Which company makes the best spinnerbaits? Quality is very important and especially ones that flat out catch fish!
wow, this is going to open a big can of worms.
I have days were a .99cent bargin bin spinner bait will outfish anything and otherday where a big $$ bait works better.
My favorate spinnerbait are War Eagles. I am not a big spinnerbait guy, but I seem to catch fish on war eagles more offten than others. Just my .02cents
I like the original Terminator T-1 (titanium-framed):

I build my own. I can make them anyway I want.
terminator
x2
all that is important is that they spin well and when you bounce off cover or jerk them the blades clank together good. but there is a lot of info out there read and decide what sounds good to you
u can never have too many ;D
I don't throw a spinnerbait much, but when I do it's a Strike King Premier Plus.
War Eagles. Try them and you'll throw everything else in a box in the closet. I especially like the Screaming Eagles.
I really like the R2S glimmer shad spinnerbaits- beautiful and better yet they catch fish-
I currently use Booyah Spinnerbaits and they work pretty well for me but they do bend after a decent fish, you just bend em back into shape and there good to go again. Although I haven't tryed Terminator Spinnerbaits yet and Ive heard tons of good things about them, so Im probably going to buy one of them next time I see them. But yeah, for the mean time I use Booyahs.
They are beautiful baits. I also throw War Eagles a lot. Great baits.

Strike King Premium Plus. It is a very good spinnerbait IMO. Right now www.basspro.com has them on sale for $2.50 they are originally $6.10 I think. These spinner0baits are really great.
Also you can never go wrong with Booyah.
I use the D&M Customs. Absolutely awesome spinnerbaits. Their "Spotted Bass Special" is an amazing clear water bait.
(The blades are silver, even though they look gold)
All of their other spinnerbaits are pretty sweet too!
heres a pic of one of my R2S this is a 5/8oz Chartruse Shad
Terminator T-1 in 1/2 oz with a nickel colorado, gold 4.5 oklahoma on top....buy em how ever you want. but this combo has made me $$

Thanks for telling about the sale! I ordered a few.
Stanley Wedge Plus is all about the blade. Tapered from tip to end these blades transfer energy to the end of the blade causing one heck of a thump. It's all about vibration and water displacement; you can feel every turn of these blades as the track through the water calling up those big one.
I like the old H&H originals. The old classic still produces some nice fish.
Terminator T-1's 100%
I use the 1/2oz and 3/8oz and they work like champs. My two favorite colors are Hot Tip and Blue Shad.
I use all brands as long as they are War Eagle.
Picasso, XCiter and Strike King (in that order) are the ones I use the most. I do have a couple War Eagles and Bass Pro Shops Lazer Eye series that work well.
Personally, I'm not a fan of the titanium models. For me, they have a tendancy to fowl up on the cast where the blades get caught up around the hook. I experienced this on several different brands so I stopped throwing them.
QuoteI don't throw a spinnerbait much, but when I do it's a Strike King Premier Plus.
I just picked up 3 Strike King Premier Plus Spinnerbaits a few days ago at BPS. I cant wait to bust em' out this year (they are my prettiest spinnerbaits by far ) .
i make my own but if i buy one its a picasso
Megabass, Deps, Evergreen.
Instead of buying from the "top-down", I select all fishing tackle from the "bottom-up", by preparing a list of desired features.
Instead of brand loyalty, this puts the onus on the manufacturers. Provided you know exactly what you want,
the winning brand is totally immaterial (it's a self-fulfilling prophecy). Very rarely will you find a manufacturer
that will satisfy all your requirements, so I normally wind up settling for the brand that provides the most attributes.
Depending on the use intended, the feature list for a largemouth bass spinnerbait might look something like this:
<> Single-Spin
<> 3/8 ounce
<> Gold #5 Colorado
<> Black Silicone Skirt
<> Premium Heavy-Wire Hook
<> Long Arm
<> Ball Bearing Swivel (no barrel-swivel)
<> R-Bend Eyelet (no looped-eye)
<> Bullet-Nosed Head

Innovative - give it a shot!
KaRu Lures is proud to unveil their newest lure "The VibraSpin". Developing a new bass fishing lure resembling the spinner bait was the goal for Karl Franzen, V.P. and Director of Research & Development. KaRu Lures has taken the spinner bait, that has been utilized throughout the last century (without much change to the action), and brought it into the New Millenium. "We took a lure that bass fishing enthusiasts have been using for decades and bumped it up to the next level of performance" says Franzen. Taking two of the most important factors in attracting fish, VIBRATION and FLASH, the new VibraSpin encompasses both of these key elements.

I ended up ordering some river2seas, wareagles, premier plus, terminator and kvd's. I will have to use them a lot on my next trip so decided to get 1-2 of each brand to try out. Thanks
Terminator T-1 - they run the truest right off the bat, and are the most durable - they don't need much if any tuning. Those two attributes, IMO, are the most important when choosing a brand. You can always add different blades, skirts, etc., but that don't mean nada if you have to spend all day tuning it.
I like using the 3 and 4 blade spinners in clear water like the one fourbizz put up. I use the Booyah version though. I've had success with that. I've also personally had a lot of success with Terminators hybrid blade fished like a spinnerbait. You can also fish it like a buzzbait.
Terminater custom's are my favorites but the t-1 and super stainless are nice too. Ive fished boo yah many times but they bend pretty easy and the hooks went dull on mine quick.
I use Booyah's,Terminator's and Strike King's. I was really put off by Strike king in recent years untill I tried there Premier Plus and KVD spinner baits, IMHO those are best spinner baits I have ever used.
I'm going to through one out there that I have been throughing for 10 years and nobody has said anything about them... They are one of the best (I think they are the best) clear water baits. I through a Nichols Pulsator spinnerbait 90 % of the time I am fishing a spinnerbait.

Maybe spiroh does. :)
hildebrandt and war eagle. i sometimes throw the gambler ninjaspin. it all depends on the body of water i am on.
Terminator by far 8-)
It's all about the swivel. Cheap spinnerbait = cheap swivel = piece of crap.
Terminator t-1 here too.The occasional mudfish in florida usually bends anything less beyond repair.
War Eagle! Run straight out of the pack, catch fish after fish, bounce them off cover, tossed around the back of the truck and still run perfectly straight! its amazing how straight they still run. I have been stocking up this winter on them! got a whole pile now.. The River 2 Sea Crystal Spin look nice though, i wanna pick one up and try em out.
I have been using strike kings KVD spinner bait for awhile now it is definitely my favorite. I Fish some booyahs too. I have a few T-1s but I don't like them the paint chipped easily and I don't like that I can't bend them to adjust to the retrieve I am looking for.
www.heavycover.com if you havent checked em out you need to
wow, nice link cajun! never heard of them, but very interested in designing my own spinnerbait! gonna try em
While I have never used them, the concept was cool. It took a lot of will power to walk away from these at the Expo in Timonium MD.
www.secretweaponlures.com.
Dave,
Be happy you walked away IMO this is a bait that is given to guys who cann't decide what bait to throw.. the clips will catch more grass and other debris that make a good cast aa mute point.
I have been given several of these baits to try and they do catch fish,, but there are several other options out there.
Again just my opinion
Dale
One of my questions while standing there was, "don't these big clips catch a lot of grass?" The answer given was "yes" but, not any more than others. I couldn't see it. They are beautiful baits. Thanks for the input.
heavycover.com rules. when u get some money, i'm buying some.
more then one.
o.k. alot
darn baitmonkey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
when i get money, i'm sorry
Favorite spinner - up until a year or so ago was the Booyah, but I am really digging the Strike Premier Elites.

You're safe... Megabass spinners lose their paint after one outing of throwing them on rocky points (where I throw most of my spinnerbaits). The 'fish head' profile and finish made me shell out for them, but they don't look like that for long. I like the looks of that river2sea bait (very similar to the Megabass), but I'm not sure if the fact a spinnerbait is a reaction bait that it really matters. I throw War Eagles and Leverages mostly...been wanting to try Nichols. Back when KVD actually had to pay for his spinnerbaits, he threw the Nichols baits. Does the River2sea hold its paint?!
Started off with Stanley in the early 90's. Then went with the Hart Sniper's (very progressive for the time). Now I make my own using thin small wire and heavy heads, makes for great vibration. If I tear it up only cost me $2. My buddy uses War Eagles and I've just bought a couple Screamin Eagles they have the same idea I do...small bait heavy head!!
I sold Ichiban Tackle out of their pro blue crack 5/8 ounce b custom spinnerbait. I actually threw it in the pond today and caught one 2-3 lber? I like throwing this lure into eel grass and ripping it out. It runs true and is unique to pressured bass, like the ones on my golf course ponds. The Japanese lures can not be beat. Hard baits are awesome, and even thier spinnerbaits are fantastic. The only thing that America has got 'em beat is soft plastics!
