29,500 yen for the jdm version. US one might be a tad cheaper.

Daiwa always has an 8:1 for the past few years now.
not in a mid priced sv reel

The SV103 for $260 online would be roughly the same price.

@bigturtle
Gear ratio doesn't really matter. Ipt is what matters to most people. The want an 8:1 for more line pick up.
The new tatula takes up 83cm which is 32.6 ipt. The sv103 7:9:1 takes up 33.6 ipt so even though the gear ratio is slower it's actually faster.
I'm actually a little surprised by the price, comes out to about $250. The way the dollar/yen is right now I would expect the us version to be significantly more than that.
I love my sv reels but I won't be paying that much for a tutula. Not when buying dicrectly is an option.Reels like the mgl and aldebaran are going for $270. Daiwa has the ss sv, alphas sv and zillion sv all for under $250.
Where are you guys finding the price point of this reel being around $250ish?

The website says msrp is 29,500 yen.
I see, thanks Ripp'n. For $40-50 more I may just get the Zillion SV TW. I was hoping this Tat SV would be around or just over $200.

There are some differences between the jdm model and the us model so it could come in a bit cheaper. It also could be a tad higher though like the jdm alphas sv '$200' and the us sv 105 '$270' We will have to wait and see once it's released around the classic.
The differences for those who are wondering...
jdm - 80mm handle and different knobs.
Usdm - 90mm handle and paddle knobs.
Thanks for the follow up. My arsenal is going to get a bit overhauled in 2017 in favor of a few more SV reels.

Just read that retail will be $199 for it.

Might not be ideal if it's as shallow as the Zillion SV spool. 65# braid or higher fills the reel up fast! Fingers crossed

Do you think they'll just eliminate the generic and 7075 spools at this point in the TW variants? Tat and Zills with SV and Steez I'm reading is getting a upgraded G1.

no...the original CT tatula/Type R isn't going anywhere. I'd venture to guess it's their best seller and a new 199$ tatula won't change that. Just filling a gap.
The Steez SV TW already has a G1 spool.

My bad was referring to the non CT models...
No there's a new Steez "A" TW model or something... ?

Correct. There is an aluminium version of the current Steez SV TW coming out called the Steez A. The current Steez SV TW already has a G1 spool. I believe the new Steez SV A will use the same spool.
The non TW steez sv also uses a G1 spool.

Gotcha! So what's gonna be the difference between existing Steez and the A model?
Back to the Tats. I love my Zillion SV TWs interested in seeing these new Tats may have to upgrade a couple combos. I wonder if these will have a pinion or be free floating.
I know nothing about Daiwas, so pardon my stupidity. What does SV mean?

The steez a will be made of alumnuim and have a 90mm tatula style handle and paddle knobs.
Unless they completley redesigned the SV spool, it will be free floating.

Steez A will have mag sealed bearings appearantly
I'll add that the new Steez "A" will be magforce Z braking system. Man I miss that crazy fast Z spool because I like to use my thumb.

The new Steez A is not equipped with the sv spool from all the pics I've seen.
Almost look like one of the Tatula SV was green or could of just been the reflection of the water.

Theres a few on google images that looks like it says g1 on the spool and magseal on the side. I could be wrong though.

It does say G1 but it doesn't say sv like all the other sv spools do. Also the tatula sv spool will be 33mm and have a pinion shaft. Here's a shot of it.

How does that work with a pinion...?
I wonder.....if its just a less deep tatula spool with a different rotor /color and sv stamped on it?

Well there ya have it! Not free floating after all. Good find bro!

I've also seen that it's been confirmed that it'll fit the new CT tatulas already out.

I need your search engine in my life lmaoo I have 2 CT Type Rs, prob not worth the jump on the spools for me. But a standard CT that's a good upgrade! I may grab one of the reels when they release if @iabass8 doesn't talk me into a couple Steez' ?

Doesn't this seem too good to be true? I didn't think it was possible to have an SV spool /w the spool shaft. Or at least a correctly functional one. Brian seemed to like it though and I'll take his word for it. Might be worth it to just buy an SV spool for folk that have current CTs. Those Tatula spools are ridiculously too deep.
For anyone interested. A store owner on another forum has said they will be $199.
Seems to be more in line with what I was expecting.

Can someone tell me whathat makes sv spool better

Not sure, this is starting to get over hyped like the SV105 did. Quite a number of users found it to be less than stellar. Then it has issues with poor fit of spool shaft inductor parts hope they fixed that for Tat CT reel.

It's probably the best spool on the market right now. You can cast both light and heavy baits with it. The magic is in the braking on the spool. It's almost impossible to backlash.
Hard to explain it until you've tried one out.
I have an SV105 and as advertised I can set the breaks to full and cast a senko straight up and let it fall and hit the water with only a few loose coils.
I also just got Zillion SV and it will thow loose coils if I have the breaks maxed and just let the lure fall so idk whats up, but I have not had time to mess with it much.
