Hybrid Line Vs Floro 2024

fishing user avatarmhilgtx reply :

I recently bought a roll of 12lb BPS KVD Floro for my first dip into something other than mono. and man o man the difference in sensativivity is amazing.

So my question is do the copolymer or hybrid lines have the same type of sensitivity? I assume they will be much softer.

fishing user avatartater555 reply :

From what I have experienced the hybrid lines (copolymer) are just a tad less sensitive than flouro, but alot more manageable. But I have to admit that the only flouro I have tried is seagar red label, and the only copolymer I have tried is yozuri hybrid. I now run yozuri hybrid on all my rods except for my flipping rod and have no problems detecting bites, plus the breaking strength is amazing with it.

fishing user avatarMaxximus Redneckus reply :

Hybrid all day ..only thing floro is good for is crystal clear water and small bass

My experience exactly.  Haven't touched flouro since I discovered Yozuri

fishing user avatarPreytorien reply :

I use YZ Hybrid and McCoy Mean Green and both are incredibly limp. After I treat it with KVD Line and Lure it hangs off my spinning reel like braid.....no twist. I love the stuff.

fishing user avatarTrenton reply :

Wow so the hybrid is that good? I've been looking at it for some time now but haven't bought any just yet. I rarely string up a full floro spool mostly use it as a leader for clear water or drop shot/finesse techniques. Might have to look into yozuri

That has to be one of the funniest post ever..... only good for small bass..... ha ha

fishing user avatarkikstand454 reply :

I also experimented with various flouro's. ... but in the end I went back to YZ hybrid on all rods except flippin and frogs.

fishing user avatarAlonerankin2 reply :

I tend to use a fc in 6 for wacky rigging, Yo for about everything else, with cxx, and cx being used as well. Silverthread is a good line.

However, I'm now very concerned that I will

Only catch small bass on FC line! What shall I do?

fishing user avatarmhilgtx reply :

Thanks guys I am making the switch. How is it with bottom contact?

fishing user avatardoyle8218 reply :

Yo-Zuri is a great all purpose line.

X2

Have used YH for about 5 years now in many applications..awesome overall line. Like the low stretch too ;)

My only negative is that it appears Yo-Zuri is now only making the line in clear. I really liked the Camo Green... Anyone have any scoop why it's going to only one color?

Plenty good, a good rod helps as well as doing your part.. = Success!

Shop around, Yo-Zuri is still making green and smoke. Green blends better in clear

water, smoke in stained water.

Well...

I use floro for all bottom contact presentation's except punching matts.

Yo Zuri for all moving baits.

Right or wrong it works for me.

The more I think about these "which line is best " threads, the more I believe that it's like asking

"Which brand of gas and what octane is best to use in my vehicle ?"

They all work but everyone has a favorite which often revolves around performance & price.

fishing user avatarChoporoz reply :

As I've said on this and many other threads,I'm a YoZuri fan. However I have to admit that I have some nagging doubts when I read monthly Bassmaster and every single pro is always claiming that they're spooled with flouro

fishing user avatarBrianinMD reply :

There are no rules to which line to use, or reels or rods....... use what works for you.

Well you should use the recommended octane level for the vehicle as to the brand I have always been told to switch up as often as possible due to slightly different detergants and other properties brand to bring. In general gasoline is gasoline is gasoline the differences being the additives. At least that is the way a TMC USA engineer explained it to me one day.

As far as lines go it might be the same I don't know, but I am trying to learn.

fishing user avatarDarren. reply :

I, too, have BPS fluoro (white box) and do use

it from time to time.

But I mainly use Yo-Zuri Hybrid in green for my

leaders. One reason is because I have bought

so much of it (for cheap) in 600 yard spools.

That lasts a LONG time when used as a leader!!

So I agree that it is a great all-around line. I have

no problem using it for bottom contact, wacky,

TX, Mojo, Jika, cranks, spinnerbaits, etc.

Thanks for the tip.

I'm all set on the gasoline deal - It was an analogy.

I plan to be using it for 1/4 once finesse jigs this year

fishing user avatarkikstand454 reply :

I use hybrid for everything.

I stopped throwing flouro on jigs. Deep or shallow. I barely noticed any difference at all. MAYBE a touch less sensitive? I doubt it. Its probably mental. Absolutely 0 regrets and no plans to change in the foreseeable future.

This all day long. Haven't noticed a change in sensitivity. Happy I'm not the only one

fishing user avatarmhilgtx reply :

So BPS doesn't have Yo Zuri line. Or at least the one by me doesn't so I got some P Line Floroclear to try. I also got some cc and cxx figured I would see which of the three I like best.

fishing user avatarTrenton reply :

Hop on ebay i just found a guy selling yo zuri in 600yd rolls for 7.99 I got it in 4,8,10lb just gotta get 12,15lb and I'm set. I also got 300yards of power pro 65lb for $10 on an auction

fishing user avatarmhilgtx reply :

Got to fish for a few minutes today and the P Line Floroclear is much much more cast able than the BPS KVD 100% florocarbon. Sensativity was very comparable.

fishing user avatarMaxximus Redneckus reply :

Floro has to many cons for me to even look at a box instore.i can feel a fish think with my calluosed hands and i see my line move when a Fish farts all with mono
