Ok guys brag about your $1,000 combos, let’s hear about them. What’s the nicest combo out there in your opinion? I will probably never be able to afford one but it’s interesting to see what you guys have. What’s the lightest, smoothest, most sensitive combo you’ve got?

Baitcasting - Shimano/G Loomis Conquest with a Shimano Metanium MGL (I've got 10 of these combos)
Spinning - Shimano/G Loomis Conquest with a Shimano Stella 3000FJ (I've got 4 of these combos)

G. Loomis E6X MBR 903c 7'6 MH casting rod with Curado 200i PG
and
G. Loomis E6X JWR 852s 7'1 M spinning rod with Stradic 3000 FK

Not half as nice as some others and not a 1K combo but this is my nicest combo. Everything else I have is also St. Croix/Shimano and a couple Loomis/Shimano setups.

Not sure about $1000 but I am really happy with my NRX 894c and Diawa Zillion SW TWS combo. If you are patient you can grab this for a little over $600. I guess that’s why I have two of them because they are so light and fun to fish with.

That looks like the same sofa I have. Funny thing is if it is, that combo cost more than the sofa it's sitting on!

Not only do I not have the nicest combo out there....I don't have one that even comes close to $1000. I couldn't say what my nicest combo is. I've purchase a few new rods and reels the past year...new-2-me anyway. Some haven't been used yet.

I have many $500-600 combos. And I might never get a $1,000 combo. The day there is one that is worth it, I’ll get one. But I have never seen the attraction. Except for the it’s expensive feeling or enjoying the stats and marketing materials. I am not a collector either. If I buy it, it might get beat to hell no matter what the price was. But that will only happen if it’s good enough that I fish it to death. I have some $400 reels that look like they got stomped on dozens of times, with chipped paint and missing handle caps. But I still don’t know where all these guys fishing these $1000+ rigs are??? In the last 40+ years of fishing I’ve only seen 2 in real life. Literally only 2. Most of the time most people are laughing at how expensive my $650 set up is for the type of fishing I’m doing.

Nice Rod, I've got the 7'2 and 7'4. Mine are paired to Shimano's also

That’s easy!
Megabass monoblock racing viola with matching Megabass Arms purple sunburst rod.
Only 26 of each retrieve were produced and the rods are extremely rare too. Looking about $3,000 for a mint viola and add another $1,500+ for the rod.

This is probably in the 1k range but luckily I didn't pay that much this thing could cast a wet sock if you needed it to....

Also not the most expensive and different prices between US and Canada because here these two combos are at the 1000 dollar limit we are talking about in Canada, and upgrading the 894c to a metanium mgl when I return from my moose hunt.
