Does the 1000 version of this reel accept 4lb. and 6lb. test mono line?

Answer: Yes.

Can it be used in saltwater?

Answer: Yes, but you must rinse and lubricate it more often because of the salt.

What country is it really made in? china or usa?

Answer: Know what you're talking about before you answer, please. It's made in China. I have 2 Sphera 300s. It's right on the box. They are, howevber, GREAT reels, especially for the price. BTW, I could be wrong but I'm unaware of any reels made in the US. Lots of rods, but know of no reels.

Answer: A micro screw driver set, can be purchased from Home Depot or Lowe’s.

Answer: Yes

Is the 3000 tough enough for catfish?

Answer: Depending on what kind of catfish your trying to catch. Channel catfish yellow belly are small so 3000 is the okay. Anything bigger like blue head river catfish no.

Is this good for salt water ?

Answer: I really don't know. It doesn't say anything in the ad on Amazon, and I only use this for river fishing. You might want to get in touch with Tempo and ask.

Answer: The handle on the left side is for right hand casting and reel with the left hand. The handle can be placed on right or left sides.

Answer: Its for both left and right handed. You change the handle to the right.

Difference between styles ? 1000 , 2000

Answer: I bought the 1000 and it was great. Haven't tried the 2000 but it just comes down to size.

Answer: Yes, you have to adjust with provided washers.

What is the purpose of the rubber band on the spool?

Answer: None, you remove it before putting line on.

Where are Tempo reels made/manufactured?

Answer: This reel is made in China. I caught a 30 inch pike on it last week. Around an 8-9# fish and the drag worked like a charm! So far so good, I like it!

Answer: I don't have it near me right now, but I believe it's either Japan or China. I do know that it is not made in the U.S.A.

Good for Saltwater?

Answer: I do not know about saltwater. I use it for freshwater and it is great.

Answer: You can if you like but 2# is better for the smaller reels - 1000 size. 3000 would be at the min - 6#

Answer: I don't know the measurements in inches. It's a 2000 yard spool size Im using it on my 6 foot ultra light pole it's a perfect size and balance.

What is the max weight of line can this reel hold

Answer: 20 Pound braided. I use it with 10# Trilene XT the geeen line. Have caught some 4-5# Bass and a 8# Northern Pike on it. It’s a good reel with a solid drag!

Answer: I'm not usre about Max weight. This "Ultralight" reel is larger than most so I assume it can hold any line. I use 4 - 6 Lb test and I find the reel is too big. That said, it is a quality reel.

Can you use monofilament line on this reel?

Answer: Of course, you can use monofilament but if you're looking for casting distance use braid.

Love this thing. Smooth action, long casting, and rapid retrieve if you need it. Manufacturer includes extra washers so that, in the event line doesn't fill the spool evenly, washer can be added, or removed to adjust the fill. Definitely would buy this one again.

Good reel using it on my ultra light rod to catch bluegill and crappies and others small fry fish. The reel is smooth and have a good build quality to it made in the USA and best of all affordable. Thanks to the new crack called Amazon prime I got my reel shipped to me in two days.

I haven't been fishing with it yet, but I've been practicing casting with it in my back yard and have had hundreds of casts with it haven't had any problems. Might look at the 4000 series.

This reel seemed very nice for the price initially. After some use though, I'm highly disappointed. There is a lot of friction in the gearing and when the reel is under the slightest load, it becomes harder and harder to reel. I cleaned the internals and re oiled, but it had little effect. This reel is going in the dumpster.

This review is for the 4000 size. I just got back from a trip to the shore. I was using this reel to fish on the sound side for 2 days. I wasn't impressed. It is definitely not smooth reeling as it's rubbing against it's plastic. Listen to the attached video. It functions, but it's pretty annoying feeling that plastic on plastic drag. I could feel the reel twist and torque just reeling in 2-3lb fish. It is light weight, and looks nice, but the fish don't care about that. Luckily I got this reel on sale, but I'd rather have something better quality. On a lightning sale deal I still don't think I got my money's worth, so I sure would never pay full price for it.

8/25 Update: The seller, without request from me, upon seeing I had seen a defective reel sent me a replacement. So big plus for the excellent customer service standing behind their product. I was able to take it to the river today and the new one is performing much better than the first. I didn't catch anything (not the reel's fault) so it wasn't a full test, but I did not feel the same flex as the first one received and it is working smoothly as expected. Definitely a better experience than my initial 2 star review.

As an avid fisherman it's clear that good equipment yields more fish. Better feel , better retrieve , better sensitivity. It was time to add to my collection of reels to avoid time saving lure changeovers. I have everything from top of the line to simple basic. I chose this reel and made absolutely the right call ..precision ball bearings yield perfectly smooth retrieve and cast. This is one of the tightest smoothest reels in my arsenal. The bail is tight , there is absolutely zero backwards reel , no slop ..clean design , this reel is going straight to the top of my list for dependable clean smooth casts. Couldnt be more impressed with it and at this pricepoint it's the bargain of the year for me
