As some of you may have heard rumor has it a new Curado E will be debuted at Icast.
THANKS HAYDEN!
Right hand retrieve = no good for me.
We need some love for LH reels.
I was thinking that black and white color scheme might look pretty seated on a Veritas. hmm

Keep dreaming...
I think it's a Curado/Chronarch mix, hopefully around the $200 range.
One sexy reel. We'll have to get a few buddy.

Anyone have a link to the preview? Or is the pic all that has been released?
There wasn't a preview. Dave Mercer posted that picture on his Facts of Fishing facebook page. He mentioned how nice it was to fish with the 2012 Shimano lineup.
Bantam1: "It will be another big year for us."
That reel is ugly! However, as one who usually chooses function over form, I might have to add it to the arsenal. I would be willing to guess that the final paint job will be different because that thing is ugly! Did I already say that?

watchu talking about!! That 2 tone paintjob is sick!
I didn't think it was possible to make it less attractive than the Hunter Green color.

haha....some how they succeeded.
I wonder if that is a new Cumulus he is using too.
All over one pic? Cool aid drinkers....

Yeah, not so sure about that black and white color...I'll have to see it in person before I really judge it.If it works anything like the previous curados or better it's gonna be a good reel regardless.
Honestly I want to start seeing reels that have "bait colors"......I'd buy a june bug or Watermeolon colored reel in a heartbeat...LOL
well since hunter green is my favorite color... I just say.. WINNING... the new stuff if its black and white is not to my taste...

From another forum:
The reel in the picture is the new Chronarch according to a very reliable source who actually got to test it out and fish it. They told me there are going to be price reductions in the Chronarch and Curado series. Each reel is going to come in 5:1, 6:1, and 7:1 models, both will be avalible in the 50 size too.
d**n.
Shimano is doin' GOOD.

Makes sense ,it needed a update.Looks like septon grips just like the curado.
I'm liking the idea of a Chronarch 50e7 or whatever they will call it. Maybe the F or G series.
I really want a sneak peak of the Curado, too. But there's only so much a guy can ask for. I think they will re-do the Compre and Crucial line as well as introducing new NRX's and Cumulus rods.
I also think the new Chronarchs will fill the gap between the $180 Curado and the $300 Chronarch price wise.
Looking forward to the clearance sales on the current version.
Well, I guess I am holding off getting that 200e7 then!

Screw the Lew's! That Chronarch would look too sweet on a Zillion rod or Cumara.
Hookingem, how about getting Craig to get you into ICAST and you can give us first hand reports and photos??????
I have fished with 3 generations fo Curados and been pleased with each of them, I can't wait for the new ones to be released!!

I really dig the green paint (it's actually my favorite thing about the E7), but that thing in the pic is just hideous.

I wish.... Maybe I will be lucky enough to go the big rock show in september
IDK if thats the new cumulus rod. Not saying im an expert picture analyzer, but it looks like the name of the rod doesnt end with an "s" but maybe a "n" ? Maybe it will be a step up from the Cumara but cheaper than the Cumulus. Also, I think that reel looks hideous.
Word has it the Crucial and Compre line will be re-vamped with better guides and EVA split-grips.
Daiwa has apparently "moved towards focusing on their salt lineup" and won't be introducing any reel in the $180-$200 price point. At this point I doubt they will for several years.
Don't get your hopes up for anything new and great in the US market from Daiwa.
There is supposed to be a new and improved PowerPro,too.
New models in the NRX series as well.

It looks like it has the name Cumulus etched into the foam grip. It also looks like he is using a Cumulus spinning rod and a few CI4s.
Any word on a new Citica? I noticed it was on sale also.

I saw the etching into the foam grip but the words threw me off. However if it's a prototype in testing they may have just threw a Cumulus foam grip on it. But the picture wasn't great quality so I guess we'll have to wait eh?
I saw a Tackle Wharehouse add on FB. They are blowing out the current Curado E7's for $139. Guess there making room for the new models. Knowing Shimano, the new reels will be impressive.
I don't think Daiwa will let Shimano just swoop in and win everyones heart with newer better reels at the same price point. Especially since their less than $200 reel area has just been on par. Maybe nothing this year but I predict that Daiwa may be brewing something for the 2012 iCAST.
On the New PowerPro talk - I really hope so. Power Pro is a great, sensitive strong line but it fishes like rope. So rough and loud. I think they'll come out with a 8-strand like everyone else
