Best Fluorocarbon line for spinning reels. 2024

fishing user avatarkrisjack69 reply :

I want to know what is the best Fluorocarbon line for my shimano sedona 2500FB?I would give yo-zuri ultra soft but I can't cast as far with it.I want the best fluorocarbon line that cast great with my spinning reel.I use it on my baitcaster with no problems now I want to try it on my spinning gear.I am using you zuri line now but I am running low on my spinning reel right now thats effecting the distance of my casts.Any help would be great.

fishing user avatarb.Lee reply :

Sunline FC Sniper 7#

It is what I like and use, but it is expensive.

fishing user avatarHooligan reply :

Best?  Without a doubt it's Seaguar Tatsu.  I'm fishing it on I think 6 rigs now, one of those is spinning.  It's far and away the best fluorocarbon line made.

After that, the best I used was Toray Bawo SuperFinesse.

fishing user avatarkrisjack69 reply :

Ok what is the best that is not 30 to 40 dollars a spool lol.Thats alot for line.I may try it tho.Line is the most important aspect of fishing besides the bait.

fishing user avatarCarrington reply :

if you want the best then use toray, then this is it.  THis company makes other brands of flouro that are also pretty close to the best.  This stuff is only for finesse.

In all seriousness, Tatsu beats Toray in every aspect, in terms of being fishable.  It's softer while still having incredible abrasion resistance.  It's very easy to cast, spools well on the reel, and has excellent knot strength as well.  If you're fishing Toray, you'll love Tatsu.

fishing user avatarCarrington reply :

ive heard good things about tatsu, was just trying to give him another option.

fishing user avatarHooligan reply :

Yeah, I'm sorry.  I misunderstood your initial post.  I really, like the Toray line, too.  That's all I fished on my spinning rods (for fluoro) prior to Tatsu.

fishing user avatarjenga reply :

I really like Invisx by Seguar. It is 20 dollars a spool but well worth the money I think.

Jenga

This would be my vote for the Seaguar!

fishing user avatarroadwarrior reply :

Tatsu is the finest line I have ever fished, but just too

expensive for everyday use. I found Seaguar InvizX #8

to be good on spinning tackle, AbrazX #12 on baitcasting

gear. However, unless you feel you need fluorocarbon for

ultra clear water, other lines make a better choice.

Suggestions other than fluorocarbon: P-Line CXX,

Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Ultra Soft, Izorline and Sunline

monofilament for some applications (jerkbaits).

8-)

fishing user avatarPrimus reply :

I tried 6# Suffix last year, it performed well.

fishing user avatarPowerFinesse reply :

Seagaur InvizX or if price is an issue Viscous..

Just a heads up, watch Cabela's and if you've a Scheels near.  I've bought spools of Tatsu at $30 recently.

fishing user avatarplymouthrockbass reply :

i gotta agree with the invisx. I had a ton of trouble with flouro on spinning reels before i switched to invisx. I love the stuff

fishing user avatarMr SwimJig reply :

SeaGuar InvizX is great line and it is not going to break the bank.  Its about $20.00 a spool and is great line.

fishing user avatarAluma-Bass reply :

another vote for InvizX   :)

fishing user avatar5bass reply :

Sunline FC Super Sniper

fishing user avatarkrisjack69 reply :

I dont have a scheels no where close to be since I live in GA.Closest outdoor store chain to me is bass pro and academy in macon about 2 hours away 109 miles so I only been to a bass pro shop once.I slept in a snowy cabelas parking lot in my tractor trailer truck.

fishing user avatarBig Bait Fishing reply :

you want great handling , try some braid as the main line and fluorocarbon for a leader . i use 10# power pro and Toray Super hard Strong fluorocarbon leader for my spinning setups ( between 3-7 ft.) the fluoro i mentioned (Toray) is the best i have ever used , that Tatsu is too stretchy for me as i like to feel my bait all the time . i use the same setup on my baitcasters also (50# power pro and 16# Toray fluorocarbon) .... :)

fishing user avatarbreezy reply :

x whatever for InvizX.

Low memory compared to some other FCs, casts very well and very few line management issues from my experience.

fishing user avatarSJex reply :

Sunline Sniper or InvizX.

fishing user avatarNibbles reply :

Gotta give another vote to Sunline FC Sniper. Sunline Super Natural Mono is actually pretty decent too, and from my experience the fish don't seem to mind it much. Give it a try - you may be surprised.

fishing user avatarkrisjack69 reply :

I just bought some 8 pound Seaguar InvizX line for dropshotting senko and finesse baits. Now how do I put it on my spinning outfit.Should I use mono backing or just use it as mainline or what.I am going to put it on my Shimano Sedona 2500FB reel.I probably gonna upgrade my shakespeare reel at some point.Thinking about getting the Pflueger President XT at walmart for 80 bucks.

fishing user avatarHooligan reply :

You can back it if you choose.  I generally back mine with about 60 yards of mono on my CI4.
