Touting the P2 Super Pinion, the Tournament MP has precise alignment and stability in the pinion gear through a bearing support system, resulting in smoother operation and extended gear life. Match that up with a premium 10-bearing system and externally adjustable Multi-Setting Brake (MSB) dual cast control system, and you have one smooth reel. A bowed, lightweight 95mm aluminum handle with Lew’s Combat Grip paddle knobs, Combat Grip thumb bar, and 20lbs of drag power, it won’t shy away from heavy cover and big fish.

is it suitable for saltwater - inshore fishing?

Answer: Not sure since I have not used it in salt water. It has a good drag system on it, but line capacity is limited if you are fishing for larger fish that might pull a lot of line. I have a Lew’s super duty that I Muskie fish with that can handle bigger fish, but still not sure about the salt water effect.

Answer: I suppose if you rinse it thoroughly after use.

Answer: That all has to do with u pole pick and length and stiffness , not the reel. All poles are set to throw certain weight lures depending on what u want to fish for. Reel wise , lure weight is up to u and what line and retrieve speed u want, otherwise, what ever u think that reel can handle really. I mean u would not go out and use a giant penn ocean reel to throw a 1/2 ounce lure, even though u could if u wanted too. . really up to the fisherman about what he or she thinks the reel can handle really.

How much line will it hold ?

Answer: 120yrds of 12-15lb mono or 120yrds of 30-50lbs braid.

What comes in the box? I just got mine and just the reel came with nothing else, no bag, no paterwork...Nothin.

Answer: Same here, apparently that's it, that's all u get and a parts breakdown. No oil or bags or anything else ,just the reel. it is a great reel though.

Answer: It is designed for fresh water fishing. Specifically bass. I’m not sure what you are calling deep. Deep fishing for me is 20’ to 30’.

I was looking for my first real quality baitcaster reel since I purchased my first one some 6 yrs ago. Feel in love with the feel so I decided to step up my game and find a quality reel for this upcoming 2021 season. Researched on Google and, of course, you have your typical name brands but came across the Lews brand and it kept coming up in the "best bait cast reel in the $150 range" of bait cast reels. The deeper I dove into the reviews it became clear it was a "no brainer" to give it a try. Purchased the Lew's Tournament MP TS1XHMP Baitcaster Lancer Lourd. My first day was awesome. Getting used to the distance. A few birds nests as I adjust but nothing I can't handle. I goes a mile! Awesome reel! Awesome feel!

Sturdy, good material, well made compact reel. The quality is there when you feel it. Love the action of the reel (fast, strong) and the clickers on the adjustment nobs are great! Would have liked to had a reel bag with logo enclosed or sticker (just to show my buddy's). Will be purchasing another quality LEW'S though.

Very well made reel, and you can feel it the second you use it. It Casts perfectly and once you get it dialed in you wont have to deal with any backlash. Spool it up, set the drag and casting adjustments and start fishing, its just that simple with this reel, and great for beginners too.

With all the choices and all the names LEWS is my go to when it comes to baitcasting goodness. They are smooth, they are tough, and they are hotter looking than most hot Blondes (after the makeup comes off). This Tournament mp lfs is no exception. I own 2(of this model)and will say that for the money you will not find a better reel. It performs as good if not better than reels twice and three times the $$$. The drag is tough..the cast settings are easy to adjust and like other Lews reels its small and fits into the palm of your hand like a dream. I fish alot..like alot alot. My gear that literally connects me to the fish has to perform flawlessly and Lews does that better than any other reel I've used.

Really nice reel for the money. Very smooth and once you have the cast control adjusted to your liking makes smooth, long casts. Plenty of guts to handle a bass. I coupled it with a 6'8" medium action Falcon rod and have been using it for crankbaits and jerk baits. Completely satisfied.
