Wow, nobody thinking or talking about getting out on Sunday in NOVA?? What is up with that?? Anyone brave the breezes today with any luck?? Just trying to get a feeling on where to venture on Sunday.
I fished heron lake and a another pond off silverbrooke rd today hooked up to two, landed one, but one guy at heron was in a great spot and was pulling out lots of little bass and big crappie
If you're planning on going to burke or something and want company, I'm always down to fish those brush piles!
I am going to fish Burke tomorrow with my buddy Nelson. He wants to show me a spot where he lost a couple of good fish. I'm gonna try to get all who are interested in figuring out burke, on the lake before things get too cold. Thai, where is Heron Lake?? Not sure I've ever been there.
PM'ed
I have fished that pond a handful of times. Didn't know it had any crappie.
PM'd.
I had the option to go fish the birthday cake for striper tommorow totally free of charge but I think Im gonna take my boat out tommorow and head right over to mattawoman creek for a few hours. I dont feel like having to get up at 5 am to be down south by 6 30 to fish. Its gonna be low-mid 60's tommorow hopefully. See if I get lucky. If you're down to fish thai lemme know. Its a pretty stress free launch and load at leesylvania every time and mattawoman is only a mile from the ramp.
What time you planning on launching Steve
Hitting LB tomorrow morning with Slawson and Rob if your interested

Steve have fun and be safe out there man no more running on plane over stump fields! I think I'm going to stick to pond/lake fishing for now
I wish i could join you quan and Thai. I have family in town and cant get away. Keep me posted.
Don't you guys watch football?
that's my problem too. addicted to fantasy football!!!
QuoteDon't you guys watch football?
We had an unexpected (to me) fishing derby this morning. I didn't know so many guys would show. At least I'm home in time for some football. I think Dan and Thai left before me, so they may have been in time to, if football is their thing.
I was there ~ 5 hrs, and I don't know how much time was spent fishing, a good portion was spent BS-ing.
Nice to meet you Thai, though we didn't fish together.
My tally was 3 keepers: two on a lipless crank bounced off the rip rap and the last (and best) on a 1-oz football jig (credit to Rob, it was his tackle: I looked and I don't even own a 1-oz jig). Not bad for this time of year.
I know Rob had at least one, and Matt had two, but I didn't talk to him before he left so he may have caught some more.
Sundays are free for me. I couldn't care less about NFL. Saturdays during the NCAA season are a different story...
Burke was not on fire. Caught 10 small fish and probably missed twice as many. Couple of the bites felt to be better fish than what I was putting in the boat. Talked to a guy who caught a couple over 4 and lost 1 he thought might have gone 7!
Thai, probably would not have been worth it to get out there with me today, I will get you out there tho!!
well done quan.
how much tackle did you donate?
If I recall correctly, 2 jigs, 3 dropshot rigs and probably 6 shakey heads. Just enough to truly tick me off!

Was he in a folboat and did he insist on showing you pictures?
AHAHAHA Aaron, Dan you know what I'm talking about LOL ;D
Dude looked like he knew what he was doing. He also caught a nice walleye when he was fishing near us. He found a lot of stuff on his own from what I could see. Said it was his first time at Burke!

Did he have a fish/depth finder? That's d**n good for a first outing. When we were there there was a guy in a folboat following us around like a shark on a trail, he told us he caught some large ones and I guess he didint think we believed him so he circled us for maybe ten minutes insisting we look at his pictures lol!
We had to "graciously" decline ;D
Thai, as much as I hate to admit it I think that guy new the lake well. There is no way he can "guess" where those brush piles are...he was crazy as hell though...haha

Yeah as much as I'd hate to agree with you he did seem to know where the piles were but now so do we!
Sorta ;D
"Want to see? It's on my camera!" haha
Finding those brush piles is cake if you have the right electronics. So people can find it on a first outing if they cruise around the lake enough. It's not like its that big of a lake compared to somewhere like Anna. How many acres is it anyways ?
I believe the map said 218 acres. Some of the smaller brushpiles could be hard to find even with electronics, that's why I'm thankful for the treasure map that John gave us!
