I think it's over. 2024

fishing user avatarflippin4it. reply :

The post-spawn funk is over. I went out this morning to see whats happening at the local pond. I crushed them on my lucky popper. Landed 11 and lost a "BIG" one due to some hardcore daydreaming. The funny thing was that it hit the popper really lightly, kinda like a bluegill pecking at it. 2 biggest at 4 pounds and 5 other keepers and the rest of them dinks. 3 more came on a watermelon/pepper Senko..........  Memorial day should be killer. We are having "FISH-A-PALOOZA". It is a Kayak, Canoe and Jon boat event. Who's game???? Pm for details!

fishing user avatarokrod reply :

Awesome!   Sounds like a hell of a morning.  I'll PM you about next weekend.

fishing user avatarslomoe reply :

Sounds like a good day. Let me know If you guys got any open seats next weekend.

fishing user avatarflippin4it. reply :

fishing user avatarflippin4it. reply :

LOL, now that I read it carefully ...............I'm trippin'! :o

But there are deals to be had.

fishing user avatarokrod reply :

Been looking, but I keep finding china I can afford.  Can you fish out of a  gravy boat?    :-/

fishing user avatarDan: reply :

dang! I wonder if he'll just sell me the trailer... I need to check that out because even just the trailer would really help me tow around the boat I already have...

Anyone know how to do the wiring?

fishing user avatarHung up Paul reply :

I have had a brand new utility trailer from Harbor Freight unassembled in a box in the garage for 2 years.  Maybe I'll open the box soon, then I'll be able to jump on one of those boat only deals.

If you can tie your shoes you can do the wiring on a trailer.  It's a one banana job.  PM me if you need some help.

Oh no! I use the vel-cro straps! :-[

fishing user avatarHung up Paul reply :

;D  Hahahaha!

I keep telling my wife that my daughter's next pair of shoes better have laces... she'll never learn to tie otherwise.

fishing user avatarflippin4it. reply :

Dan, you know I'm a mechanic........Get it, I'll fix it.

Who else is down for FISH-A-PALOOZA?? I'll put you on a PB, but no guarantee.... ;)

fishing user avatarDan: reply :

I have to figure out if my 10ft will fit on the trailer. I'd rather just keep it instead of having to fix the boat that comes with the trailer, but I do plan on inquiring further about this.

EDIT: F*#$! The listing was taken down!! Did someone from BR get it?

Btw, Rob. My dad just took our Taurus to the shop and it racked up $1800 in repairs. Something about a sway bar in the front, cracked springs in the rear suspension and something with belt tensions.

I'm definitely down for Fish-a-palooza. My dad wanted to go to the Nats game but I would much rather meet up and fish with a bunch of the NoVA guys. What time/location are you planning, Rob?

fishing user avatarflippin4it. reply :

I will know today if I have a open spot in my boat for FISH-A-PALOOZA..........Take the hint Trevor. ;)

fishing user avatarTrevor in Burke reply :

I'm in  8-)

one hundg%

fishing user avatarHung up Paul reply :

I got a line on a 14ft jon... maybe.  When is this fishapalooza?

fishing user avatarTrevor in Burke reply :

Monday morning, there is no boat ramp though so make sure you can carry your boat, and bring extra batteries, PM Rob for more details, I'm just responding because he doesn't get on here during the daytime, just Mornings and evenings.

fishing user avatarHung up Paul reply :

Who needs batteries when you have oars and arms?

fishing user avatarTrevor in Burke reply :

people who like to cast while moving forward with their footpedal 8-)

good luck fishing if it's a windy, BRING THE ANCHOR!

fishing user avatarA.Do? reply :

I've found that drifting isn't bad.  I go against the current pass the cove i want to hit and then drift my way down, controlling my drift with my rudder! Almost as good as trolling.  :P

Yours truly,

"Feel the Burn"

fishing user avatarDan: reply :

I might end up out there with my 10ft jon boat, paddling with my oars like a fool. I really, really hope it isn't windy...d**n I need a trolling motor...

fishing user avatarDan: reply :

Awesome, thanks, I appreciate you looking into that.

I need to get my boat registered and everything, though.

fishing user avatarflippin4it. reply :

FISH-A-PALOOZA has gotten big, this is going to be incredible. Be there guys. Guys from 2 forums will be rocking it out.......

fishing user avatarflippin4it. reply :

Even if your not in a boat, there is a lot of shore line.

fishing user avatarPaul Naj reply :

Guys,

I'm going to be up in NJ with my family this weekend and may not get back until Monday night. If I don't show have a great time and catch 'em up.

I was out there yesterday morning for a few hours and it was tough. I only got two fish between 1.5 and 2 #. The pattern I've had dialed in there for a few weeks was non-existent yesterday.
