Hey fellas I'm looking for some braid for my wife's spinning reel. I'm hoping to find some pink or another color that women would enjoy. If not I'll use power pro hi viz yellow that I already have. Any suggestions or thought on spiderwire stealth pink camo? I personally don't like spiderwire on my spinning reels due to the waxy feeling it has, but haven't tried it in 10 or 15 lb test. Also having trouble finding kastking pink braid.
A number of guys on here like pink braid for its visibility. I will say, though, that if I spooled pink line onto my wife's reel, I'd catch hell for weeks....would be something about me not taking her fishing seriously enough...treating her different...etc....so I'd be spooling it on mine before I gave it to her
Kastking makes a nice pink braid. Used it all last year, works great.

Yeah if it works out I wouldn't be opposed to putting it on my reel. I just think my wife would enjoy a nice pink line on there. I think it looks good, I like bright colored braid

That's what I've heard and what I'm looking for but having trouble finding it. There are out of stock on their site. Where did you buy yours from?
Just press a pink highlighter down on some faded line while you are feeding it onto the spool. It may not last but I'll wager it'll work for a while.

Haha never would have thought of that. I wouldn't doubt that it would work, only problem I don't have any faded braid lol

There's the rub (pun intended).

Mine came direct from KastKing to review for you all. I wonder if they've stopped making it because they've started a new line of braid that is made in the USA. I've only been able to handle it in my hands, not on a set up, but first impressions are really good. It also comes in a baby blue color.
I use Pink Kastking Braid and Pink Gliss line. I like gliss on my spinning reels and Kastking on my casting reels. I've also used Dorisea JDM braided line in pink and it was just like KastKing.

Is the USA made called something other than superpower?

The dorisea is interesting, very cheap too!
I have a spool of pink Gliss that will be going on my tube rod.

I was looking at that and it said it's between braid and mono, how do you like it? Do you use a leader

I have Gliss on all my spinning reels at the moment. It is used like a braid line. It is just thinner than braid. My only gripe with it is that it is very smooth and knots can be a pain to tie. I do not use a leader if I am in stain or muddy water but I do in clear.
I bought some of the yellow to try on a Ned Rig rod I just bought. May try the pink next.

The serious salt wate anglers use pink Fins braid* for low visiblity line underwater with keen eye sight tuna. Have your wife read up on pink braid on the Fins site, it's a made in USA product.

* Windtamer pink is ideal for spinning reels.

This may sound like a silly question, but are saltwater lines made differently than freshwater lines.? She will be using it in freshwater.

Nope, just marketing. Check line diameters vs. breaking strength, though.

Are saltwater lines usually thicker per lb test?

No, Fins Windtamer 10 lb is .007, 12 lb is .008 dia.

It just varies by brand. Each should have specs listed on the box or their website.
I use red power pro that is commonly available on several rods. Its almost pink, and it looks good to me.

Yeah that's an idea. How's the visibility on the top of the water?

I'd be lying to say I've really thought about it much, but it must be decent because I gravitate to the reels I have spooled with the red line.
I'm using 10 to 20 lb on spinning reels to fish small plastics and the occasional small crank or minnowbait.

I appreciate the honesty. I do think that it looks good, but I've heard that it bleeds onto peoples reels and stains cork handles. Any bleeding for you?
I received a used reel with red braid (I assumed PP, but...?). I don't remember being wowed by its visibility.
Just want to point out the Fins braid doesn't color run or fade like all the other brand of braids tend to do. The fact it's made in Kentucky is a plus to me.

It's a plus to me, too. The new KastKing braid is made in the USA now as well. Kudos to both companies!

While I certainly can't speak for the entire sisterhood ( nor would I try to) "pink" anything related to outdoor fishing/hunting would not be welcome anywhere within a hundred miles of me. And even that might be too close.
Just my two cents.

Not that I have noticed; I have been using it on 2 reels for the past 2 years, including one on a Fenwick Eagle with cork handle. Frankly, I bought it because it was in the clearance aisle and was in the size range I like for spinning. I looked at the one in my trunk after this post and saw that it has a light red color.
I didn't think about where it was made, and maybe I should have. Good idea to heed the advice of the experienced guys that commented above. That said, the red Power Pro has worked just fine for my purposes.
Pink rods, pink reels are both made for the female angler market or who ever else likes pink. Pink lures like bubble gum and morning dawn are made to catch bass without consideration of who may be using them. Pink line has been around a long time like Ande pink mono dates back over 30 years and popular with salt water anglers.
Don't turn up your nose at the color pink, you are missing a good bass catching color.
Tom
No hating on pink!
