Im going nutso here. Tracking says my new Revo S will be here today in the mail. Mail is anywhere from 2:30-4:00. I'm going nuts.
Edited to add. It has finally arrived. This sucker is super light. With 30# braid and reel grips, she comes in at 7.8 ounces!!
My lord this is dead sexy. I have the 7' Medium Abu garcia Veritas Micro Guide rod paired with it. This is my dedicated top water rod. I like to throw Popr's and with the smaller model it lauched them big time. I have about 80 yards of braid spooled, backed with mono. I didn't measure it, but I launched this small popr about 65 yards. My neighbors think I am retarded.
With the rod coming in at 4.2 ounces, this entire combo is 12 ounces of pure black and white magic! Ok enough with the cheesy advertising.
This is super smooth. I have two brand new STX's and this new S is right up there with them.
Here are some pictures.
Put up some pics when it arrives...and let us know how the reel performs. Still waiting for my reel from THUT but have no idea when they would be shipping it.

Will do. Camera battery is charged
Operation Revo is a go! I'm still torn between the stx and the s.
Got my Gen3 STX yesterday. Local tackle shop has the S, SX and STX models in. Tore it down last night (bearings were way over lubed, of course, like most every reel). Hope to get it on the water tomorrow. Nice little reel on the bench!
Hope yours comes in.
Looks great on that Veritas. I've got mine on a Veritas too and tried it out this morning. EVERYONE, the new Revo S is now my favorite reel! I bought three and I truthfully feel it is as good as my $200.00 Chronarchs. I'm not kidding. For $129.95 it is a STEAL! It is awesome and so smooth. (Talk to your local tackle dealer, I asked mine if I would get any discounts if I bought 3 and he said yes, 15% with cash or 10% with credit card) That's why I buy from my local dealer. Anywho fished with it today for 4 hours and could not put it down. Way beyond my expectations so far.
Wow that is BAD AZZ! Let me know how she performs. I'm chomping at the bit to pick one of these up. Operation Revo is complete for you lol.
I have last years "S" that I really really like.
Do any of you guy's have one also?
If you do, other than this years model being a little lighter, and the color [which I don't care about] what are the main differences in the 2?
Thanks
Mike
I don't have one, but from Abu Garcia's product video, it has a beefier D2 gear system, new X2 alloy frame wider spool, and lower profile. Makes waffles, takes care of your kids and pets, mows lawn etc.

Will do. I am going to Tuesday morning to a good lake and plan on fishing it heavy.
You should really get one. I can't say enough about it. Bass Pro has a sale going on where you can stretch payments out for 6 months no interest without using their credit card. That's how I got mine.
Operation Revo is complete for me now lol but I will have to think of another reason to buy another one

Don't forget it washes the truck!
Seriously the new models have a bent star and bent handle that is more ergonomic and looks cool. Brand new style of gears which are stronger. Wider spool, more low profile, lighter and on the bottom of the reel it has a lube port like the Pro Qualifiers from Bass Pro.
Thanks Fellas:
A local tackle shop down here has last years for 99.00.
Looks like the extra 30.00 for this years may be worth it.
Thanks
Mike
You jerk! Lol. I just called Bass Pro to get more info and I'm in. Just ordered my S and am gonna take back my vendetta and pay the difference for a veritas. This will effectively retire my black max 2 as it's getting evicted off it's vendetta to make a home for my SX. Thanks a lot lol!On 9/9/2012 at 7:18 AM, rockchalk06 said:Will do. Lol. Dont mention it
Don't forget they have free shipping on orders of 75 or more too.
That white combo looks killer!
I got my reel shipped to the store so hopefully it arrives fairly quickly. Picked up a 7ft mh veritas micro guide rod tonight at BPS so I'm ready! Where did you get those b/w handle grips? Looks cool with those on.On 9/9/2012 at 8:08 AM, rockchalk06 said:Lol. Dont mention it

I'm taking a break as the fishing is slow, but this new Revo I'd the shat! Hope yours gets here quick.
As for the grips, they are reel grips. I get them at Bass Pro and Academy Sports. They are mega comfortable and set the whole set up off. I have them on every reel even my spinning.

Sure does look purdy! White is growing on me! I got an SX ordered for my kids B-day. Hope its here in time!
I wanted an sx but I'm done with mag only brake systems.

Mine took 2 days to process. They have to debit two additional payments just as authorized before they ship it.

Amen to that. I finally got sick of my Silver Max and issues with it. Traded it in back to Bass Pro. It was over 30 days so I got a merchandise card. Got me some fluoro and 40 dollars worth of tubes.
It got debited today so hopefully it goes out tomorrow. Got it shipped to the store so hopefully they call me asap when it gets in. Next week is my bday and I'm going on a 3 day fishing/camping trip and I'd like to take it with me.On 9/12/2012 at 7:48 AM, rockchalk06 said:Mine took 2 days to process. Thats a hellova bday present!
I had alot of fun today with mine. I ended up turning all but 2 breaks off and the spool control knob tightend just enough to stop the side to side play of the spool. Kinda sad, but I have been having more fun with it than my two STX's lol
Tracking says its on its way to my store so should definitely have it before my trip. You should make a youtube review on the reel for us rock.

I agree you should definitely make a youtube video so we can see the reels in action
The people have spoken lol.
This will be my first centrifugal brake system. Is it pretty easy to set up? The main reason I wanted the S, was because my back lashes come from me whipping my casts. Will the brakes on the S eliminate that? I sure hope so, as my Revo SX is driving me insane. On 9/12/2012 at 8:32 AM, rockchalk06 said:Thats a hellova bday present!

After I figured it out, it was. The owners manual is the old one. I have two of the pitch brakes clicked on and the remaining pitch and spring loaded breaks all off. I have my spool control knob set to fall about 12" a second. I have to thumb the spool just a tad and I get no issues.
I think its going to help on backlashes on the whipping. I would suggest trying not to whip it so much as let the rod load and give her hell.

I think we should talk Gene into buying on and doing a video. I don't have a video camera with tripod and I don't want to look like some of those fools on you tube using their phones.
Don't forget the new gen3 sx has a totally different brake system. We haven't had an issue with the gen 1 or 2 SX. So, I guess we are lucky?
The gen 3 sx is the same magtrax brake system that the max family of reels has.
A snap cast with a centrifugal reel is easier than with a mag reel, but it is still possible to backlash. Be smooth. I will help a lot.
I can make snap casts with my black max, but my revo sx gets it's panties in a wad and wants to overrun a little too much. I'm hoping the S will be more forgiving and give me time to refine my casts more.

Do you like to flip or pitch jigs? The SX, IMO would make a better pitching reel than a straight up casting reel. I use my STX as its an extra I have or I would have purchased and SX for my pitching rod.
Btw I can stress this enough you are gonna love that new S brother. If you don't I promise to let you kick me in the junk!
LMAO! I'm sure I will love it. My Veritas is just sitting in the corner mocking me, but my tracking says that my reel is on their "retail truck", so hopefully I don't have much longer to wait. Does it have a clicker in the drag and spool tension knob??
Yes it does. Both do.
Got my S. Just now picked it up from BPS. I must say, you were right. This reel screams quality, and is ridiculously smooth. Is it me, or is Abu using better spool bearings in the Gen 3s? The spool spun forever compared to my REVO SX. I can't wait to take this sucker out for a day. I exchanged my Veritas with the cracked guide. I checked my new one over about 10 times to make sure it didn't have the same issue. Only I get it home, and see the second guide from the bottom looks like it's cracked lol. I can't win. I'm just gonna try to get some epoxy and put a dab to seal it off and be done with it. I love my Revo SX and Vendetta combo, but the S and the Veritas just feel so much better. Good call Rock.

Thanks. Now throw a 1/2 oz weight on it and hit the neighbors truck that lives 3 houses down!!!!!
We need a review lol
Just talked to my local dealer today. Said he would have a few in a couple of weeks and was going to sell them for $109. I asked about the Veritas rods, but not very popular rod around this area of South Louisiana.
I'm interested to see how everyone likes them before I commit.
I've looked at the Daiwa Tierra in comparison. I'll compare the reviews on both of those.

thats good because youll be the snazziest fisheman at the lake....veritas is a great rod, beautiful looking, light, sensitive and strong
I have a Veritas micro guide rod, but I have yet to fish with it. It's incredibly light, and I really like the exposed reel seat but I didn't at first. Back to the REVO S, I can't wait until mid October so I can pick up a carbon fiber handle for mine.

I can atest to the Veritas. I have 4 total and am planning on 2 more after Christmas. The Micro Guide 7' rod is only 4.2 oz. I ripped a 2.6 pound bass out of the crud today with a made for TV hook set and felt just as comfortable doing the same with it as my 7'11 lighting rod lol
I can see a Gen 3 STX in my future sitting atop a Villain rod.
