How well would 25-30lb test fit on this reel?

Answer: Thanks for your question. The MN100 is perfectly match with light rod such as pen rod, the XF150’s reel foot is a bit longer about 2.17 inch, so you’d better have a check before making order.

Answer: Due to the all metal shaped body, it is not really a light weight reel for its size. But it’s tiny and durable.

What is the line weight limit

Answer: Right now I’m using 5lb frost mono and haven’t had any trouble

Can someone tell me the weight? I'm backpacking and every ounce counts.

Answer: Do not know the exact weight in ounces but it is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and is the perfect size for a small 2.5ft pen rod. I bought mine for backpacking and have zero regrets.

Answer: The reel you will receive is exactly what it shows in picture. The dimension of XF150 is about 3.15x2.36x2.99 inches, maybe a little difference due to manual measurement error. And you also can refer to the pictures on product page which shows the reel’s held on hand. If you looking for a reel can be fitted on a pen rod, MN100 would be a better choice because the reel foot is smaller.

Is this reel made for saltwater or freshwater only?

Answer: Sea fishing is not recommended unless you can rinse it with freshwater and keep it dry after use. A good maintaining would extend its useful life.

Answer: It won't hurt as long as you rinse it by fresh water after you use it. Wouldn't use it for big fish but for the smaller salt water fish would work well.

Answer: 6/160, 8/130, 10/100, at 16.5 drag i would never buy the 1000. or 2000. for trout or small game fish, the 3000 would be the ticket, you have triple the line cap. and the same drag for a few extra dollars to boot. i prefer the 4000 model , trout , bass, walleye, pike and muskie,. i was just in washington state and caught a 14 # pike , and 28# muskie with the 4000 model. pike, 15# braid line, and same for the musky as well.

When I first received the reel, it felt extremely notchy. You could feel the gears turning inside. I took off the cover and put some quality oil and grease inside, and that smoothed it out a bunch. When I finally put string on it, most of the string was spooled at the bottom. Upon further inspection, I seen that the spool does not have enough travel to put the like evenly across the spool. Oh well, at least I don't use this setup much.

It is a super mini reel. I was hoping for something a litter bigger. The reel had a hang up built into the spool. Kept getting tangled because one of the latches had a hang up. Don't waste your money.

I bought 2 of these in the 2000 size. For the money I think they are an okay deal but I have issues with both of the reels i got. I believe their quality is questionable to say at best. 1 of the reel handle was riveted on at an angle and locks up while trying to reel. Very frustrating to use. The other one gets locked up for a split moment when the spinning reel hits if highest portion of the reels rotation. I have a feeling that this is not the case with each reel. It just seems like their is very little to no quality control. Other then the ossirs I have experienced I do believe if you dont have these factory defects like I have had then I could see why they have such high rating. They seem of tough material and can last long. But it's a roll of the dice. Also remember to greese the reel before taking it out. I'm glad I looked before using them but it does not seem like they m put any greese or oil at all in them.
