Hey everyone,
Just bought 4 of the new XCalibur square bill crankbaits and they are awesome. They look identical to the LC crankbait line without the high price. I got them at BPS for 6.99 apiece. You have got to see these things. I suppose they will also make a complete crankbait line with the same body styles. If so, LC will have some serious competition especially at less than half the price. 8-)
thanks for the heads up. I love Xcalibur's baits and I hadn't heard about this one yet.
Dan, no problem. I still can't believe how much like the LC's they are. They do have a small picture of one in the latest FLW outdoors magazine. It seems to be alot better quality than the new KVD square bill cranks even though the Strike Kings are about a buck 25 less.
Just saw them on BPS's site. I'll admit it's a good looking crankbait. Saw where they only run 0-3', definitely about to order a few.
Marc,
I compared them to the LC's I have and they are very close. Almost looks like the same type of manufacturing setup. Hooks are very sharp also. 8-)
They come in 3 sizes as well. 2", 2 3/4" & 3". I've had a few for a couple of weeks now.
Hey five bass,
Don't you think they will sell like crazy if they come out with the same in deep diving versions?

Probably would. Crankbait junkies, like myself, will buy every crankbait anybody puts out.
The deep divers wont have a square bill though so the overall design may change slightly.
yeah count me in as a crankbait junkie. Don't know what it is but gotta have them all. True on the design. Love the look of the square bill bodies though. 8-)
I'm a crankbait junkie as well. Although I don't fish crankbaits as much, I keep on buying them... I guess I'm a crankbait junkie collecter.
I seen them the other day at BPS when I bought some of the KVD squares. I thought they looked very similar to the LC baits too, which are about my favorite cranks. I'm going to pick some up too, would be nice if they preformed as well since their over half the price. BPS may need to start a permanent sell on the RC's for 9.99 to compete with these. I do hope their finish is atleast a little more durable.

BPS site shows quite a few different colors also. I'll have to check these out at the local BPS. It is a nice looking crank. Its not like I need any more...I better look for another tackle box to put them in also ;D
Tackle Warehouse received their first shipment of them today. They said itll take about a week for them to set up the website to offer them.
Guess who's calling them tomorrow to try to make an early order?
Crankbait Junkie ? Hand raised. I'm sure a few of these will find a way in my tackle box. Though I have to admit swimbaits are stealing more of my attention and $$ these days. I did get a couple of the Strike Kings, only fished it once but it did well.

Why wait on TW?

Yup. Half-off is quite nice. 8-)

??? What're you talking about?
First off, I already put in an order of these cranks this morning from TW. They aren't listed up on the TW site yet, but I ordered by phone and it worked out. I like TW for it its free shipping. There is no BPS close to where I live.
Xcaliburs are 1/2 the price of a Lucky craft is what they are talking about I believe.

I'm pretty sure he's referring to something else.
Nibbler, I ordered them online a month ago and all orders over $35 get shipped free. I dont live near a BPS either.
five.bass is correct. About a year ago, lurenet.com offered a year's worth of their pro-staff discount, for a one-time fee.
I hope they do it again for 2011.
I got in on that half price deal too, i'm about to order a bunch of the squarebills for 1/2 price myself my 1/2 price deal expires soon.
I didn't get the 1/2 off thing from Lurenet. They were gonna charge me $7.19 a bait there with minimal selection.
Looks like I'll be making a trip to BPS to pick up a number of these being a crankbait junkie myself
It's funny that I bought some of these at BPS and found out a few days later that my local tackle shop has had them for 3 weeks. (Bought 4 more, just can't stand not having more than enough) TW is just now getting them?
XCalibur= Quality + fair value.
These look sweeet!!
Just got back from Bass Pro and had to pick up three of these things. They had them in the same isle as the LC and having both next to each other it's probably going to become who of LC to drop their prices. The only differences were tiny subtleties in the colors. I would like to see Xcalibur start making some deeper divers too. I ran one of them this morning and it runs identical to my LC 1.5 that I lost. I was mad when that happened, but now XC has almost the same thing I think I'm good.
