When Im not dropshotting, I like to throw a lipless crankbait. I was wondering what was your favorite model, size, color. I like the old rattlin rapala and the more recent rippin rap. I used them mostly in murky water, so I go for either a bright chartreuse or a craw pattern.
The Xcaliber XRK50 in Rayburn Red (now made by Booyah and goes by a different name).
Strike King Red Eye Shad in Chile Craw, 1/4 ounce for our shallow, weedy lakes.
Strike King Red Eye Shad in Sexy Shad.
This. Except in a shad pattern. On 7/11/2015 at 2:07 PM, Bluebasser86 said:The Xcaliber XRK50 in Rayburn Red (now made by Booyah and goes by a different name).

Me Too ~ !
Both the original and the silent model.
Also Honorable mention goes to the 6th Sense S n a t c h 70 X Lipless bait which is also offered with a nice rattling model and something they're calling FRS - Faint Rattling Sound. A single rubber coated tungsten ball bouncing around in the bait produces something the fish up here seem to really dig.
Both baits have that sweet little shimmy on the fall.

M favorite is the Xcalibur one knocker which is now the Booyah one knocker and while I don't really have a favorite color, I kind of find myself using Tilapia a good bit.
Red Eye shad, Rat'L Trap, and the Super Spot.

Know where you can find more of that color per chance? I found one and it was a killer. I also found they don't fare too well if you slam them off a bridge piling
Heddon Bayou Boogie .
xcalibur one knocker - rayburn red and gold black
also yozuri rattln vibe - perch color
h20 xpress - diamond dust
LV500, color just depends the time of year I'm throwing it

A place called fish freak online has them listed in the 50 size. I got mine at my Local Cabelas, they were on clearance a few years back for like $1.99 and I grabbed foxy momma and chrome blue but I saw Tilapia and it looked cool so I grabbed one. I was out the next day and that color was on fire, I went right to Cabelas after that and got the last 4 they had in that color. Another one that is hard to find is lemon lime, that is great in dirty water or where there are smallmouth.

Yep, I have Lemon/lime and one of my biggest smallmouth from the lake by my parent's house about ripped the rod out of my hands when she ate that thing.

LV 500/150
I own many different brands, but the one that generally gets tied on is an old Berkley Frenzy rattle bait. I like its posture in the water, and how it tends to drop "horizontal" instead of nose first when I stop it. Mind you, I don't stop it a lot, primary retrieve is to tick the top of whatever vegetation is around. When you encounter more vegetation, a quick rip to shed the grass. I like to keep it moving.
Strike King Red Eye Shad works and it won't break the bank...lets you be a little more brave in dodgy cover!

Rat-L-Trap 1/2 oz Red Chrome or Toledo Gold!
I'll throw in the Spro Aruku Shad to this list too, a tad more expensive that the Red Eye Shad, but not quite as pricey as the LV 500
Spro Aruku Shad 75 (any color)
Roger
Xcalibur XRK50
Spro Aruku Shad
Strike King Red Eye Shad

Same here! Great bait!
1) ** Cotton Cordell Th' Spot (I think it's 1/2 oz) - any G-finish.
2) * XCalibur Xrk50 - Ghost, Pearl Melon, Citrus Shad
3) Strike King Red Eye Shad (1/2 oz) - Sexy Shad, Gizzard Shad
4) * Cotton Cordell Super Spot (1/2 oz) - Smokey Joe, Chartreuse Perch
* = No longer made in these colors.
** = No longer made. I only have a couple left : (
no mention of the Duo Realis lipless?
Livetarget buegill vibration trap all day. I can't believe how many people say red eye shads.
Red Eye Shad in Chart. Belly Craw, Chartreuse Sexy Shad

They work!!!
I've also used the Livetarget Crawfish trap, which is slightly smaller compared to the RES. I also like that one too.
Spro Aruku Shad 5/8oz - Perch
I have been killing it on Strike King in white, but also the Cotton Cordells in chrome blue.

And the Chartreuse Sexy Shad, and Gold Sexy Shad work like a CHAMP!
Strike King Red Eye Shad. Sexy shad and gold with black back. 1/2 oz & 3/4 oz.
Strike King Red Eye Shad, and the old Xcaliber's...which when gone/bitten off will be replaced by the new/same??? Booyah's. Another sleeper bait that get's little love is the Storm Rock'n Shad, IMHO it's the best lipless bait of the Rapala/VMC group...I like it much better than any of the Rapala branded lipless cranks.
The Xcalibers have been awesome for me. I also like Luck Craft's LV series of Lipless Cranks.
Spro aruku
Chart and orange craw red eye shads, fire tiger or chart rippin raps, and the good ol reliable chrome blueback rat l traps. I have some red ones in there too for spring and fall
Anyone remember this classic? I had several as a kid. I remember catching crappie from time to time on them. I was surprised to find they're still being made and BPS has them.

Yes , I love them. especially the old ones without rattles. Perch is my favorite and I lost my last one a couple of weeks back throwing it from bank and letting it sink. I knew better than to use it but it was working so well .
Old faithful, Bill lewis rattle trap in red craw! i do like the rapala rippin rap also
RES in sexy shad or bluegill
Honorable mention: Spro aruku in chrome with black back.
Don't really have a favorite brand or exact bait. Typically I prefer something in chrome/blue and around a 1/2 oz. Mostly a spring and fall lure for me.
Excited about the new Berkley War Pig, looks like it could be a good bait to me! Excited about all the new Berkley hardbaits honestly, hoping for another affordable option for hardbaits.
Natural Craw Rat-L-Trap. Can't beat them around here in the spring, and around the spawn.

I think that red face coming right at the fish just makes them strike out of pure instinct.
Spro aruku shad!
