I've seen a few threads on topics where people post their setup in a thread about a given technique and other threads asking if their equipment can cover every technique, etc., but no comprehensive list of what everyone uses.
Let's hear your rod/reel/line setup for:
1) Flipping
2) Carolina rig
3) Spinnerbait
4) Frogging
5) Drop shotting
6) Shaky head
7) Swimbait
8) Crankbait
9) Weightless plasics
10) Jig fishing
11) Texas rig
For each, specify your:
1) Rod length and power
2) Reel model & manufacturer
3) Line type, test, & manufacturer
That's a lot to ask for, dude.
I'm new to fishing, but just got a 6'6" st croix med/fast paired with an abu c3. I have 10# stren flouro on it now.
Also have a crappy shakespere rod/ reel combo with 14# trilene xtra tough of it. I guess you can call that my flip stik.

Hah yes, perhaps it is. Might be better to parse the techniques into separate topics of their own.
I'll give it a shot since my setups most of the time serve multiple duties.

Guess that's it for me but I do have other setups I use as well

Here is what goes with me when I go out with the goal of bass fishing exclusively:
-G. Loomis IMX MBR 783C w/ a Shimano Curado 200DHSV w/ Trilene Big Game 12# line. Uses: weighted plastics, spinnerbaits, buzz baits, jigs
- G. Loomis IMX MBR782C w/ Shimano Curado 100D w/ Trilene Big Game 10# line. Uses: Shallow cranks (no more than 6-8'), rattle traps
- G.Loomis GL2 SJR783S w/ Shimano Stradic 2500 w/ Trilene XL 10# line and 30# Power Pro or Suffix braid on spare spool. Uses: Jerkbaits, topwaters, weightless plastics, shakey heads, about anything I need to throw. THis combo gets used for about everything in my tacklebox and makes every trip to the water.
- Bass Pro Bionic Blade 7'6" Flippin stick w/ Shimano Curado 300D w/ Trilene Big Game 30# line. USes: Swimbaits, Carolina rigs, rogs, flipping
- I also have a Shimano Curado 200DPV w/ Trilene 10# Big Game that will be used for deep cranking when I get the extra money or have a need for a deep cranking rod.

I actually like the way it feels and have gotten used to it being skinnier than my other rods. The grip at least with my experience hasn't been slippery when getting wet either and is nice and sensitive.

I guess I will list them in order of how important they are to my day to day bass fishing as we don't use a lot of the "power tactics" like flipping or pitching a lot up here.
Drop shot/shakey head: Shimano 6' 8" Cumara ML/Stradic Mgfb 1000/6lb flouro
Small jerkbaits/small T-rigs: St. Croix 6' 9" LTB ML/ Stradic FI/8lb Powerpro
Small cranks/small spinnerbaits/topwater: St. Croix 6' 9" LTB ML/Curado E7/8lb Powerpro
Carolina rigs/smaller swimbaits: St. Croix 8' LTW M/Sustain 2500/10lb Powerpro
Spinnerbaits/most cranks: Carrot Stix Gold 7' M/Revo SX/10lb Powerpro
Football jigs/hollow bodies: St. Croix 6' 6" MH Avid/Revo SX/20 lb Spiderwire Stealth
Big Swimbaits: St. Croix 7' 9" XH Mojo/Calcutta/50lb Powerpro
I use the two ML spinning outfits and the ML casting rod about 90% of the time. I like drop shotting and shakey heads the best.
I don't c-rig and some of my rods pull double duty or more than one rod for a technique so here's what I got
1) Flipping: 7'6''H-Fast Castsway Big Show Flipping Stick; Curado 200 E7; 50lb Suffix Performance Braid with 15lb Vicious Flouro.
Powell 705C 7'Mag-H; Quantum Energy PT VI 100H "Burner"; 17lb P-line CXX.
2) Carolina rig: Either of the flipping sticks if I ever do it
3) Spinnerbait: 7'MH-F St. Croix Avid; Pflueger Supreme 6.4:1; 12lb CXX
4) Frogging: not much call for it but either the Powell or Castaway
5) Drop shotting: 7'M-EF Damiki Dark Angel Spinning rod; Quantum Energy Pti-a 30; 12lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid
6) Shaky head: Damiki Dark Angel ^^^

Not gonna go into the different categories and stuff; I use multiple rods for multiple things depending on my mood and how I'm feeling about my chances. So I'll just go ahead and list the rigs I take on the boat with me when I'm going bassin'.
-Shakespeare 7' Ugly Stik Lite Pro SP 1170 2M/4 bearing Lite Pro spinning reel 10lb/120 /Trilene 6# 100% fluoro
This is a cheap (obviously) combo I bought about six years ago; the rod is still in the Shakespeare catalog, but the reel's model number faded away long ago and I can't find a model in the catalog that matches the description so I guess it's not made anymore. While it's a cheap rig, it's been one of the best combos in my arsenal, especially for finesse work; it's surprisingly sensitive for such a basic rod.
-Abu SORON 40/7'6" Okuma GS 761 M/Trilene 8# 100% fluoro
-Abu PROMAX/7'6" Okuma GS 761 MH/Trilene green 12# 100% fluoro
That's my list...
Simple and sweet, the way I like it. I may be one of the most simple anglers out there, in part due to budget...but it works just fine for me!

how are you liking this rod? im looking for something to toss tubes and 1/8-1/4 weights on thin line.
Quoteim looking for something to toss tubes and 1/8-1/4 weights on thin line.
The Techna AV AVS70MM is definitely NOT the rod you need.
I bought this specifically for throwing jerkbaits at night (baitcasting
backlashes don't workout for me after dark). This Fenwick is built
with quality components and what Fenwick considers "cutting edge
technology" in the blank. This would make a fine spinning rod for all
light and medium weight treble hook lures. For tubes and all soft
plastics, you should buy Medium, MH or Heavy Power and Fast or
X-Fast Action.
The Fenwick Techna AV series are fine rods and were a GREAT VALUE
before the prices were raised from around $160 to $210. At their
current pricing point, these rods are not (price) competitive. St. Croix
Avids are comparable rods for about $180.
WHOA!
I just saw this in our Flea Market. This is a GREAT deal:

I'm still waiting on TackleTour to do a high-end bobber shootout.

I fish everything on 30lb PowerPro braid. Yes, even crankbaits! I also switch the reels and rods in and out depending if I am fishing a pond or the river and the conditions.
Chronarch 50 MG on a 6' 3 M Johnny Morris Elite-Weightless plastics such as senkos.
Shimano Chronarch 50 MG on a 6' 6 MH Johnny Morris Elite-weighted plastics
Shimano Curado 200E7 on a 6' 8 MH Johnny Morris Elite-Spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, frogs
Shimano Curado 100D on a 6' 6 ML BPS Pro Finesse-Crankbaits
Shimano Curado 100D on a 6' 6 M BPS Pro Finesse-really light weightless plastics
Shimano Chronarch 50 MG on a 6'6 M BPS Pro Finesse-This one has a broken tip and is only about 6'3 now with a new tip and performs more like a MH rod. Therfore I throw weighted plastics with it in the small river that I fish in.
Abu Garcia Revo Inshore on a 6'6 M Carbonlite-This rod doesn't match this reel well at all but it works ok for light tackle shore fishing at the beach. I bought it to fish with the revo for light inshore and to swap out and fish crankbaits on some also. It pulls double duty sometimes.
I don't fish jigs because they get hung up too much and don't catch half the fish a weighted plastic worm does in the river I fish. I don't fish a drop shot because the deepest water I fish all year long is probably 15 feet deep with the majority being 10 ft. or less. I don't flip or pitch because I have never really needed to. Casting works fine in the situations that I fish. There is no need to throw a Carolina rig in the situations I described above. I have never tried shakey head fishing, the fish bite weighted finesse worms just fine but I may give it a try in late winter when the fish are less aggressive.

1st off, awesome post...I will always take time from work to organize my rigs hahaha.
1. Pitching Stick: 7'0 MH Daiwa Procyon. Shimano Curado 200E7. 65# braid. Jigs and T-rigged craws
2. Frog Rod: 7'0 MH Daiwa Procyon. Shimano Citica 200E. 50# braid. Buzzfrog, spro frog, or swim jig depending on the conditions.
3. Worm Rod: 6'10 Fenwick HMG. Shimano Cruxis 200. 17# Fluoro. 10" worms or spinnerbait depending on the conditions (and if I bring my crappy Spinnerbait rig).
4. Cranking Stick: 7'0 MH American Rodsmith David Fritts Glass. 12-15# Fluoro. All kinds of crankbaits.
5. Spinnerbait Rod: 6'6 MH Berkley something or rather with a crappy bass pro reel that has lasted forever and will not give up. 15# mono. (I've won tournaments with this rig haha I can't believe it).
6. Spinning Rig: 6'10 MH Rapala R-Type. Shimano Sahara. 15-20# braid with 12# fluoro leader. Senkos or finesse worms.
7. Spinning Rig2: 6'6 M Shimano Sojourn. Shimano Sahara. 15# braid with 8-12# fluoro leader. Drop Shot.
I've got enough to cover my bases....but I still spend $$ upgrading hahaha.
My setup is pretty simple:
G Loomis BCR803 GLX / Shimano Curado 51E / 12# 100% Fluoro for weightless plastics, small jigs, small top water & jerkbaits
St. Croix Avid AVC70MHF / Shimano Curado 201E7 / 55# Daiwa Samurai braid for all larger plastics, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, swim jigs, traps, large topwater and frogs
Powell Glass Crankbait rod 703CB-Glass / Revo Winch / 40# Daiwa Samurai with whatever type of leader I need for my crank bait arsenal.
Shimano Compre CPS-66MHB / Pflueger Arbor / 20# fireline general purpose spinning applications but mostly tubes or really windy shore fishing.
I have several other rods including backups and reels but these are my goto setups.

I don't really have set combos, partly because I have more rods than reels, but this is what I have:
Casting Rods:
St Croix Avid 6'6" MHF
St Croix Mojo Bass 7' MHF
Fenwick Goldenwing IM7 6'6" M-no action rating on this, but I would call it fast
Acadia Sports F series 7'MH-again no action rating, but I would call it fast
Ugly Stik 6'M
Casting Reels:
Curado E5 spooled with 12lb Triplefish camo mono
Abu Garcia C4 4600 with 15lb Big game
Daiwa Advantage 150H with 30lb stren super braid
Spinning Rods:
Ugly Stik Lite Pro 2 pc 7'M
Acadia F series 2 pc 6'6" M
Spinning reels:
Pflueger Trion 4730
Gander MTN. Guide series Metal 20
both spinning reels have 10lb spiderwire stealth on one spool and either 6 or 8lb trilene xl on the other. Which I use depends on which rod I'm putting it on, the technique I plan on using, and water clarity.
(hopefully) coming soon
Casting rod
7'medium moderate for cranks (so far I've looked at BPS carbonlite, BPS crankin stick, and carrot stix wild)
Casting reels:
I need at least 2 more, 3 more when I get the cranking rod I want. I plan on getting a BPS carbonlite at the reel trade in sale this weekend which will take care of the first one. For the other two, I'm considering one of the new Lew's speed spools and an Ardent c400.

QuoteI'll give it a shot since my setups most of the time serve multiple duties.Crankbait: Berkeley Amp 7ft Medium Power

Guess that's it for me but I do have other setups I use as well
Things have really changed since we originally started this list and my setups have changed as well.
My Crankbait setups:
Casting=Kistler Mag TS 7'M/MF, Daiwa Exceler 6.3:1 spooled with Cabelas 12# Flouro.
Spinning=Cabelas Prodigy 7' M/F,Quantum Catalyst PTi-B20 spooled with Cabelas 6# Flouro
My Spinnerbait setup:

Drop Shot setup:
Spinning=Cabelas Mag Touch MGTS69DS 6'9" M/F, Rainbow BM 1000 spooled with Power Pro 30# braid.
I'll add my other setups later
Casting:
Dobyns 704 - Shimano Citica w/12lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid -- Texas rigs, jigs, bottom contact
Dobyns 733 - Shimano Citica w/12lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid -- Cranks, lipless cranks, small spinnerbaits
Dobyns 734 - Shimano Citica w/15lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid -- Spinnerbaits, senkos, plastics in moderate cover
Shimano Crucial CRCX76MH - Shimano Citica w/50lb Power Pro -- Heavy cover, frogs, flippin
Pinnacle 762CAMH - Shimano Cardiff w/40lb Power Pro -- Swimbaits, horny toads, buzzbaits, jigs
Spinning:
Shimano Crucial CRSDX72M - Shimano Sahara w/20lb Power Pro + leader -- Drop Shot, lightweight texas rigs, giggy heads
Going to give the Yo-Zuri a thorough testing for the next few months now that I've got some different rods to play around with. So far so good. If I end up not liking it, I'll probably switch the three rods that have it back over to braid with a leader.
