This year was the best ever for me in terms of the quality of found items while I was out fishing. I didn't get my fishing kayak until October, so I primarily shore fished all year. Being stuck on the shore can still have its perks . I'll list them in the order I found them.
1. From what I can tell, this is a Storm Wildeye Perch swimbait. The only thing wrong with this were the dull hooks so I sharpened them up and now it's good to go!
2. River2Sea Biggie Smalls BR found in some rocks. It's in really good shape. The bill doesn't even have any damage so I think it was probably dropped. Does anyone know what color this is? I think it might be discontinued since when I tried searching I couldn't find anything close to it.
3. The most expensive item found was this Quantum Teton Trout 4'6" rod/reel combo lying on the shore. I went to the lake one morning before work and almost walked right by it. No one was there that morning and it had a lot of water moisture on it like it had been sitting there over night. It even had, what looked like, brand new line on it! Looks brand new.
4. Rapala Original Floater in bleeding pearl, size 07. I had my kayak by this point and found it stuck to a log that I had just gotten snagged on . Looks like they upgraded the hooks as well.
5. Strike King KVD square bill silent crankbait, 1.5, I'm pretty sure this is an older chili craw color. I found this one in some rocks along the shore as well. Probably dropped.
So how about you guys/gals? Anything cool to share?
I find lots and lots of lures i found cheep poles but you found a nice one
Are you sure you don't walk around the lake with a weapon to find these items? The only thing I find are skunks and trees.
I've found a number of lures stuck in trees.
Also have found a canoe paddle, a hat, etc.
Nothing spectacular, though. I'm waiting to
latch on to a Stella + rod that someone threw
overboard in frustration, LOL.
The local river here is a canal system. When they open the locks for winter the water level drops dramatically. I'll take the kids out a few times on "treasure hunts" and they'll find all kinds of stuff, plus it's a good time to find and make note of structure and cover that is underwater during the season.
Found a spro bbz1 4" shad. Water levels are low out here in Cali if I go bank bashing I have been finding all kinds of jacked up square bills, jigs etc.
Haven't really found anything worth mentioning this year, although I've seen some really strange stuff pulled out of the water in the past. My friend Edwin once fought and boated a Puegeot 10-speed bicycle in 10FOW because he snagged a Roman Made on it.
Several weeks ago I caught a mint condition Lucky Craft Fat CB by 1 treble hook while cranking through some brush. Even the hooks were fresh.
Found a 10xd, jig, rapala fat rap, and 1 ounce rattletrap. Nothing special. The 10xd is nice though. Only a couple scratches brand new owner hooks and split rings.
I Got Me a Zebco .. . . . . .
Sometimes at the end of a long season, I get a little Wacky.
This is one of those times.

That's gotta be some kind of record, right there.... A French bike hooked with a Japanese lure with an Italian name.
Love it!
Tight lines,

This type of stuff seems to happen to him more often than most people. I'm sure he'll beat that record one day.
I caught a rod and reel at the beach this summer that had been "yanked over by a massive fish" this guy was preaching his story to anyone who would listen...I didn't have the heart to tell him that the massive fish ended up being a sting ray the size of a paper plate
Found a no name jerk bait, a worn and faded Bomber, and a Meps inline spinner.
I found lots of line, lots and lots of rats nest fishing line. Nothing worth note though. I lost several lures thats for sure

Nice find! I'd love to find a Spro lure of any kind.

Haha, I can assure you I'm not holding anyone up for fishing tackle. I just constantly look out for stuff. Mainly when I'm walking to new spots since I need to have my head down jumping around rocks and what not.

Yup, when water levels drop you're almost guaranteed to find stuff. An old fishing friend would do the same as you and go out solely to hunt for lures when the water was low and his collection of found items was HUGE of both old and new lures.
Just a bunch of bobbers while out on yak but this summer I did pull in a reel that looked like it has been on bottom of pond for years.....
A Dell laptop...
I am always pulling stuff out of the water/trees when I go out. This is my biggest haul so far:
In Florida I snagged a Penn Battle combo, reel was mint but rod was covered in barnacles. Scraped them off now I have a $100+ combo for free!
A pack of walmart inline spinners, only one missing.
Nothing worth keeping. Snagged and landed an entire setup fishing by a dam. Reel was rusted out and the rod tip was broken.
I thought this was remarkable:

I find topwaters a lot for the obvious reason that they float. I have more topwaters than any other kind of bait for that reason. I've found some good ones (Lucky Craft Kelly Jordan).
I came across a cheap fishing rod and tackle box in the woods by an urban pond, but decided not to take it. I've checked again and somebody does use them. Don't know who would be stupid enough keep their tackle in the woods, but I won't steal 'em.

That's just a small sample of the total number of baits I've found this year, many I found were unusable or in bad enough shape that I didn't want to try to sell them. Also found a nice digger anchor 20' up in a tree, a rod and reel cover, a bow fishing arrow, a zebco 808, a BPS rod and reel combo, a rain coat, 3 duck decoys, a drift sock, and I'm sure other stuff I'm forgetting.
I messed up by not taking my canoe out during the very low water conditions we had around here early in the fall. I'm sure I could have collected a lot of baits off the exposed wood when the water was down three feet or more.
Tight lines,
Bob
Last weekend some of my fellow smallmouth club members and I were doing a river cleanup in a popular state park. One of the most common items we picked up were un-opened cans and bottles of beer. There was an almost full case of beer in one spot. We figured that because the park bans alcohol, the full cans must have been tossed when the park police showed up

Wow! Quite an impressive haul you scrounged up this year!
Deep, what about the plastic Mallard duck decoy we found
