In years past, when has the flyer come out and when does the sale usually start?
I'm thinking it's usually mid February.
seems like it comes earlier and earlier every year. the current sale runs though 1/29 so it will be at least after that
not sure when but ive been dissapointed in them these past few years most of the stuff are house brand. they do have a decent reel and rod trade in program.
I noticed during the Black Friday/Christmas sale it seemed like most of the items were store brand. Most of the things that I was interested in (Carbonlites) where hardly reduced.
Is the spring sale typically really good? I just got back into fishing about 5-6 months ago and hadn't fished regularly in 15 years or so.
It will start on either February 12th or the 17th, I believe it to be the latter.
All of the BPS searches return a "coming soon" result, but this one from Springfield events page https://www.springfieldmo.org/events/39392/bass-pro-shops-spring-fishing-classic
says it is February 17th thru the 26th. My guess is they have the end date wrong, it is probably another week longer.
According to this link, http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CFPageC?storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&langId1&appID=206&template=sfc-initial.cfm
they have different start dates, the 12th & the 17th on the same flyer. My guess is this is a mockup using the 2016 flyer and they didn't change all of the dates. It typically starts on a Friday, last year the 12th was a Friday, this year the 17th is one.
just seen that they posted the flyer online, not much in it from what I can tell. such a let down on he electronics sale. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CFPageC?storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&appID=206&template=sfc-rod-reel.cfm&storeID=66#sfcMenu
Got my preferred rewards notification today for the Spring
Fishing Classic. Small flyer in mail. Basic stuff, BPS products
featured as usual... Rod/reel trade-ins, door prizes, etc.
Hopefully when the main flyer is released there will be some
good discounts this year on soft plastics so I can restock.

Wonder how many they'll have in left handed... is there a sale on the PQ 2 as well? Can't decide what reel is the best deal, planning on getting two!

Where did you see this? It's not advertised in the flyer.

It was on the next to last page of the circular flyer

Does the trade-in only work on certain products? I'm going to get a Lews' Tournament Pro, what are the odds I could trade something in on that?
$49 for the qualifier - that has to be after the trade-in, right?

The Pro Q is NOT with trade-in. And it is limited to
quantities on hand...
And unless specified, you can get any reel at a discount
after trade-in.

Yup, just got my circular yesterday and saw it. Now my decision is should I buy the Pro Q for $50 or should I buy a Daiwa Tatula CT or Abu Garcia Revo SX for $90 off eBay?

At those prices, all three.
I'm not passing up on a $50 Pro Q, that's for sure. On the trade-in, as long as the reel/rod is functional they take it?

The Pro Q doesn't qualify (get it...lol) for the rod/reel trade-in. As for getting all three...can't see the wife going for that!!!
The rest of the "deals" aren't spectacular. Half of the items in the sale paper aren't even sale prices! Regular prices with fancy pictures. Unfortunately this sale seems to get more predictable and less worthwhile each year. And each year I get Bass Pro gift cards for Christmas, wait for this sale, and find none of what I want on sale.
Are there sometimes sales that don't appear in the flyer? For example, I've been looking at the walleye angler rod (yes I fish for walleye as well as bass haha) and was hoping it would go on sale for the classic, but it's not in the flyer. Aren't normally all the BPS rods on sale during this time, to go along with the trade in? I would have to agree with everyone else though, besides the PQ for $50 and it's the discontinued version at that, the sale leaves more to be desired.
The sale starts 2/17, but in my flyer, the trade in starts 2/23 Kind of weird

I couldn't agree more. Don't buy much of anything from bass pro anymore.

Same here. I get gift cards every birthday & Christmas. At least I can use them & trade in a rod or reel, then get a new one with minimum investment.
It's a shame the sale event isn't what it used to be. One good thing about the event this year at the Memphis Pyramid store - KVD is making an appearance.

Yes. I have found quite a few items on sale that aren't even mentioned in the flyer. I don't know why they would do that, other than not wanting to commit to having huge amounts on hand at sale price.
Looking at the flyer online, I didn't see the Carbonlite Rod/Pro Qualifier combo like I picked up last year. The $49 PQ is tempting but I've a feeling the local store will quickly be sold out, not have any left hand models and with the new model hitting the stores, I'd like to wait to see it.
I might trade race in an old junk rod to pick up a two piece Veritas or Carbonlite or trade for another President reel.

I started asking for tackle warehouse gift cards lol.
This years sales are pathetic. I do not see any reason to make a 2 hour drive for what they are offering.

Yup, my local store had a sale on St Croix sticks going. Might have been because they had just changed their fishing section around and had increased their inventory on some rod makers.

St. Croix sale? Do you have any specifics? My local store starts the sale this Friday.
Sorry for the confusion. This was last year at the Colorado Springs store.
just went online to place my bulk order for soft plastics, like i do every year, only to find that sale prices apply to "in store" purchases only this year.
hmmm, thats new.
what do you suppose the chances are of them going back in the stock room and digging me out 50 bags of my favorite plastics?
Yep...apparently I will NOT be getting a new PQ
I live 15 minutes from BP and decided I'm not even going in today to pick up a $49 PQ. Would rather wait to see what the new version is like, especially when I can pick up a Lews LFS for not too much more than the sale price of the old PQ.
Also, why doesn't the rod and reel trade in start until next week?
I think that there is something wrong with me. After browsing the entire Classic flyer the only thing that I wanted was that kid's foam bass hat on page 3. I know that I am a kid at heart but this might be stretching it a bit.
48 going on 8.

New version coming out? I didn't realize that. I actually am going in today to see if they have a $49 PQ, I just can't pass that up. I have two reels in that $100 range - a Lews Speed Spool and the PQ, I like both but if I had to pick one over the other it would be the PQ. Regardless of whether or not a new model is coming out, that is a really nice reel for that price.
I had the same question about the trade-in dates.
If anybody happens to go to BPS for the sale, can you
inform whether or not Yamamoto Senkos are part of
the sale? I notice not everything on sale gets put in the
flyer, so just wondering...
Not holding my breath they will be.
Oh, picked up some Pond Magic spinnerbaits at Walmart
yesterday...Just under $3 each. (Not the micro)
Checked BPS pricing on same ones: $4.29. Really?! Hard
to buy any bait there anymore unless it is on a good sale.

the "online classic" is after the in store classic ends. just wait a couple weeks

I don't think they were, but I couldn't swear to it. I will be back in the store Thursday and will give you a definite answer if you can wait until then.
I had a pocket full of BPS gift cards I've amassed over the last year, so I went in this morning to grab a PQ and see what else they had. Ended up only getting the reel. Nothing really that impressive on the sales. Most of their stuff is already overpriced, so a 20% discount just gets the price down to normal. For example, they had Suffix 832 on "sale" for $15.99 - which is the regular every day price at TW.
The place was a madhouse too. I got there about 15 minutes after they opened and the lot was full. And of course every single one of those people was in the fishing department.

I'll probably, well, more on the possibly side, hit
the Hampton store up this weekend or sometime
next week. Won't be surprised if they're not on
sale, tho.
