I've been looking into experimenting with some different brands/types of line I use for certain techniques, and I'm looking for some suggestions for my braided line rigs. Here are my two setups.
Frogging and some Flipping TXT731HFB with a Daiwa TACT100HS. Currently using 50# PowerPro Spectra.
Jigs and T-rigs over 3/8oz
TXT731MHFB with a TATULA100HS. Currently using 30# Spectra.
Thanks in advance.
I have my frogging/flipping rod strung up with #50 lb Power Pro super slick. Haven't used anythjng else but haven't had a reason to change. When I need to restring I would buy it again. My gear is a Dobyns champion 735 XP with one of the new tatula SV casting reels.
regular power pro or suffix 832 is really all i use and have no issues with either.

Thought about giving the super slick a try just to see if it casted any better than the spectra
All I have ever used is Power Pro, see no need to change.
832, Gamma, smackdown
I use 50# Bushido Combat braid on my frog and jig rods with mono backing. I just ordered two 150 yrd spools and its very expensive, next time might try 832 but I have a lot of confidence in the Bushido.
Suffix 832. Or power pro which ever on sale. Although suffix 832 seems smother.
original power pro. gt a spool of daiwa j braid x4 for free when i bought a daiwa fuego ct. going to give that line a go when i need to respool. cheaper than power pro too
Tried several different brands. All I use now is Power Pro original.
FINS PRT 50 or WindTamer 30, colors do not fade and very quite going through rod giudes.

Just finished the same experiment
TUF-Line XP ?
I used 65lbs PowerPro Super 8 Slick in timber brown for my frogging up until a month ago. I found it did well but I also lost some fish in very heavy cover.
I recently started using 65lbs Seaguar Smackdown and haven't lost any fish in heavy cover, so I'll be making the change over to Smackdown on all my setups that involve braid.
FWIW, I don't fish jigs and t-rigs on braid; I use fluorocarbon, specifically Seaguar Flippin' fluoro.
Used power pro, power pro super slick, 832, spider wire and kastking. All have worked fine for me, I find power pro fades and the ink gets everywhere after it gets wet. I just stick with kastking now, bought a total of 2600 yards of it and it only set me back 35 bucks canadian. 3 spools of gray 30lb 300 yards, yellow and red spools of 20lb 300 yards and then a 1100 yard spool of 30lb moss green. Was able to pull in a 10lb pike using the 30lb so I call it a win.
OP I think your current line choices are spot on. I use the same on similar setups. I've tried various braids over the years, and to be honest most all have performed well for me. I just stick with power pro now because its readily available and you can find good deals on it from time to time

Fellow Canuck here where did you get a deal like that? Looked on Amazon and a 550 yd spool of kastking was $30. Which is still a decent deal but 2600 yds is a lot better.
I started with Stren Spiderwire. It was garbage. Then switched to Power Pro and it’s an okay superline. I’ve never had any problems with it, but it’s not the smoothest and far from the best. PowerPro is good after you’ve used it for a while and the coating wears off when it becomes soft.
I also tried Power Pro slick 8 and never liked it. Original was better.
Daiwa Samurai, while expensive, was probably the best braid I’ve tried. Super thin, soft and supple, and quiet.
These days, all I use is Daiwa J Braid. There’s almost no difference between J Braid and Samurai. It’s the best bang for the buck and way higher quality than almost any other braided lines on the market.
I’ve heard of good things about Suffix 832 but have no experience with it. Don’t see a need to change from J Braid or see any reason to try an overpriced high end braid.

Hahaha leafs fan all the way bud you can get it on eBay, just go on ebay.CA and look up kastking. If you buy the one that ships from China it takes a couple weeks longer to ship but its usually 4 or so dollars cheaper, all dimming from the same place apparently. I talked to someone from kastking about a year ago during my first purchase from them and asked what the difference is from buying it from the American source or Chinese source from their same eBay shop, lady said its just to do with stock at their warehouse. You'll understand more of what I mean when you go check it out. Shoot me a message if you need any more info or help! The picture below is of the last order that I purchased from them. Those were only the 300 yard spools, excluding the 1000 yard spool I purchased earlier that month.

If I need it now Ill pay the four dollars extra. If not, I could wait. Thanks for sharing Makes sense too. If they dont have stock they have to order it or ship it direct from factory. What I understand is that they do this anyways - skip the middleman- and pass the savings to the customer.
I use Berkley braid on my spinning rods. I believe it was called fire line. Fades, but otherwise fine. Use plain Power Pro on my BC and have had no issues. I tried Suffix and went back to Power Pro.

I like that they skip the middle man but I also understand why big companies don't. You have to support businesses somehow right. In my opinion, kastking is doing it right by selling their products themselves, but the only downfall is that they won't get as much recognition because they are very limited to end users who are not aware of them and may not use online services to purchase items/gear.
I just received a spool of 50 lb yellow braid from kastking. Hopefully it's as good as I have read. Really hoping the colour last longer than my current braid has. Unfortunately bass season has two days left and doesn't open again until the end of June

Good points. However, think about the change in the digital landscape. I personally cut cable because everything is online and streaming now including most of my shopping. Even the wife order groceries online! They are doing something right that's for sure but I agree, having something in your hand first before you buy is def a plus. I think they rely on social media heavily to combat this problem.

WOW that is a LONG time to wait. Where do you fish? I fish in Texas and the bass season is all year...better in certain months though.

Ontario, Canada Zone 16. Must be nice to have a year round season.
That being said we get some cold weather up here. I fish for other species from about late March - June.
Zone 17 over here!
I only use power pro super slick. Want to try sunline
