What does everyone think about the Carrot stixs? 2024

Ive been fishing then since they came out.. after buying a few I fell in love with them! sold off all my loomis and Zillion sticks and replace them with C stixs only other rods I kept was my steez rods.. and to tell the truth I like my carrot stixs better... I loved Gloomis rods but Ive never liked Fuji handles Ive always like Daiwa S handles.. Once i fished the C stix it felt so good (The handle) and comfortable I didnt want to fish nothing else! people talk about how they are by far the most sensitive rods made...... Well I cant say that I will say this though You have all the feel you need with them and then some to spare.. but what really stole my heart was how light they are... 100% the lightest rods on the market.... and To me the best feeling handle of any rod made I do wish they came with Fuji guides TIsics and I would be even more happy with them and I had worries about the guides that are on them but after as much fishing ive done and I mostly fish braid i have not had any problems with the guides... these are 150-200 dollar rods that fish as good if not better then 400+ dollar rods and if you break one walk in to a BPS and its replaced right then and there.. only thing thats kinda silly to me is the fact that they put a balance port on the rod and dont sell weights to do it with... however I have bought some off Ebay called Karrot weights and they work good. I love them and wont fish nothing else as of right now I cant say I wont fish something else tomorrow but as of today I like my orange stixs.. What does every one who owns one think about them? I still have some mint condition Loomis GLX casting rods for sell... if your looking for one or two let me know I may have just what your looking for.

I havent used them but felt them at bass pro and they weight nothing!! I might save up for a 7"6 heavy action for small swimbaits like matts bluegills. Do you think that would be a good rod for it?

My Swim bait rod is a Carrot stix gold 8' XXH XF rated at 15-30 and 2-5OZ baits I throw BIG swim baits at times and this rod handles well up to about 7OZs its rated 2-5ozs but will handle 6 easy and 7 is pushing it. the matts blue gills is 1 1/2 to right at 2 ozs for the sinker I throw the matts gill alot the floater and the rod I use it with is Carrot stix LTX 7'6 H F rated 15-30 5/8s to 2 1/2ozs I flip/pitch with the same rod as well and one that is strictly for swim baits under 3ozs. My fav rod out of all is the 6'9 parabolic crankin rod, no cranking stick ive ever fished is even close to this rod in crank baiting NOTHING... you can put stretchy mono there is on your real and make the longest cast you can and still feel every wobble of the crank bait.. the rod loads up perfect and has back bone but also a great tip to help keep those stick owners trebles in the fishes mouth. For what your looking for in a rod the 7'6 LTX H will make a sweet small swim bait rod for you...but ill tell you this once you fish one you wont want anything else.

The warranty is a lifetime warranty if you break it over your knee they dont care and will replace it for you at any place that sales them or if your bought it online and arent close to the retailer they will mail you a brand new rod for 50 dollars.. I broke a Tip on one of mine a few weeks ago being stupid next day walked in to BPS Orlando and went back and picked out the same model rod and that was that I didnt even have to show a receipt.. they dont ask how you broke it or anything just take it back to the returns desk and thats that and its life time. and color wise the LTX models only come in Orange but it looks pretty cool once you get a reel on it.. I didnt like the color when i first seen them and now I like the color.. And The Carrot stix gold model is a goldish orange that slightly changes color as you move it around and with me TD-ITOS on it the look crazy sweet.. take my word when you may hate the color but once you fish one you will love it. nothing even comes close to these rods in till you get up there around 400+ dollars and still then the ease of the warranty and how unbelievably light they are and how comfortable the grip is you willl forget about the color and if you want it to look really cool throw you a Daiwa SOL on it. This is amazing I put a Daiwa Steez BC on a 6'9 MH Carrot stix and weighed it on my digital postal scale and the rig weighed in at 8.7ozs... that whole rig weighs less then one of my zillions just the reel...... and the balance point is so perfect on that setup it needs no counter weight and its as close to being perfectly balanced as it can be. its so light you wont believe it.... I have a TD-ITO TDZ on a carrot stix 6.6 MH XF weighs the same because the shorter rod the TDZ was .4 ozs more then the steez. just buy em and you wont want anything thing else in your hand.

As of 6 am this morning I am the proud new owner of a 6'9" parabolic carrot stix. I'm using it as my dedicated jerkbait rod. Its the lightest rod I have every felt and I love the handle. I fished jerkbaits with it most of the day today and I landed a 4.25lb and a 4.5lb smallmouth along with several smaller ones. I still love my loomis rods and I wouldn't trade them for an army of carrot stix but for the price, carrot stix are incredible rods!

As I was looking at the your picture of the Carrot stix and Zillion setups, I thought i might be looking at my own rod and reel combo. Then I realized my zillions are leftys. Carrot stix are defintely a step above other rods. Cant wait to ad more of these rods to my arsenal. ;D

man i have 6 of the carrots and absolutely love em! they are sensitive and lighter than u could ever imagine... and the handle is excellint.. fits my hands perfectly! i would recommend these things to anyone who wants a great rod at a great price!

i love both of mine and will buy more as i need them. i also had to use the warranty and it is great. i had my rod which was broke during shipping(long story) and they replaced it with just an email! great to deal with.

He loves them.

But before I consider getting one, are you guys telling me that they are very sensitive, like graphite?

the 7' foot 21CRG701MH-F-C carrot gold is one of the most sensitive rods Ive ever used... and ive been through them all. you feel everything with them and they are like holding air.

Personally I think the color is sick. I know most of you guys aren't Quantum fans but one of my blue tour editions on an orange carrot stick looks sweet! And Sam, to answer your question, they are very sensitive but they are not as sensitive as a loomis IMX or GLX IMHO but they are the most sensitive rod I've used in their price category.

the orange isnt ugly to me, I would rather have it carbon color but after i fished them I didnt give a care about the color and now I like the way they look. My TD-ITO's look simply SICK on the Carrot stix gold's.. If you took a GLX and a Carrot stix and went side by side to see what is more Sensitive (As I have done) you arent gonna truely be able to tell both rods let you feel everything. the Carrot stix in the same action/power and length as ANY ROD and it will be lighter... to me that right there is a HUGE part of how a rod feels... and there not tip heavy at all.. I sold all but a few of my GLX's and replaced them with carrot stixs for a reason and I still have a few GLX's for sell if anyone is looking for some. And people dont be scared of the guides, they handle braid like anything and have lasted as good as Fuji TI SICS that Ive had on some custom rods Ive not had a guide fail yet and i have FISHED WITH THEM A LOT! dont get me wrong though I wish they had Fuji guides on them too.. only because I love fuji guides but so far i cant complain one bit! and I keep buying more of them... and if you dont like the bright orange then buy the Carrot stix gold its a really sweet looking rod.. its more of a orangeish gold and changes hues as it moves it looks sweet

I fished with one last year for about 30 minutes before my buddy took it back. I may have been able to try it out a bit longer if I hadn't told him I intended to keep it. ;D

Very nice rod. Light and sensitive. Ugly too. The whole time I was using it i was thinking "I need to get a couple of SpongeBob bobbers to go with this thing".

the tours, the energys and the new catalyst all look great! i have had mine since they first hit the market(the orange ones). i guess the color all depends on personality. alot of older gentleman(old school) dont like the color but i have yet to meet someone of my generation that thinks they aren't at least neat lookin. change is good and why shouldnt we have some diversity?! viva la stix!

I've never used the parabolic one which is definitely lighter than the regular flippin' sticks, but I don't know what you guys are talking about.

Lighter and more sensitive than a Steez or Loomis IMX/GLX? Absolutely not, and it's not really a matter of opinion, IMO ;D

IMO, even a Shimano Crucial is more sensitive than a Carrot Stix. I bought a Carrot and traded it in for a Crucial a week later because it wasn't as sensitive as I had hoped.

The one thing I miss is the color. That's it.

Ill tell ya what i bought a carrot gold stick and its my second fav rod after my imx and glx.. imo the gold stck is more sensitive then my st croix ltb rod bar far .. and yes i like the color and id buy another one any day my only complaint is the guides do seem cheesy :'( i guess time will tell if the hold up to braid :-?

There's definitely two sides to every story.

I have played with them a few times. Not nearly as sensitive as people made them out to be, just right on par with a $150 rod. But the guides were awful, felt like they were going to cut my line. No $150 rod should have those guides, maybe $100.

Not a terrible rod, but definitely not the FOR SURE best rod in the price range.

Well, played with a few of them. Didn't find them to feel more sensitive than others, didn't like the guides at all, and yes, really,really ugly. If someone likes them, great, I see them as a $75 rod at best.

I don't have a carrot stix yet because I think they are ugly as well. Maybe if I ever own one in the near future and get to use them, I might grow fond of them, but as of now, ugly, ugly, UGLY!

I love mine, I have 2 and one more on the way. True that the guides on the LTX look like crap but after a year of continuous use they are intact.

Dobyns are much better than carrot sticks.

Zillions are much better than carrot sticks.

Crucials are much better than carrot sticks.

Daiwa light and toughs are better rods for less money than a carrot stick.

I have seen 30 dollar rods with same guides as a carrot stick. But I don't think that matters that much. I have used a carrot stick as an all purpose rod with 80lb braid for month without any guide problems.

I have 2 on the way and have only held them in BPS so cant comment too much. But man the lightness of them is worth the $130 each I didnt check out the guides really but that is about the only complaint I hear other than the color. If that was the only drawback how much would it be to replace the guides, would it be worth it then? Just thinking out loud
