fishing user avatarUKCATSBASSER reply :

Currently have a box of mcsticks. Looking to try another brand. Also looking for color choices. Needing to take advantage of this TW sale lol

fishing user avatarABW reply :

Lucky Craft Pointer 78 in any color. (favorite is MS american shad)

Jackall squadminnow is pretty good too.

fishing user avatarEvan K reply :

I just bought a bunch of Pointer 100s.

fishing user avatar68camaro reply :

Here in VA jerk baits are my best followed by poppers. Fir Jerkbaits I am getting most hits on Smithwick Ratlin Rogue in Golden Bass and their super Rogue in Clown color, both floating jerks.

fishing user avatartholmes reply :

Smithwick Suspending Rattlin' Rogue, 5-1/2" in Chrome/Blue back/Orange belly or Foxy Mama.

Rapala X -Rap, size 8 or 10 in Gold, Glass Ghost and Slick.

I like the mcsticks, but LC pointer 78/100 and mb vision 110's

fishing user avatarLeonidas reply :

Jackall Squirrel and Squadminnow. Tennessee Shad color.

fishing user avatarjonnyblazex reply :

Rapala Shadow Rap in silver color has been getting them for me, the last few times out for the season, now I'm done, the ice has started. The others I tried equally as much were the spro mc stick 110, and megabass vision 110. Got skunked on both! WHAT!?? I really had high hopes for those baits, but don't worry, I'll be back in the spring for round 2!

fishing user avatarthe reel ess reply :

Rapala Classic Minnow, gold

Rapala X-Rap, gold.

Has anyone else noticed that they updated the package to have a blue Luck "E" Strike logo at the bottom? The reason I ask is because the bait is a bit different... The scale pattern is more pronounced and the paint detail isn't as good as the old version.

Lucky Craft Pointer 100-

American Shad

Ghost Minnow

Chartreuse Shad

fishing user avatarJrob78 reply :

There seems to be a theme here.

Lucky Craft Pointer 78 and 100

Lucky Craft Slender Pointer 97 and 112

I own tons of other brands but these are the 2 I have confidence in.

fishing user avatarBluebasser86 reply :

STX in pro blue, French pearl, or herringbone chartreuse.

I've actually become a big fan of custom painted 110 blanks. One of the KC area guys on the forum paints them for me and one color in particular has caught pretty much everything that swims for me.

Flits do have some killer action. They are mostly upper water column baits though unless you have great visibility.

fishing user avatarDrew03cmc reply :

In order of catching fish, I have caught the most on XR08 in silver, then MB X-80TD and KVD 200. Colors range from Pro Blue to French Pearl OB.

fishing user avatarCmiller reply :

Mine is the rapala shadow rap in carbon, that thing flat out catches fish, especially in stained waters.

fishing user avatarRyanFishing reply :

One of my favorite is the Strike King KVD Jerkbait. My three go to colors are Pro Blue, Clear Ayu, and Chrome Blue. I also like the Lucky Craft Staysees for deeper applications. For those my two colors are Ghost Minnow and Chartreuse Shad.

fishing user avatarkickerfish1 reply :

I fish quite a few of jerkbaits from budget level to higher end. I would be happy if I only  used LC pointer 78 and 100 series baits for the rest of my life. Color selection, castability, action, hooks, and availability make them my jerkbait of choice. Generally I prefer something in a baitfish color with plenty of flash.

fishing user avatarJoe H. reply :

Most of Lucky Craft's jerkbaits are good. the Pointer 100, slender pointer, and staysee 90 vers. 2 are my top 3 picks. Plenty of great colors to choose from, match the hatch whatever is working in your area they have a color for it.

fishing user avatarUKCATSBASSER reply :

Ended up with a pointer 100 I'm chartreuse shad and American shad.

Also got a 78 in American shad and ghost minnow.

Lucky Craft Ghost Minnow.

fishing user avatarww2farmer reply :

The last few years I have been very fond of the SK KVD's and the Storm Twitch sticks.

As for colors, I typically toss jerkbaits in clear water so I stick with natural/translucent colors.

fishing user avatarPrimus reply :

My answer is whatever they are biting that day, in my opinion this is one lure category where the fish preference can change from day to day and it pays to have a variety of lure styles to choose from.

My Go to jerkbaits would include ....

Megabass Ito Shiner & Vision 110 Magnum

Lucky Craft Pointer 100 & Staysee Version 2

Strike King KVD 300

Rapala X Rap & Shadow Rap

Ima Flit

I will occasionally throw small jerkbaits like the Pointer 78 & Megabass trick darter but it's rarely necessary and I prefer the bigger baits for increased casting distance .

If you forced me to sell all of them and left with one to choose from it would be the Ima Flit with the Pointer 100 coming in second . That said the hottest bait for me this past fishing season was the Rapala Shadow Rap, that bait is legit .

Can't believe I had to scroll that far down before I saw the old Twitch Stick!  By far my favorite, followed by the H2O Xpress.  As for favorite color, I caught an 11 lb striper the other day on the 4" pearl shad one.  I have had lots of luck on the bluegill one, as well.  Not so much withthe blue chrome / orange one, for some reason.  As for the H2O Xpress jerkbaits, I don't see the colors I have listed anymore - but they are basically green shad (Tennessee shad?) and sexy shad.  But they have great action and suspend well in the water column.  I am trying ou the Rapala X-Rap, but I don't like the action on it as much and haven't caught anything on it yet...

fishing user avatar*Hank reply :

Lucky craft chart. shad pointer

fishing user avatarWIGuide reply :

I've got a few I've got quite a bit of confidence in:

Rapala Shadow Rap

Live Target Rainbow Smelt

Luck E Strike STX

Smithwick Deep Rattlin' Rogue

Colors, for me, are dictated by conditions and forage so pick something that looks good to you and you have confidence in.

fishing user avatarfisherrw reply :

Hands down the the lc pointer 100sp

fishing user avatarA-Jay reply :

So many truely solid & effective choices ~

One that I didn't see mentioned much (if at all) is the Duo Realis line of jerkbaits.

Seven models to choose from.

They all feature High quality hooks & hardware, KILLER action and the stunning finish selection is wicked good.

:)

Just got some of the new Berkley Cutter and Skinny Cutter jerkbaits from my Black Friday order. Only have one day of use but if it's any indication, I'm going to be a big fan of the Skinny Cutter!
