New Megastrike Product -I Want You To Tell Me- 2024

fishing user avatarBobby Uhrig reply :

We all know that the soft plastic stick bait is probably the most productive bass bait to ever come along-The flick shake is a great attribute to the stick bait- Wacky rigging is the most productive way to fish them. Adding color to the egg sack is something no one has ever done before--I will be making very unique combinations of colors.. I have been testing these and let me tell you-Freaking killer. --OK here is something that took me over a year to develop and over 14 months to make the mold.No one has ever built a mold like this.

IT IS CALLED THE MEGASTRIKE "FLICK STICK "

I want you to tell me what YOU think its supposed to do.. It will be introduced at ICAST

I don't know what it is suppose to do but I will be stocking up on those!! Looks awesome!!

fishing user avatarBobby Uhrig reply :

sometimes ya gotta think so far outta the box it leaves people scratching their heads. Believe me after a while I will explain my concepts and theories.

fishing user avatardown4ttown reply :

Well Bobby I am going to take a shot at it.

When I think of a "stick bait" I always thinking of rigging it wacky style. That being said your new bait has a bright attractive color right at the point of attack...the hook! This bait should make the wacky rig that much "wackier" in the sense that the bright colors should provoke more strikes. That was my initial thought on it. Bait looks great by the way!

fishing user avatargeorgeyew reply :

Bobby, that is interesting. I would like to hear your theories about the different color egg sack and how that would work differently from other stick baits with colors on the end. BTW, I love your products!

My thoughts...maybe the center is made from a stronger material that won't rip as easily.

fishing user avatarFelix77 reply :

Bait looks awesome ... here's my thoughts.

1 - The different color acts as an attractor right where the hook is (as mentioned above)

2 - It is also an easy indicator to determine the center of the bait for easy rigging.

3 - The uniform shape tapering off on either end ensures a parallel shimmy all the way down.

4 - Maybe? the center is made of a different material encouraging more of a wiggle on the way down?

Can't wait to try them!

fishing user avatarBassinLou reply :

All of the above responses make sense and I would also like to add that the center is infused with megastrike and for bass it will be like biting into a jelly filled doughnut. Yum!!

Now we are using our heads. If he incorporates half of the things we described, GY better watch out!

fishing user avatarroadwarrior reply :

Perhaps the colored center is a hard plastic causing all of the energy to be transferred

to either end rather than being diffused in the middle. So, rather than bending, the ends

tend to flutter downwards when the bait is worked by the angler and upwards when the

bait is in free-fall.

fishing user avatarBigMoneyGrip reply :

Does the center glow?

fishing user avatarcoots reply :

I don't know of anything to add that hasn't been already. I just want some.

fishing user avatarGrizzn N Bassin reply :

I also the think the green will attract strikes where the hooks are.. also the middle might have a hard rubber or plastic like road warrior said great action as well as saving bait a from getting torn up less or even flicked off when they worm gets thrown up the line.. it might only move to the eyelet and help make the bait last a little longer

fishing user avatarGrizzn N Bassin reply :

But I will deff be trying this.. first 10 ppl to post should get 1 few bait to test :) jk I wish!!

fishing user avatarBassinLou reply :

I am #7 in line. LOL.

fishing user avatarBridgerM reply :

I think it is supposed to catch fish

fishing user avatarTim Cianciola reply :

looks interesting enough wo knowing your exact reasons for making it that i would try it. all the above mentioned theories make sense.

fishing user avatarderekxec reply :

just curious but what are your molds made out of? metal? plastic? rubber?

fishing user avatarSam reply :

Looks interesting.

Bass should eat them up.

Bobby is "da man" again.

fishing user avatargripnrip reply :

Man I want to take a bite already! ^^^ I love the mega strike jelly idea. I mean some fish are fat like myself, and this fat boy loves jelly frickin doughnuts!

fishing user avatarJeziHogg reply :

I like the idea, but instead just changing the color on the egg sack, how about make the egg sack a more durable plastic (That's where the majority of stick worms are ripped apart)

*Mind blown*

fishing user avatarJay Ell Gee reply :

I'm with Mr. Kent on this one.

If you look closely, the center plastic is indeed different than the ends. It is not ribbed at all. If it was more dense than the ends it would produce a great shimmy on the fall.

The color in the center (where the hook is) seems like a great idea as well.

If you need a tester, let me know!

P.S. If you remove the Megastrike logo, it will catch quite a few more fish. Bass fear that name!

fishing user avatarrockchalk06 reply :

I will definatly want to give these a try. I have bought more Senko type baits than I care to admit. Still have a big ole goose egg for fish on them. I believe in the Megastrike attractant, so maybe these will pay off.

fishing user avatarwebertime reply :

Will all the talk around the country on Banning Plastics in fishing (VT now has a proposed bill to ban plastics...)  Perhaps the center section is a harder durometer or "less tearable" so lost baits are deminished?  Less bass with "senko stomach"?

fishing user avatar5dollarsplash reply :

All great ideas in the posts above. That said I'm going to go with bouyancy, the middle has less/more salt to increase flutter on the drop or while drop shooting.

fishing user avatarlug reply :

Tough reusable center replaceable ends.

fishing user avatarHomersTomaco reply :

It's designed to get fisherman to buy it and take market share away from Yamamoto... Like every stick bait

fishing user avatarPABASS reply :

If they catch fish like a GY Senko I will give them a try.  Do they have allot of salt?  Lets consider problems with wacky rigging a senko, without an O ring they are one maybe two fish baits and that equals expensive.  So if you roll that bait over does it have a small center O ring, built in?  I have noticed when you rig a senko wacky with an O ring and do not touch any plastic and use the O ring its has a better action.T  Trying to get the fish to key in on the center, the hook, and the color change could provide that.  In windy days I add a nail weight, perhaps this system you can add weight and or they are weighted centers?  If this eliminates the need for O rings and nail weights, add increases hook ups that's a three for one bait, and I like that maybe even a 4 for one..  I buy one bait that is a three for one, hula grub, you can make it into a twin tailed grub, ika, and leave it as is, three for one...  It could also be the centers are the new O ring, and the worms are really slim in the center to accommodate this new MegaO ring, but what I mentioned above can still aplly.

fishing user avatarBobby Uhrig reply :

post-10213-0-12858800-1370621603_thumb.jYou guys are freaking out of control. We have five full time employees here and you can all get a job working here LOL.

Ok most of you have pretty much nailed it.

I have been diving watching the "stick bait" since it first came out-I mean probably before 99%of the anglers didn't  even seen it yet-I noticed that wacky rigging seemed to trigger more strikes. One of the issues was  at times the bass would grab one of the two ends and swim away with the bait before engulfing it totally. It just depended on their aggression or mood. We know when we feel a tap(bite)or see/feel the bait swimming away we set the hook. What happens underwater is the bass just has a part of the bait-not necessasaryily  the hook in the fishes mouth. It could be just a half inch to one side or the other. What happens is you pull the bait away from the fish resulting in a lost fish and usually a ripped bait.

By centering the egg sac/ creating balance and coloring it gives the fish a focal point to attack. RIGHT WHERE THE HOOK IS. How many times have you seen chartreuse colored tails on lizards or worms being attacked by the bass first. I have seen it hundreds of times.

By weighting the center , it will fall like a flick shake-(Im still playing with density of it-faster /slower fall rates) it could possibly induce or provoke more strikes. It depends on conditions and the fishes mood again. Using  denser material-you got it-displacing energy to the sides for more action. Again less ripped baits

The purest megastrike infused into the baits for attraction and retention purposes.

Colors- Think about it -black sides with a red or hot pink center.

black sides  with blue egg sac--I will be developing some really good /proven fish catching colors..

They will be packed in a clamshell and not a bag for reasons obvious -don't want them bent.  So theres more to come

Play with that a while and yes of coarse I will be doing giveaways

For the first 10 responses???

fishing user avatarJay Ell Gee reply :

My offer as a product tester still stands!

I'll thoroughly test their skipping potential from my kayak while wacky rigged :D

fishing user avatarkylek reply :

These are going to the top of my list when they are available.  They sound great!!!

fishing user avatarshootermcbob reply :

Those look Killer! always like reading the reasons WHY you make your lures/baits the way you do. Just makes sense.

fishing user avatarBobby Uhrig reply :

The bottom line is I just think of how I can make a bait get bit more often.

fishing user avatarbasskicker98 reply :

That's pretty sweet. I've never seen your baits as I'm new here. Being a massive stick-bait fan myself, I'll happily buy a pack when they are available. I actually had spliced different colored egg sacks to some of my lures before. Genius idea really. My home spliced baits don't hold up long though. May I suggest a Junebug with a white egg sack? That was a good combo on several lakes for me. Great work and I look forward to looking at some more of your lures.

fishing user avatarJ Francho reply :

Looks real good, Bobby.  Way to keep evolving and offering better baits!

fishing user avatarGrizzn N Bassin reply :

Yes I vote first 10 :) baits look killer great work man!

fishing user avatardown4ttown reply :

Shoot count me in for the first ten deal! I would love to try some of those!

fishing user avatarSodus Bay Scooter reply :

fishing user avatarComfortably Numb reply :

I actually trid that same color priciple and found it made no difference.

But then again I found IME that stick bait color does not make any difference and I have a fairly good hook up ratio on bass over 12". I usually wait 5 secs or so before setting the hook.

There also are additives besides salt that make a bait sink and more durable. It cost more than salt and customers would not buy as many baits if they lasted longer so big companies dont use it.

fishing user avatardavew41 reply :

A Balanced bait I like the idea. As for color, If you have been diving as long as you have in the north east, where our waters are mostly pea soup stained all summer you will notice only 2 real colors are needed brown and black in the bait world people call brown green pumpkin..

as almost all baits look black or brown in 3 feet of water or more..

Can't wait until they hit the market and I will purchase a few  clamshells it is already a proven BASE design so there is no doubt it will land fish..

fishing user avatarBASShunterOH reply :

Not worried about getting them free, I just wanna know when they will be out!!

fishing user avatarflyfisher reply :

Now just make a shorter 4" version with the same concept in the head section so that the durability is increased for those of us who like to nose hook dtick baits for smallies :)

fishing user avatarQuillback reply :

Definitely will be on my buy list when they come out.

I would like to see Green Pumpkin/purple flake with a  dark purple center.

Watermelon/red flake with a reddish center, not a bright red, bur more of a subtle shade of red.

fishing user avatarGlenn reply :

I like how your mind works, Bobby.  Always thinking of the problem first, then doing whatever it takes to solve it; forging your own path. Your product line speaks for itself - full of creative, original designs all designed to catch more fish!

fishing user avatarSPEEDBEAD. reply :

That's some good stuff right there Bobby. You're pretty good at figuring that stuff out...

I didnt realize how painful it would be to compliment you. ;)  LOL

fishing user avatarBobby Uhrig reply :

How does it feel to want baby SI   LOL One guy even had the craziness to use genius in his sentence about me --NOW that's scary brother
