I tried the "punch skirt rig" this year for the first time. Worked out great in the thick stuff and I had a lot of sucess. Glad I found a new tool.
Umbrella rig
Spybaits
got my first fish with a drop shot this year...not all that confident with it yet but gettin there
Drop shot, a rig, deep cranking, shaky head, topwater.
A Carolina rig
Texas Rig. Went from never having caught a fish one one to having one tied on 24/7 in one year.
Shakey head and it quickly became my confidence bait
Neko rig
Fluorocarbon line count??? This year the first for it. Working out OK but a few things dont care for about it.
frog and it was the most fun i had all year
Rigs not so much. Enjoying an 8' rod with a cabo 40 reel that I purchased about 4 months ago. Been using jigging spoons and waxwing lures, good stuff.
Weightless rig, split shot rig and mojo rig.
Drop Shot and Mojo Rig. The Mojo Rig became my go to technique this year! Learned a ton about that rig.

Texas Rig and Wacky Rig became my to go techniques .
Also tried the wacky rig senko, but did not have much luck nor enjoy the technique so much
No specific rig but this year I started fishing frogs and I am hooked
Learned more about different color presentations this year. Previously I used about 2 two colors, watermelon red flake and pumpkinseed. I played around with different color plastics and jigs to learn more about how fish see lures.
Not really new but I've drop shotted a ton more this year than every before. New to me this year are BIG swimbaits and using chatterbaits. Not much luck with either :-(
C-rig + Jig and i have learned patience pays off
MJ Rig

This X2
Jika rig, produced fairly well but I haven't found a situation I felt it was better than a shakyhead or T rig. I could really see it being good around lots of cedar trees but not places with lots of cedars around here.
Still working on learning the shakey head. Haven't had much luck so far, but the years not over yet.
