fishing user avatar-HAWK- reply :

4-5 POUNDS.. Nice fatty

fishing user avatarjvox reply :

I assure you this fish is over 5 lbs. The picture doesnt do it much justice because I was by myself with a cell phone haha.

fishing user avatarbasspimple reply :

3 oz. seriously though, you cant tell how big a fish is in pics like that. ive seen 3 #ers that look like there six. nice fish though. :)

fishing user avatar.dsaavedra. reply :

that thing is short (judging by the water bottle) but VERY fat! its gotta humpback lol.

just judging by how fat it was i'd have to say it was 4.5-5.5lbs.

really nice fish you got there! is that a pb?

fishing user avatartyrius. reply :

Next time measure length and girth and you can get a decent approximation based upon the calculator on this site.

Without even the length guessing the weight is impossible.

5 LBS.

If you had a scale you would have solid proof of "over 5 lbs."

Well you do realize, we were not there. So we are judging your fish from the "cell phone picture". You asked for us to guess what the fish weighed based upon the picture. Next time eliminate the guessing game and always have the scale on you when you are fishing.

Well now, you ask for opinions...

My observation is that it takes " 'bout 8 " unweighed to get to 5

weighed. I've looked at the pictures several times this morning

and decided not to guess because I'm pretty sure you wouldn't

like it, but since the "issue" is being pressed, 3 maybe 3 1/2 lbs.

fishing user avatarCFFF 1.5 reply :

I'm kind of bored at work so here you go.

fishing user avatarsenile1 reply :

Whatever the weight, it sure is a fatty.  Nice fish!!!

fishing user avatarJ Francho reply :

Please get a scale, and don't just lay the fish on the ground.  ::)

fishing user avatar32251 reply :

Not good for the fish to be laying on the ground like that.

fishing user avatarBig-O reply :

Looks 21" to me and I say 5.5 cause she's kinda thick too..Good job jvox.

Big O

fishing user avatarBassFishingMachine reply :

I say in the 5lb range.

fishing user avatarBass XL reply :

Either way, its a good fish.

I hate threads like this because someone will ask, "How much does this weigh," and when the replies come in, they're wrong. Just my opinion.

fishing user avatarfishinfiend reply :

Nice fish. It looks like it is about 6lbs or less.

fishing user avatarjvox reply :

Thanks guys. The fish was only laying on the ground for a few seconds.  Placed it down, snapped a pic, then back in the water.  ;)

fishing user avatarSam reply :

Length X Length X Grith = Pounds

           1200

21,25 X 21.25 X 16 = 6.02 Pounds

           1200

If you can get a better estimate of her grith you can redo the formula and obatin a better estimate.

Beautiful fish.  Now go back and catch her again!  ;)

fishing user avatarmattm reply :

Its impossible to tell weight by pictures, especially these kind of pictures.  Having said that I guess 6lbs.

Btw, time spent on the ground has very little to do with why people are saying not to do it.  Any amount of time on the ground is going to remove slime which helps protect the fish against disease.

Nice fish!

A few seconds too many.  You might not realize it, but you are doing the fish harm.  If you're going to practice catch and release, then do it right.

fishing user avatarjvox reply :

Ok. No more grounding fish..^^ Take it easy there tiger.

Also one probably shouldn't jam their jaws back like in your avatar.   ;)

If you're going to hold them horizontally you should have one hand on their bellies for support.

Definitely not over 5.5 and a very nice looking bass.  Good genetics there.

fishing user avatarjoshuaryan reply :

I'd say 4 to be on the safe size...

I have about 3 different scales...but for some reason everytime I end up catching a PB I never have one on me ><

My avatar pic is my pb and of course didn't bring my scale, I say 5lber but I think it's more
