http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/g-loomis-E6X-2815.html
Its been awhile since loomis had a rod below 200$
I paid like 160 for my old blue GL2s back in 2003 at bps
Looks to be a decent stick...hopefully better than the current gl2.
Loomis needs this ti be a good rod since they dont have anything at all at the under 200 price point
It can't get any worse than their $200 GL2 right? Their GL2 must not be doing well to introduce a line that will compete with it.

It cant be easy to get someone into your brand for 200$ starting
Croix, powell, fenwick, shimano, diawa and the rest all have good sticks i the 100-200 range. And we all know how awesome those companies rods are once we get inti the 200 range
Problem witb loomis right now is the rods dont impress until you get to teh glx. My croix ltb and 13 *** are just as good as the glx for way less money
Company's in a court of law say their sorry with money, fishing company's say their sorry by introducing the curado I and the E6X rod!
Sounds really good to me, as well...

Not really understanding your statement regarding my statement? Is the GL2 going away?

No the gl2 isnt going away. This will ne a chance for the gl2 to earn its price point
I think the E6x is gonna put a ton of pressure on loomis to get the gl2 and imx into being worth thier price. ( not that they are bad at all) but they coukd be so much more for what they cost
That might make for one awesome rig for under 400 bucks...should be able to do it for 350ishOn 2/9/2015 at 12:30 AM, Alonerankin2 said:Company's in a court of law say their sorry with money, fishing company's say their sorry by introducing the curado I and the E6X rod!

This is an exciting event. I can't wait to get my hands on one and try it out for myself.
I'm also looking forward to reviews by our members.
Woo-Hoo!
Im thinkin i may have to be a guinea pig for one if i can score it under msrp
The only reason the GL2 may not go away is because the line has been around for so long. Otherwise it'll be like the Tatula $150 and Lexa $140. With the Lexa just being ordinary and the Tatula being one of the best bang for the buck I predicted the demise of the Lexa.
I had the GL2 worn n jig rod and couldn't stand it. I would think sales and reviews reflect this and Gloomis took note as to why they built a line at about the same price point. That's my theory lol.
I would have really liked to see a 781 or 841 CBR. However if they beat the Tatula and *** in sensitivity, I could see owning a few. I like lime green.
I love the G. Loomis rods I own but for whatever reason I have my doubts about this offering.
Looks good to me!!

Im curious to see how the e6x stacks against the muse black from 13
Both will be in the 175-190 price range
The *** is d**n hard to beat for 120...it fishes welk above its price point, so does the *** for that matter
These two rods cover most of what you need as far as baitcasters are concerned:
E6X 853C JWR-- The do it all, medium-heavy casting rod designed to fish medium-sized soft plastics, soft-plastic jerkbaits, 1/4 to 1/2-ounce jigs and even big topwaters. The extra length (7'1") increases tip-speed, which in turn, extends your casting range, helps you recover line quicker and is a big help with hooksets. A great alternative for fishing 4-5" hollow belly swimbaits., and also just a great all around casting rod.
E6X 843C CBR-- A 7’ one-piece rod designed to throw small to medium-sized crankbaits. It’s a great choice for square bills and will handle big bass, yet it's light enough to fish all day long with minimal fatigue, providing maximum accuracy and control. E6X technology allow us to make it soft enough for the bass to engulf the bait with plenty of reserve power to bring that fish-of-a-lifetime to your boat!
Looking forward to getting to feel some of these. I know their top of the line are just that, top of the line, but well out of my and the average angler's price range.

I think that may be, because we have gotten used to the idea, that for a Loomis to be a good rod,
it has to cost $400 to $500. Maybe this will change all that. I for one, sure hope so.

Yes I hope so!
I doubt they will be as good as the new imx series, which were a big disappointment for me anyway. I'm not getting my hopes up.
We will see...The commitment is HUGE!
I'm pretty excited to check out these rods. All of the reviews from folks that were able to test them say they outperform their price.
I am anxious to see these rods as well. It seems like the $100-$200 price range for rods is becoming very highly competitive. I will definitely be giving these new Loomis rods a shot...
I also see the rods are manufactured in the USA and come with the Loomis life time warranty, very nice...
I'm really hoping that these will hit a store somewhere near me when they are released, I'd really like to try one. I've wanted to try a Loomis for a while but their current rods in that price range don't seem to have very good reviews.
Looking forward to the reviews on these, if good, might just have to pick one up.
More toys for my boys!
I went to my local tackle shop today and they had a couple of the prototypes. I'm not sure how much of a change they made from these, but I'm certain the blank is probably the same as the model coming out. I will say I have never owned a Gloomis. Anyways they look nice, but it felt very tip heavy. I'm sure this would level out with a reel on it, but it did feel a little heavy compared to other rods of theirs I have held. They would definitely match up to the new JDM zillion 9:1 too!! This was a smart move on their part as I think this is the most important price point for a company to target.

Do you recall which exact rod you got to see, touch, feel?
It was a 7'1 MH
I have one on order that should arrive in a week or so. I will post my review
soon after fishing the rod on a few outings. This is the rod:

Alright.
I think I'm gonna get one of the spinning rods.
Torn between the 6'8 medium EF jig and worm, and the 6'6 medium F spin jig.
Wondering which one will be more versatile.

Just going by my Loomis experience I'd go with the XF version. Especially if you are using jigs that need some backbone on it.
To be honest I probably won't be jigging with the rod. But I will be throwing lighter Trigged and weightless plastics.
was just at the toronto fishing show and had one in my hand. Nice rod. But sorry not sure at the price point i would chose it over the avid x. The new megabass crank was there aswell and looks awesome

How was balance, guides, etc?
I picked up the spiniing rod. balance and guides were both nice. I thought the rod looked really cool aswell. Ijust think the avid x is lighter and 40 bucks cheaper

I assume those are Canadian prices. I thought the avid x was 200 and the new loomis was 180

You're right on. Arbitrarily high up here for no good reason.

So you think I will be fine with the fast if I'm not using it for jigs?

Yes, shouldn't be an issue. You'd have no problems probably with finesse jigs on a M/F too.
Awesome. Thanks man.On 2/14/2015 at 10:06 AM, lmbfisherman said:Yes, shouldn't be an issue. You'd have no problems probably with finesse jigs on a M/F too.
This will be the most I've spent on a rod and wanted to get that straight.

Before you make a decision though I'd still get one in hand. I am just going by my experience with Loomis power/actions that I have. So you still should base your decision on feel. I would never buy a rod without holding it.
I've handled a few Loomis rods at my local shop. They felt a little lighter than their rating. Could just be me though.

What rods do you use now? Compared to a Abu Garcia and St. Croix's I owned, they do feel lighter. To me "personal preference" this is the power/action I feel is what they should be. That is why I usually buy these rods the most. Trust me though, they may feel lighter/wimpy, but they have the backbone to handle the situations you ask of them.
I have a couple veritas. 2.0 I believe. And a couple lower end daiwas.
The veritas if anything feel under their ratings and the daiwas feel just right.
That is to ME at least.

Daiwa lower ends which I have experience with would definitely be stiffer. If that is what you prefer you might favor the XF rod more.

I've handled my fair share of veritas, own a loomis imx and a lower end daiwa Procyon. A medium heavy veritas in my opinion is much heavier not in weight but back bone than a 3 power loomis. My medium daiwa feels about the same as the 3 power loomis. They both share the same lure rating 1/4-3/4 and closing my eyes I would be hard pressed to tell the difference. I love the Procyon. If you were looking for a nice spinning rod I would look for a sjr782/842 and if you felt you needed more power a sjr783/843. I like to fish light so I would go for 782 and I think you would have no problem getting a hookset with that rod.

Thanks for the suggestion!
I checked them out and I might just go for the 782
Well, I am looking forward to member reviews after we have a few "in hand".
My guess is that the rods will be comparable to the prior generation of IMX,
but perhaps a little lighter.

Can you imagine getting IMX quality for under $200.00
WOW, just WOW!!
Hootie
The previous generation imx rods are much better than the new ones imo. I sold my new imx right away after using it. Still love my old imx's. I wouldn't even pay $200 for one of the new models. On 2/16/2015 at 1:02 AM, roadwarrior said:Well, I am looking forward to member reviews after we have a few "in hand".

I will be a skeptic, until more people get it... Pretty disappointed with the direction IMX line headed.
I don't believe it will take long for the rod line to be vetted! I'm remaining optimistic till I know otherwise...
