I tried this line years ago and didn't care for it. However, I gave it another run and absolutely loved the stuff! Fisherman are notoriously anal about different things and line is it for me. I try all sort of different lines and usually find faults with them.
However, I spooled my new BC with 10lb Camo green Yozuri Hybrid and thought it was great. It had very little memory, casts silky smooth, hauled a big gal out of some brush this weekend without a hitch, and seemed pretty abrasion resistant. The wind was 25 miles plus so I managed to fling more than a few jerkbaits into the buck brush. I didn't feel any nicks on the line.
Have I found my new line for '09? I have to give it more time but I'm impressed so far.
Good to hear...............soon will you be "highly recomending" this line to any one who asks about any line of any type in any thread? :
Treat it with KVD Line & Lure conditioner and you will like it even
more!

Good to hear I picked up some this winter, hoping to use it for the first time soon. thanks for reassuring me that it was a good purchase.
Alright! I like it, too.
Maybe we can form an Yo-Zuri Hybrid Posse!
I love it, but I can't buy it locally anymore. For the last few years the local Cabela's, Gander Mountain, and Wal Mart all carried it. This year none of them have it. Is this becoming a trend?
I ordered two spools of the line, got it in a week or so ago. I spooled a reel today and went out to practice some casting. I will say all those people who think the 12lb is stiff are just wrong. They must of tried it a long time ago. I was casting weights down the drive (paved) burning it back it, the pavement didn't nick the line at all, even the line tied to the bullet weights didn't break, I can't say that about the 15lb mono I was using as it broke where the weights were rubbing. Can't wait til it is warm enough to go fishing.
Will I love the 15lb. camo green if I use a conditioner or is that just too heavy for yo-zuri....????
I've used 15lb for flipping. I didn't have a problem with it, but never had to throw it far.
BTW, I don't use Hybrid heavier than 12lb, now. 12lb Hybrid breaks at 19.5 lbs, and 15lb Hybrid breaks at 21.5. To me, 12lb was much more manageable than 15lb.
You may have to look around to find the Yo-Zuri lines.
You may have to order the Ultra Soft from Cabella's.
Just what I have found in the Richmond, Virginia area.

You can use #15 with heavier lures. I have it spooled on my jig rod,
big treble hook rig (Lamiglas SR705R) and the set-up I use for small
swimbaits (Mattlures Baby Bass) and Ledgebuster Single Willow Blade
spinnerbait. Otherwise, most people will find #12 to be the right size
for baitcasters.

BassPro still has the 1/4 and 1/8 spools on sale, for 5.88 and 4.88.
The problem I find is getting hold of the ultra soft. It only seems to be available from a couple different places.

Hmm... even #10 XT, or P-line cxx is "easy handling"
does this line float or sink?
Floats
Technically, surface tension keeps most of the line on top of
the water, but it's not buoyant like a PFD. This has absolutely
no impact on fishing any class of lure.

From reading many posts that R.W. has made on the subject, I bought 6 lb test and 12lb and tried the Ultra Soft. I loved it. I was fairly satisfied with the Cabelas Pro Line previously, but liked the strength and less stretch of Yozuri. I ended up buying bulk spools from Cabela's in 6, 10 and 12. A few squirts of KVD line conditioner make it extremely managable. I use pure floro only as leader material. I think Yozuri Ultra-Soft gives you many of the benefits of floro without the drawbacks like high price and casting difficulties of some pure floro lines. Glad I switched.

Correct and I like Yozuri better which is why I started the thread.

Anyone considering Yo-Zuri Hybrid should take advantage of this sale.

Thanks Roadwarrior,
I have to kill some time between 9 AM breakfast meeting at Panera Bread and an 11:30 AM lunch at Brio Tuscan so I may go by the BPS and check out the Yo-Zuri Sale.
The best thing about my meetings is that others will pay!!! ;D
Better monetary investment in Yo-Zuri line than food anyway.
I tried the Ultra Soft last year and have not looked back. It can be a little hard to find, but luckily our local Cabelas has it in stock.
Later,
How does visibility of this line compare to mono or flurocarbon. I note in their website they mention strength/low memory. Assume line diameter comparable to mono ? :-?
I spooled all my spinning reels with 8lb hybrid last season.....I loved it.
But I've been considering stepping up to a 100% Flouro for a few reasons.
Invisibility, sensitivity, and sinking line.
I'm torn though because of so many conflicting opinions on the various Flouro's. I'm debating just sticking with Yo-Zuri
Bass Pro didn't have the 12lb spools but I got the 10lb in smoke and 20lb in green for the big bass lake I fish.
Is the diameter of this stuff more than mono? I keep hearing how the 12 is really 15 and so forth.
I would have to double check but I want to say it was actually smaller than Trilene XL when comparing 8lb to 8lb

The industry does not have set standards, but Ande is a good proxy.
Ande lines hold more World Records than all other brands combined
and is IGFA certified. #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Ultra Soft have EXACTLTY
the same diameters as Ande Premium (.010"); #12 Hybrid is slightly
thinner, .013" vs .014".

I remember I bought whole spool of this stuff at Wal-Mart for $2.99 on Clearance. Thinking nothing of it I only bought 1, got back to the lake tried it out and loved it! I was shocked when I looked again at another Wal-Mart to see the price tag at $12.99
