I need to get out soon! I need bass. Curious if any other Pennsylvania people have have luck yet, it's still awfully cold
I wouldn't wait to get word that bass are being caught. If that was the case the PFBC has had reports in early February about smallies being caught on the rivers.
Go get your line wet!
I haven't been out at all yet but I am hoping to get out in the next week or so.
I was out both days last weekend on the Upper Allegheny, smallies, pike, muskies.......all were biting.
I'm not going to make it out for awhile yet.I had my left knee replaced in January.Doing real well walking etc.,still planning on being on the water by the end of May.
I won't get out until it's in the mid/high 50s for a few days in a row, maybe low 60s. Looks like that's at least 2 weeks away based on current 10-day forecast.
we got a foot of snow over night here in MA
I been known to cut a lil' rug....(sorry, Major Payne reference)
I've gone out a few times, water is cold. Real cold.

you know you could really scare them by making them watch Leonard Part 6
Caught this guy March 13th in NEPA. No reason not to be out there so long as you can dress properly to stay warm
Is that Minsi Lake there Sun Fish?
My friend and I were going to get out there soon since that is usually the first lake unfrozen.
I'm going to start working on the boat saturday and hopefully it'll see the water monday depending on weather. They're calling for 6-12" of snow tonight through friday so getting to the boat may be a bit harder then expected. Last time I checked today is the first day of spring right? Lake effect snow coming off Erie, hopefully the weather man is wrong like normal.
Went last weekend down here and the water was cold(36). I have a tourney Saturday! One nice thing is if you catch anything this time of year it is usually better size fish!

Yes it is, I live 10 minutes from it. I was out there for a short time today man was the windy nasty and the water crazy choppy.
If you go there a lot you have probably seen my friend and I out there. He has a white Triton Tr-186. We usually go spring and fall there. Summer is usually taken up with Wallenpaupack tournaments.
Minsi is an amazing little lake though, my friend caught one that was 7 lb 1 oz out of there two summers ago, and we found out later at a tournament that his scale was light by a little so it might have been 7 and a half or so.

I am there a lot. It's a tough lake but can be very rewarding at times I do think I've seen a white Triton out there before. I was in a brown hydra sport most of last season now I'm in a green Nitro.

Hopefully I will see ya out there at some point. I'm sure we will be there at least once in April and at least once in May.

Who hosts the tournaments on Wallenpaupack? I was looking online for info on tournaments there and couldn't find much.

This is the league we fish all the opens with: http://www.lackawannabass.com/
I'm sure other clubs have tournaments there too, but these guys have the most.
Our club is headed to the river tomorrow, just ready to play with all my new toys!
Headed to the lake in the morning for the first tourney! Should be interesting! Very cold!
How'd the tournaments go today guys?
I opted not to go after what I saw yesterday. We did horrible on the river and I assumed Raystown would be just as bad if not worse.
Hey Guys,
Im taking my first trip of the year to Raystown on Friday. Im kind of stuck on what to do since Raystown is usually a tough lake to fish. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try. I would really appreciate any advice so I don't get skunked on my first trip.
Thanks
Well, they got more snow and cold rain today.
Weather pattern looks to be a bit more sun this week, you'll probably find some water in the low 40's but I wouldnt expect much warmer temps than that.
Any water is gonna be tough as nails till it gets into mid 40s-50s
I kind of thought it was going to be tough, but any advice on what kind of structure to fish and what lures to try?
Jerkbaits as slow and deep as you can stand to fish them.
I'd look for rocks in the sun and your NW banks are going to have the most light on them for the longest period of the day.
I'm startin to notice pickerel lounging in the river, little on the plus side long as they don't steal my home made hair jigs
Fished Saturday water was 34 no bites please let spring get here!
Was supposed to have a tournament tomorrow, canceled. Saturday I am going to go out for a few hours and see if I can get my fish finders dialed in. New elite 4 at the helm and my hb got moved up front. Hope theres enough water to even really fish. Prob throw some jerkbaits and possibly a rig.
if I had open water....
wont be long though!
Still hitting the trout up, season opens here tomorrow so I'll sit back and watch the hoards
Hog Suckers are starting to appear in the rivers

I rarely fish for trout but I'm starting to take a liking to it while I'm struggleing to hook into another bass this season while the water is still cold. Caught a new trout PB today this guy was a CHUNK!
Hog Suckers = Sucker Spawn coming to a water near you. Easliy the best trout fishing of the year. Drop down stream right behind where you see the suckers in the riffles. Use a cream colored sucker spawn and you will have a banner day. The fish follow the suckers and just vacuum up the eggs
