Anyone up for it =D?
edit for more details:
Heading down saturday night 11ish, and fishing til morning.
The place is VERY lit, so it's not like fishing in total darkness.
Bring swimbaits
update: sorry I got my dates wrong! it'll be saturday night to sunday morning!

Where? I might come down and check on you guys.
Let us know how you do!
I'm going to place my order for my rod on friday.
Yorktown!
Where in Yorktown?
Simon,
I put some feelers out to see if I can convince Andy and Jay to drive down there with me. I really prefer to make a long trip like this with a family member or friend. Hopefully one of them will want to go.
Ron
Simon,
Jay can't make it. I am waiting to hear back from Andy and Ron (vaparrothead). I still may make the drive myself even if I can't convince them to come. Are you fishing the same place you did last time? Do you have a street name or address so I can get directions via googlemaps?
Ron
!!!! Very tempted. I'm workin during the day so we'll see how tired i am. But umm, i don't get it. where are you fishing? haha
@ron
I'll be fishing the same place as before, here the address
332 Water St Bldg L, Yorktown, VA
That's the address to the Ben and Jerry's there
but googlemaps seems to put it right at the point where we fish, so ever better!
@Andrew
Come down! I'm not sure when Striper season ends but you gotta get some in before it does =D break the dry spell too! Maybe you'll catch a biggggg one =D
sorry guys! date change, got my dates mixed up =/
now saturday night to sunday morning! hope you all can still go!
man, i really wish i could...

You're kidding, right? :-?
Striper season has been over since December 31. Any fish you catch now must be immediately returned to the water. Striper season doesn't open up again until spring.
It's OK to fish for stripers, but you can't keep any.

I meant more of a "til you can't catch them any more cause they've moved" kinda thing rather than to actually keep them.
You can catch schoolie sized stripers year round there in the York.
Ahh, I haven't had any luck in the summer times at yorktown for striper, I do catch alot of croaker and some flounder though. How do you shore fish for striper at yorktown in the summer times?
I guess the same way. I've always caught them by boat around the ends of the piers at night.
hrmm, no go for this date change. going snowboarding so don't think i'd have the energy to do both.
I can only do a Friday night Saturday Morning thing. I am going smallie fishing on the Rap Sunday morning.
:'(
Good luck, let me know how you make out and I will definately try to make the next trip.

Thanks bud, will do!
Heya guys, Had a blast last night...it was coooold but it was still alot of fun.
They seemed to start biting at around 4-5am, which was the same as the last time I went so that's good to know...
and the biggun of the night...
join me next time =D
Looks like a lot of fun. What baits are you getting them on?
I use the calcutta swim baits that Green Top sells, in the Bunker and Golder Bunker size, 4 and 5 inch both work well
Nice fish. Are you catching them right along side the pier? I'm going to have to come out there with you real soon. Come spring, you'll be able to catch 40-50 lbers there.
Yep along side and on the pier....but....I'd only go on the pier late at night, the pier people don't like it when you fish on it during the day, but they told me it would be ok to fish it at night as long as I closed the gate behind me.
Wow...40 - 50 lbsers....I can't wait!
Nice job again. I really need to come down there and fish since I keep getting skunked up here.
Night is the best time anyway. My dad and I used to pull all-nighters on the piers at the Naval Weapons Station just up the road (when they used to let fishermen out there). It seems night time always produced better than daytime.
Yep yep, it'll be fun having some BR members to fish with! I understand it's a long drive though =) but worth it!
Looks like it was worth it buddy. Great catches. We will try and join you sometime. It's possible my dad and I may get down there Friday night, mayber even my wife too. Don't worry she knows how to fish and loves fishing for catfish and striper. I may just buy her some swimbaits to bring down so she has some too and let her go to town. She normally outfishes my dad and I lol.
Anyway I'll let you know deeper into the week like Wednesday or Thursday depending on how she feels about it and if she has anything for me to do Saturday that's top priority. If we go down I think we plan on headed out between 12-1 and being down there for 3 or 3:30. I'll hit your cell up one night this week.
