Unfortunately NO! Been trying like heck to get a hold of some. Lurenet the supplier is still showing out of stock and havent seen any listed in other stores yet. I am very curious about this bait since I am a dog walking maniac. I am already thinking of possible ways to modify it too like putting a large worm rattle in the rear end and gluing it in.

Dick's has them and the Money Frog's, around 7 bucks. I have a package of each but I haven't got out fishing with them yet. When I do I will post back.

Tks for letting me know .....The Dicks around here are just that in litteral terms...they stink...never nothing in stock and always the last to get it,probably because the market around these parts is dominated by the saltwater stuff.

It's designed to be a weedless walk-the-dog style bait like a spook. (That is what it is designed to be, but I haven't used them so I don't know what the actual action is). I've been looking for something like this to walk over matted vegetation.

The Lurenet site just says to use a 5/0 ewg.I am guessing however that is for the smaller sized one. They also state that the bigger one is about the size of an original zara spook.I really doubt that a 5/0 would be big enough for that thick of a bait.I am thinking more like 7/0 or even one of the gammy g-mag hooks. We'll see though.I can't wait to get a hold of some!

If hookups are tough I want to try to find a way to add a stinger hook as well. I got ideas 8-) Will post whenever I get some of these.

bought some today a Dick's, the smaller puppy size. All I can say is it was a good try, I mean, it's a good idea but the action is lacking in open water, only place I could try them out. The problem I found was that they float slightly tail up, I'm guessing it's because of the weight of the hook. This variation from a spook, that float slightly head up, causes the bait to dive slightly under the surface once a good walking pattern is achieved, seemed to do this 5-7 turns into the pattern and then roll over, causing the walk to stop, this was with the rod tip down. When retrieved tip up, the baits head would pop up, hindering the walking action and pulling the bait straight. I would say the action is decently good over weeds, kinda like walking a frog where a constant action isn't as important. but that's just my take on them.

Without using the bait yet I already had a feeling that was going to happen.Just look at a spook type bait and notice that the weight is in the tail end. My idea about this is to insert a magnum glass worm rattle into the rear and maybe seal it with a drop of super glue. Also could take a nail and put it in like the other guy said.

I got a few other ideas for this bait too and will post as soon as I get my hands on them.

5/0 EWG and yes, it is bouyant. I thought about weighting it with a worm rattle but didn't have any with me

I would have to respectfully disagree.Although I can see your point.

1. A fluke sinks and you have to constantly keep it moving.

2. A fluke is very light and will not push the water and cause the desired disturbance in vegetation,heavy cover,and mats.

Yeah, because frogs have much better hookup ratios than a single EWG hook! :

But seriously, I think it could give a different look to the fish when they don't want a frog. This thing should push WAY more water than a frog if it walks like it's supposed to.

And You've used this bait in the larger size to be able to make a comparison?

I got a hold of a few of the bigger size ones. Let me tell you this thing is like a ton of lead. It is fatter than the original spook and crazy heavy. I think just a bit oversized for the purpose.If they made it maybe an inch longer but half as thick it would be perfect. I haven't been able to try it in heavy slop yet.It seems to me that it will be the best purpose for it(the large one). This is a slop only bait.It moves a ton of water and is like a bulldozer coming through the water.You will need a heavy rod to cast it or walk it.

I must say I was not impressed with the overall walking ability in open water,just like the other poster stated. I added a large worm rattle in the rear and it helped out a little.This bait is a little front heavy but it seems like the biggest problem is that the very large heavy wire hook acts like a keel thus keeping it from being able to glide like a regular walking bait.The actiong is lacking, though it won't matter as much when plowing through some good slop.

I would really like to try the smaller one.I would really like to find something like that I can skip around under and through trees,under docks,under pontoons etc..which is one of my favorite ways to use frogs.

I picked up 2 packs at Dicks 1- in foxy shad and 1 in black lab. They do seem on the heavy side. I worked it in my pond to test it out and felt ok with it.

If you know how to use it it can be about the same! The body of the Hound is very bulky and i just don't see the hook ups being that great. I think they are made to catch fisherman and it is apparently working!

I doubt it. Anything with a single hook to drive through a fish's mouth is almost certainly more likely to hook a fish than a hollow bodied frog.

I'll be testing them soon, you know, actually TRYING the bait. I'll let you know how it works.

I had better luck retrieving tip down, by far. I used a 5/0 EWG hook with it. Also, I rigged backwards a couple of casts and did better with tip up. The bait itself gives a very wide movement when worked probably 3-4 inches, does great as far as being weedless. I used it last night for about a half an hour and caught 1 ok bass on it. I think it has its uses, but won't be a goto bait for me anytime soon. Also, something I noticed was when reeled in quickly, it can be walked under the water.
