I already have the caenan and thinks it’s rock solid. But I want to know if you could buy one shimano reel in the $150 to $250 range what would it be and why? Can anyone help me with this because I’m serioulsy considering pulling the trigger on another reel from shimano.

Curado K and potentially a Chronarch MGL.

And a citica
Curado K, and if you can afford, the Chronarch MGL. Both are best in class in my opinion.
I have 4 Shimano reels-2 Curado I's, a Citica, and the Casitas and they are all great reels. Personally the Citica is my favorite out of the group and is cheaper than the Curado's. The Casitas is a nice reel for the money and I would not hesitate to buy if you want a quality reel in that price range. I got great deals on the Curado I's but I wouldn't spend the extra money for them personally. If you are in the 125-150 range looking for a Shimano reel the Citica is the way to go in my opinion. Daiwa are my favorite reels though....Nothing beats a Lexa 100H in the 100-125 range if you can find them. I lost mine overboard and man do I miss that reel!

Get a chronarch.
I was gonna buy either K or Chronarch but end up with another curado 70 :). This will be the 3rd one and I hated it.
The Chronarch MGL is my favourite reel at the moment. I have 2 looking to add another in the near future. You can find them around the top range of your limit. I warn you, if you thought the Caenan was good....you’ll not look back!
Dont ask me. I love and use the old pearl Chronarch 101's LOL
I have three Chronarch 100a that are almost 20 years old. Just got them back from their annual service. Original bearings still nice and quiet. I replaced the drag washers with Carbonex washers. These reels are awesome and still work like they did when they were new. I'm keeping them forever.
You can still find a pretty nice Chronarch 100a on ebay. Pick one up and have it serviced, install a carbonex drag washer and if it needs it replace the bearings with Shimano OEM Bearings. PM me if you want to know details about where I send mine for service.
It's not the fanciest or most advanced, but to me the Curado 200E7 is best all around reel they ever made.

For guys that use Shimano and want to get them serviced try this guy ...

Sound good but pretty pricey, the good thing is turn around time if you want them quick. DVT just billed me for my 2 reels and cheaper per reel. The bad part is he is too d**n busy so you'd better plan a head (that why I only send 2-3 reels a time. Just FYI.

Not that one per se but I love my Chronarch 100 SF.
I just bought a Chronarch MGL last year, and it's easily the best feeling and casting reel I've ever used. It's incredible, like literally I'm waiting for my luck to run out because it performs so flawlessly. If you've got the coin for it I would go that route, it's truly a great reel.
Truly appreciate all the feedback fellas.
Another vote for the Chronarch MGL- butter smooth, great casting reel that handles steel head with ease...........
Ive been doing a lot of reading and I think that MGL is calling me. I know it’s more than 250 but I forgot I have gift cards from tackle warehouse.
No turning back now! Keep us posted!

Good luck on the reel!

Ebay has some good deals so Curados can be obtain at a great price. The MGL is good, but I think its hard to beat the Curado K. The Curado K is an awesome reel especially at the price.
Is weight an issue? Also, is line capacity a concern?
MGL is around an ounce lighter, but the Curado K has around 15-20% more line capacity.
Weight isn’t an issue for me. I was looking at the line capacity but I’m not overly concerned about that because I use backing on my reels. I kind of feel like if I’m really only going to get one more shimano I would rather go a little higher end. I’m a Abu guy for life but Shimano definitely peaks my interest.
I honestly don't think you can go wrong with the Curado K or MGL. Both are great reels! If you have the money to spend then try the MGL. You wont be disappointed.

Like @Preytorien said if you have the coin the chronarch is the reel to go with it’s got the mgl spool that makes casting effortless almost backlash free and it’s really got a solid feel it’s way better than the k and that’s why it’s deserving at its price point not only that the chronarch is such a good reel it holds its value years down the line much more than a k as a matter of fact the k is already selling for almost half it’s price which goes to show you that even it’s Predecessor the green curado or the G held its value better because it still sells at the same price as the k does new on eBay. I’m sorry brother but the two reels are incomparable the chronarch is a much better more refined reel. However if your on a budget you can go with the currudao k which is a good solid shimano but can’t be compared to a chronarch with its mgl spool micro Module gears and solid composite material making it the glock of casting reels.
