I put my 3600 series case that was full of my whopper ploppers, Megabass stuff, square bills and other things on the side of my truck bed while I put stuff away and forgot it there. Now I’m driving around trying to find it to no avail. I doubt I made it very far before it fell off. I’m so mad right now. It has to be atleast$150 worth at stuff gone. Someone found a good score somewhere.

Sorry to hear that.. bait monkey will be happy
Dang that stinks.
The more I think about it the worse it gets. The past several weeks I’ve been moving all my productive baits into that case. Basically every thing that has worked lately at the few ponds I go to was in there. It was pretty jammed. I did that so I only have to carry that one thing with me. Talk about all your eggs In One basket. If I were to go right now I would have almost nothing to throw. Hopefully my MTB this month is a good one. I’m glad it’s almost the end of the season. I guess I know what I’ll be stocking back up on this winter.
Hey.....Black Friday is just around the corner
Sad day indeed, sorry to hear.
Something similar happened to be a couple months back. I was leaving a local lake with my kayak in my truck bed and I mistakenly just sat my tackle bag on top of the yak and drove away instead of putting it under the bungees. About 5 mins later while driving up the road a biker came riding up beside me and pointing at me to pull over. I do and he pops open his saddle bag and hands me my entire tackle bag that had fallen off of my truck. He said he saw it laying on the road and figured it obviously fell off of someones vehicle so he just turned around and started back this way looking for someone who looked like they might be a fisherman. The kayak hanging out of my truck bed was a dead giveaway lol.
Still some good folks left out there. About 75% of all the tackle I own was in that bag, I'm glad he cared enough to try to find who it bag belonged to...
Yeah, that’s a happy ending. I was hoping that was gonna happen to me when I went back to the parking lot no such luck. The kicker is dicks is having 20% off ends today and I can’t make it there oh well.
Sorry for your loss Derek. Were you at home / in your driveway? I did that and my neighbor recovered them, maybe worth checking with neighbors to see if someone found it and brought it to a nearby home. Happened to me a few months ago. I've caught myself placing items (yeti mug, phone, sun glasses) on the side of the bed since then, and every time, I remember what happened. Now stuff goes in the bed not on it.

I have lost several pocket knives that way .
No I was at the pond in the parking lot. I was at another pond next town over when I realized it I scoured the road inbetween. Was hoping someone that worked the building would see it and save it for me since they see me hear all the time. That could still happen on of these days, fingers crossed. On a good note the $1 hunch came in and caught me a fish tonight.
Exact thing happened to me with my wallet once! I got lucky and it fell inside the bed of the truck and stayed there the whole drive home.

Given somebody might have found a good score, I think I would feel (marginally) better about that than what I did last year, which was to have a 3600 with similar contents slide over the side of the kayak in 30 feet of water......of course, with some air inside, it sank slowly, so I'm watching it fade into the blue-green depths as it glides down in slow-motion, as I flail away uselessly in full panic with the only instrument I had, my paddle...
First-world problems to be sure, but still traumatizing.
At least it was lost, I've had all my gear stolen once and my boat stolen once, awful feeling.
I had a rough day as well. Caught what was for sure my PB and got zero pictures of it. Caught it from the bank. Phone was in my left pocket, was holding the fish with my left hand, tried to swap hands, and dropped the fish. It flopped it's way right back into the lake.
Total bummer.
Still better than the day I dumped my kayak and lost a Cara and Tatula Elite rod. Disgusting feeling.
Sorry to hear that.
I’ve done it too this season with my trout gear, but left my trout bag on the ground as I put everything else into the trunk. I even made a mental note to pick up the bag but I still forgot. Every bit of trout gear, about $125 worth of stuff gone. I was so ticked at myself.
The last time I did that, my bag had an airline tag on it with my name and number. This was maybe 10 years ago. An honorable guy was kind enough to call me. I was lucky. Probably the same amount as you.
I made it a point to to leave a label on my bags after that but that went to the way side.
Perhaps we should all do that for our bags and boxes. I am certain a six pack as a good faith gesture would be fitting.
I would have no problem handing someone a $20 if they came up to me and gave me back my box. They can buy there own six pack or whatever they like.
Not obsessive-compulsive (I don't think) but I've pulled over NUMEROUS times to check and make sure I've loaded all my gear. So far, I haven't had your experience. But I'm sad for you. : (
We’ll I had a $10 off coupon for dicks. I was able to grab a couple spinnerbaits in the right colors for right now along with a couple sk 1.5’s and a spool jr all for $20. It’s my Megabass stuff and wp’s that I’m sad about I think it was 6 of them all together that was lost. Everything else is cheap by comparison, it was just a bunch of it.

Had never heard of Megabass, but those are some good looking, expensive, baits. No way I can afford that on my frugal fishing budget, but I may slurge and get a Dark Sleeper.
Still hoping your stuff shows up. You might set up a craiglist alert and one for Facebook Marketplace if they have a similar option.
Yeah, I’m not gonna worry or drive myself crazy over it any more. I lost them they weren’t stolen. I just hope who ever finds them uses them or gives them to someone who does. I can picture some guy selling them out of the trunk of his car for $20, no lol.
If it makes you feel any better Derek I just went out on my little boat and.....
Tossed a line, got my expensive lure snagged, tried to back up to get it, turn around too quick in my swivel seat and accidentally kick other rod in the drink, try to go get my lure, hard snag, cut my line, tie on a new expensive lure, head back to park the boat, toss another line for the heck of it, get other lure snagged, back up boat to get it, line gets stuck in motor prop, cut that line, get extremely livid, back the boat up to the parking spot, step off the boat, slip, fall in the drink, get up, throw things and cuss up a storm, tie boat off, walk back to the house, clean up, get on bassrecource.
We all have bad days man....lol
Two weeks ago I lost a 3600 size case of my medium diving cranks, it was full of megabass, duo, and a few other hard to get Japan baits, it was around $300 worth of baits.
Blew off my boat and by the time I found it missing it was either picked up by another boat or shore fisherman.
It wouldn't have sank since all of those baits float....it still hurts inside
What can you do?

Bikers are good people,,,,,
Sorry to hear that, but stupid crap happens all the time. Once my wife was putting the kids in car seats and left her purse on the roof of the car. She drove away and her purse fell off the roof into the middle of the road. Luckily a police officer saw it fall off and picked it up. He called the house. We had it back shortly, a very lucky day for the whole family.
To be equal opportunity stupid! I left McDonald's and put the super size coke on the roof of the car, put everything else inside, got in, and drove away. The new car was covered in coke, and I thought a car full of kids threw it at my car, and for a minute I was on a mission to track them down. I quickly figured out it was my coke and my fault. Really felt like an idiot. Stupid crap just happens in life. Sorry you lost the valuables.
Ha, I’ve put coffees on my tailgate many times to load the truck only to stop and grab the empty cup when I see it in my rear view rolling across the street lol.
Sorry to hear. The plus size is winter is coming, and you have all that time to restock./
I lost a few baits and wrecked a few but I'm trying to look at it in a positive light as I will replace the ones that have been effective and try some new ones. Trying to stay positive...
yup, not all of them were great but all my good ones were I. There.
I had a 3600 full of squarebills and Traps catch the wind and blow out of my boat last year. I saw it happen and turned around immediately and was able to recover it, thank goodness.
Good luck. Hope your treasure comes home to you.
