I have fished 4" floating Roboworms and Goby shaped soft baits with good results but would like to know what your favorite drop shot bait is for both smallmouths & largemouth.
My favorite bait for practically any rig is a Trickworm.
Slug-Go or LFT Live Magic Shad
8-)
Robo Worm FX 6" straight tail worm in summer shad color !!!
6" roboworm, flat tail, or a wacky rigged senko..
Zoom Meathead
Lately it's been the Berkley 5" Wacky Crawler.
6" straight tail roboworm wacky rigged. Color mmIII! 8-)
4.5" Roboworm
I never really dropshot unless I'm fishing for catfish or carp (seldom)....is a heavy worm like a 6" senko not worth using? I have some duper flukes and dropshot worms from *** but have yet to get a chance to try them at a good spot for drop shotting
I just feel like a heavier bait like a senko would lie flat against the line and wouldn't be as effective. Maybe I just am tying the drop shot wrong, or am wrong in general?
1. Swamp Crawler
2. Finesse Worm
3. Minnow or baby fluke
Just as long as it jiggles when I vibrate the rod tip.
You can drop shot with any soft plastic. That beeing said, I do have a few favorites.
Zoom tiny fluke, gulp 3" fry, 3" senkos, and 2.5" yum baby craw bugs are the small baits I like. And the will catch just about everything, anytime, anywhere, as long as fish are in the area.
When I upsize the baits a little I go to a Zoom finesse or trick worm, a GYCB shad shape worm, a 4" or 5" Senko, and stuff like that.
For bubba shotting..........I have used stuff as small as 3" senkos, to 10" worms, and everything inbetween.
Zoom Shakey Head Worm 5"
Roboworm Straight Tail Worm 4.5"
Zoom Finesse Worm
my two favs so far are the zoom fluke jr and 4" lizard.
Zoom Tiny Fluke in Baby Bass color.
I put that on a size 1 gama dropshot hook for when fish aren't biting.
I've been dropshotting a Roboworm 4.5" Fat in Aaron's lately. The other that I've been fond of is the RI Flirt.
Zoom finesse worm outfishes them all in the secret color.
Jackall Super Pin Tail perch color
4.5" Robo in Oxlblood red flake.
I don't have a favorite. I've dropped everything from a 4" Frenchfry to a 11" Zoom Ol' Monster. Whatever they want they get.
I usually use a 4.5'' roboworm or an *** or Zoom finesse worm
QuoteI don't have a favorite. I've dropped everything from a 4" Frenchfry to a 11" Zoom Ol' Monster. Whatever they want they get.
I call BS.
If you had to pick one, I would bet on a Zoom Finesse worm, likely pumpkin in color with the tail dipped in chartreuse JJ's.
Close? ;D
My go to bait with a dropshot is a 6in roboworm. If size becomes an issue a quick pinch and you can shorten your worm. The primary colors I use are Aarons magic, MMIII, Mourning Dawn and Salt & Pepper Chartreuse.
Berkley GULP 3" Minnow.
I've gotta add a new one to my list of favorites. 3.5" Live Magic Shad in Tilapia. Man that thing flat out catches fish. Mayan Cichlids seem to like it as much as the Largemouth and Peacocks do.
