Strike King has combined the hotest lure class of '07-'08, the Basstrix type swimbait with "sexy shad", the hottest lure color scheme ever marketed (thank you KVD).
Check it out.

Brilliant marketing. I've also noticed that SK has come out with a "Sexy Spoon", which is a big 4" and 5" flutter spoon, to capitalize on Kelly Jordan's whack-fest on KY Lake in UMF '07.
I wish I owned part of Strike King.
Guess I'll have to have some. Anybody else going to take the bait?
Holy Product Pimp Batman!!
I'll wait for some reviews on that one.....the Berkley bait reviews have been pretty positive so trying that one next.
Yeah I saw the sppons. The sexy shad color pattern is cool. I picked up a few of the SK lipless crank yesterday.
that green gizzard shad looks right
YAWN!
QuoteYAWN!
Sexy trout pattern, perhaps? A few added oz of weight? LOL
Bass don't care if it is a chartreuse shad
or a sexy shad.
QuoteBass don't care if it is a chartreuse shador a sexy shad.
Big difference in those two patterns.
Sexy Shad is such a good color pattern. Can't wait to try it out this spring!
sexy shad is so overrated. chartruese shad has been around for a long time and nobody made a big deal about that!
paddle tail tubes are also getting old IMO. im getting tired of seeing them all over the place.

Are you blind? There is a great deal of difference between the patterns.

:
This whole paddletail tube thing IS pretty lame.
QuoteThis whole paddletail tube thing IS pretty lame.
it sure is
its redonkulous if you ask me.
they have pretty much the same apperance as a boot tail shad lure (sassy shad type lure) which have been around for a while and nobody made a big deal about them. sure the shad lures have a wider profile but you could trim them.
but im not here to start a heated debate on paddle tails so im just gonna shut up now :-X
I'm impressed with the detail on those

The notion of paying $25+ for a package is rediculous.
The baits do work though. :-X

Off topic= Burley, what is that in your avatar. i cant make it out and its driving me crazy! big buds or something?
I know this has probably been asked tons of times, but how do you rig these paddle tails? A hook with a weight molded into the bottom of it, like some use with a soft plastic frog?
QuoteBass don't care if it is a chartreuse shador a sexy shad.
That's what I'm saying.
And I don't understand what the big deal about that sexy shad color is, yes it looks beautiful as all hell to me. But im not a fish. The ayu, and both gizzard shad colors look most natural imo. I think I'd choose them over the sexy shad color.

Sexy shad catches another one :
ok heres the difference between the sexy shad and the chartreuse shad....the sexy shad "buys" the fisherman.this bait is nearly the same as the chartreuse one but it looks better to us....and thats what makes money for the bait companys....when they buy the fisherman with baits that look good but might not even catch one fish
Bass fishermen are like a bunch of crack ho's about whatever some professional fisherman sez is "AWSOME." ;D
Let me try again.....Bassers are like a bunch of crack ho's about the latest AWESOME bait some pro is sponsoring! ;D

The bait monkey is our Pimp.

There might be a great difference between the two pattern to you but bass don't care. New color patterns catch fisherman not always fish.
The shading between the two patterns is different.
LC Chart. Shad on the top, Norman Sexy Shad on the bottom.
Chart shad has a greyish/blue back, with just a hint of violet. Barely comes off a straight line along the back.
Sexy Shad is blue back fading to grey, chart. line, orange belly.
Big difference to my eyes.

Of course they are different but do you really think it will make a difference which one you use? No way!
Sure the sexy shad pattern looks nice to our human eyes. But hey, does someone know for sure whether bass (let alone fish) see shades of colors the way we do ?
I don't know.... And that's why I tend not to focus too much on colors. At least not on very subtil changes in colors.
For instance, I don't see a difference between a pearl white, a matt white, a NC Shell White ........ What could be "whiter" than White ?
my 2 cents

You ever seen the pic of Muddy's crack hanging out?
There's your answer...
No offense to Muddy ! I don't know him personally.
I guess I should have my crack painted in Sexy Shad... that seems like the must-have color :
I'm gonna side with Burley on this one and say that on certain fisheries, like Lake Lanier, that is gin clear and the main forage is the blue back herring, I think the Sexy Shad would work better than Chartreuse Shad.
BassFishingMachine - You say that Green Gizzard and Ayu look the most natural, but is that what the fish think? Also, have you ever picked up a live Gizzard Shad and looked at it's color? I think the Sexy and Chartruse Shad are both excellent imitations of the gizzard shad.
i wonder how different they look 15 feet underwater???
jim
Quotei wonder how different they look 15 feet underwater???
To a hungry bass they would look the same.
