Product reviews of M MAXIMUMCATCH Maxcatch Tino Fly Fishing Reel (3/4wt 5/6wt 7/8wt) and Pre-Loaded Fly Reel with Line Combo
Amazon Customer : Good value reel for the average fly fisherman.
Although I have not used this product yet I have taken the time to examine it closely for the features that are most valuable to me. The reel meets all my expectations based on structure, features, and ease of use (for example balance on rod, switching line reeling configuration). Based on these results, I fully expect it to perform as expected. Good value reel for the money.
K.G. : Four Stars
Appears to be a very nice reel. Packaged well
Nieandermeiers : You won't regret this purchase!
This reel is built very well. It has a great finish and looks beautiful matched up to a black 5WT SA rod I have.. The drag and retrieve are both silky smooth. It holds plenty of backing and the 100ft wf5f floating line perfectly. I will be buying another one of these to put on a rod for my dad. I fish a lot of places that are pretty timber covered and rough, I cant see paying hundreds for a fresh water reel because it is a name brand statue symbol, just to get gravel rash and bumped around. This thing performs flawlessly and for a fraction of the price..
joehenry68 : Capability
I use it for Euro nymph fishing & it is a great reel for the money.

richard brown : Great fly reel!
Maxcatch products are always top notch. The quality of this reel is comparable to reels i have costing 4 x as much. I am an avid fan of Maxcatch products.
A. Reith : Light for a cast aluminum reel.
I got this for < $20 used and intended to cannibalize parts from it for more expensive reels - i.e., spring clicker and possibly washers. When I received it, I was impressed by the potential price/performance ratio and so decided to steal one clicker and give the reel to a friend who can't afford fishing equipment.
Pros: Lightweight, mid-arbor (plenty of backing), good machining with tight fitting spool, smooth feeling drag, looks good.
Cons: Some cosmetic casting imperfections, uncentered reel foot (line can stack up on one side of the reel during retrieve), relatively large gap where frame meets spool - line can escape guide, exposed rotation plate could allow grit to enter drag mechanism.
Shotty B : Great construction.
Reel feels sturdy and the drag works smooth. Took the reel apart to switch the line to a right hand retrieve with zero compilations. One thing to note is the leader is attached to the fly line via nail knot. I will change leader size down the road, so I simply cut the nail knot and tied a perfection loop. In the future I will attach leaders using the loop to loop connection with my perfection loop.
Robert Fettig : Good
They work great
Fred Larson : Fly reel
Nicely made reel. Smooth action and problem free.
richard brown : Great fly reel!

Ally : Boyfriend approved
Boyfriend loves it
Terry C. : Great Reel at a Great Price
I've had a lot of reel in my 45 yeras of fly fishing including Orvis, Hardy, Ross and while they are great reels machined to perfection, this Maxcatch is a very nice reel for the money. It looks great and the quality is right up there with the big guys. For trout fishing this 3/4 reel I expect to serve me well. Buy one...
david huffer : Value
Seems like a nice real for the money. Haven't been able to take it our yet .cant wait
Randino : Surprisingly good!
Good finish for the money but more importantly, it works well. It's smooth, there is no play or side to side motion. The drag feature works better than you might expect for the price and the best feature is that it freewheels perfectly with the drag turned completely off. The line is nothing special but ok for the price. As a package, it's a great buy. I will probably buy another one in the 7/8 wt.
Kindle Customer : Quality real
New to fly fishing. The reel feels solid with a good finish. Used this on a trip this weekend. Started off using my Tino on my Sword rod and was very happy compared to the budget combo I had been using prior. Today I went with a guide who provided me a Loomis rod with an Orvis reel. It is hard to directly compare the two different weights of rod but I didn't notice any difference in accuracy in my casts between my $100 combo and the one costing hundreds more. Just saying.
Roger : Nice reel for the price
Seems to have a nice drag system and is pretty smooth, I will definitely be purchasing another one in a heavier weight.
Washington Rain Camper : Very good quality
Bought this reel on a whim to replace my old Pfleuger Medalist. So far, I'm very glad I did. The drag is easy to adjust, the arbor is just the right size to accommodate 100yds of backing and a full serving of WF5WT Rio line. So far, I am very please with the quality and use-ability of the reel. May need to buy another one.
