I’ve wasted countless hours on this reel, hoping it would work..I got one decent cast out of it and that’s it. I’ve re-spooled with different types/ test line and same thing. I’m past the return window so I guess I now just have a paper weight.

So I've tested two of these cheaper baitcasting reels and this one loses the battle. And I've also had several other items from this specific brand and always been happy with them. This reel those is kinda hot garbage. Feels plasticy and cheap.
Also, I can't get the side off, to pull the spindle out. There's the little toggle switch on the side, like all reels basically, that you move, twist the side and take out the spindle. Ya, no....that toggle will NOT move, at all. I've really put some force on it and tried everything....I'm going to have to break it to get it off, which I opted not to do.
I actually was able to tie on line without removing it, so I did get it wound up. I had it once while putting line on and a couple times during backlash situations, but the line gets caught between the spindle and the body and gets all jammed up. Like I said, it's just not a good reel and if you're new to baitcasters, you may never use another if you start on this one.....it's frustrating. Too bad too, because I do like this brand....that I can't even try to pronounce.

Aside from their high quality, low cost motto they made some excellent upgrades with this reel. The first big improvement is the aluminum thumb bar. May seem petty to some but that's one of the parts of the reel that you touch the most, therefore, it needs to last. I've broken way too many plastic thumb bars in my life time. Secondly, the crank handle being longer than standard is HUGE. You wouldn't think that a longer handle would make a difference, but it really allows you to crank and winch fish out of deep cover and slop, especially since this reel is a 7.1 ratio with 18lbs of drag. Smooth is the name of the game with this bad boy, you would never know that you're dealing with a 6bb reel, I promise you that. This reel absolutely gets it done! I was sold on the first one

Spooled it with 40lb .28mm braid and .28mm flourished leader. Tried it out on the pond outback and it backlashes on me so bad I had to cut and redo my line. After proper adjustment I was casting this thing like crazy! I’m new to baitcasters so I’m no pro but after just that one birds nest it performed quite well. It casts pretty far but I wasn’t getting to far out with my magnetic brake set at 8. Overall it’s a great reel for the price!
