I don't really wanna spend $15-25 on a Lucky Craft or a Megabass, so what are some decent ones under that price range.
Buy LC during a sale is my tip. Or some Smithwicks. Also... Lucky Craft makes a new 10 dollar jerkbait called the lightning pointer. That may be something you're interested in
STORM TWITCH STICK
Rapala shadow rap, it worked pretty good for me. The only problem I had was I lost two of them because the Musky appear to like them too.
idk about you but the shadow rap just hasnt gotten it done for me and my buddy who i fished with smoked me on a storm twitch stick today 3:0

Which Rogue because there are a bunch of different ones?

Look for deals..I've bought quite a few LC pointer 78s/100s from two different Scheels this winter for 9.99 a piece. Aside from that the Rapala Shadow Rap is a great bait that I've only had minimal use with.
Suspending or the Super Rogue for cooler water and the floating Rogue for the summer.

Rapala Husky Jerk
The good less expensive jerkbaits I've found are the rouge, rc jerkbait, and the Strike King jerkbait. They're all good baits and for a reasonable price.
Shadow raps out produced megabass for me this year.
I like the academy h2o jerkbaits. They work awesome for me, and have good hooks.
Any of the Smithwick Rogues, to me they are just as good as the high price jerkbaits.
I just picked up a Luck E Strike RC jerkbait and really like it.
Dont know if they are considered a jerkbait but i use bill lewis slapstiks if you can find them
Smithwicks and Spros.
Like others have said look for deals my local Field and stream just had LC Pointers 30% off.
I have only used rogues, Spro Mcsticks, shadow raps, and husky jerks. And I have caught far more fish on husky jerks than all others combined. They also happen to only be about $5 apiece.
I second H20's jerks, their 110 knock offs are excellent

Yep. 5 bucks. Under 10 bucks look at the Yo Zuri 3DB minnow. Out produced everything else in my jerkbait box this past year.
Picked up two McSticks at Academy on sale for $6.
Storm Twitch Stick and the Yo-Zuri 3DB Jerkbait are both great but the Twitch Stick is $5.50 or less most of the time and they come with good hooks out of the box. When they came out, TW had them for $4.99 and I got a couple to try out, I now own a dozen, under rated bait is all I can say. You'll often hear they don't suspend well, the truth is they don't suspend well when the water temp is under 45 degrees but from 46 to 55 they are killer, the size 10 suspends better than the 8 but the 8 only needs 1 suspend dot and it is perfect. I'm giving details with that bait because it is the least expensive and the absolute best buy in jerkbaits, they have a triggering quality that I have only witnessed from 1 other bait. When you stop the bait, it has a wobble or vibration as it sits in place, the fish can't stand it. I like pearl and threadfin shad in water with color and the new ghost wakasaki, ghost pro blue, and ghost herring are killer in gin clear water.

I agree
Back in olden times, Rogues were the jerk bait of choice. In the era of pre-suspend dots, you wrapped wire around the hook shank. Bending out the hooks helped, both in making the wire wrapping easier and sticking the fish that just swiped at the bait. Use a pretty light drag.
In that same time frame, both Smithwick and Rebel made a spoonbill, deep diving jerk bait, that you would experiment with weights the same way. Both those baits are not very much more expensive now than they were then. If you can find any of the old original G finish baits, they had a very neat "strobe" or flash when they caught the light 3 feet down or so.
I like the SK KVD's and the Storm Twitch Sticks
Haven't thrown them much since investing in LC Pointers, but I assure you that smallies will still eat a Bomber Suspending Pro Long A. They cost $4.99 in the '90s and, checking with a major online retailer, cost $5.59 in 2016.
I recommend the storm twitch stick. If u are fishing in ponds with bluegill and sunfish use those color patterns. When fishing in water with a little stain fish the pearl shad or Threadfin Shad. in clear water use some of the clear colors.
The Academy jerkbaits are very good. They say floating online but all mine suspend out of the box or with very little modification. The RC Stix have been one of my go to baits since they came out. Duo and Spro are both a little cheaper than LC and both very good baits.
Clayton which jerkbait from academy is the one that suspends? Is it the $5.99 one or the $3.99 one? I have been eyeing them for awhile now but i did not want a floating one.
Just picked up two more McSticks on clearance at Academy for $4.98.
Not had much experience with jerkbaits, but the only one I've been able to catch fish on is a LC Pointer sp in chartreuse shad... Had one day where I caught 30 bass on it between 3-6 lbs, no small ones... That was a magical day for me! ?

I did the same on Wednesday, haven't tried them yet so for $6 seemed like the right time...
My local DSG had luck E strike stx on sale for $6, I have no experience with them but the look exactly like the Megabass vissiOn.
is the stx the same as the mb vision?
Surprised not a single soft jerk bait recommendation yet. Use hard jerk baits in the colder water, but a fluke has definitely got its place in these discussions. Especially that Arkansas shiner color.
Saw a Twitch stick 8 in sunfish today for $3.. had to grab it.
X-raps, Shadow-raps and the SK KVD jerkbaits all worked well for me this spring. A year ago I had a few days where they were killing the LuckyStrike RC stx.
picked up a few Spro Mcsticks myself at academy for 4.98. like others said , the h20 academy hardbaits r all excellent.
man they need to build an Academy out this way. We're just getting a gander mtn.
I would buy 10 mcsticks at that price.

The OP is looking of inexpensive jerkbaits and used Megabass and Lucky Craft as examples so we are assuming he is wanting hard jerkbaits and it is why nobody has brought up the fluke. That said, a fluke is more of a warm water bait but it does work well in colder temps when fished on a light jig head or on the back of a fish head spin.
The cheaper ones I use that work well are the Shadow Rap, Smithwick Suspending Rogue, Luck E Strike RC STX, and the Bomber Long A.
Zoom super fluke
Rapala Shad rap is a excellent lure, caught a lot of bass and long nose gar. Even bought a large oak tree. it was the only one that got away.. with my lure..
I believe that when bass are on a jerkbait bite that just about any bait on the market these days will do the catching for you. That being said, take a look at Netcraft. They offer hook-less bodies in bulk that you can get really inexpensively. I've used them and they do work. However, it's always fun to get that "new" jerkbait and imagine it has some magical powers that will get that next bite just a bit faster.
