How long do you fish your Fluoro before changing it? I fish Tatsu and just wondering how often you guys change yours.

I only use fluoro as leader, so pretty often 
I have a friend who has 2 reels with full fluoro and he spools the same fluoro backwards after a year, and completely change it once every 2 years.

I change flouro out once year. I will put new line on if I get a backlash that I can't untangle.

I down' switch out fluorocarbon lines until I've broken off enough that my casting distance suffers. I just changed out a Curado 50 that I filled with 10 lb Abrazx 3 years ago. I had a different Curado 50 filled with 15 lb Abrazx that I changed out last month and it had been 3 years on that reel also. I only changed it out because A couple of decent fish ran me through trees and bushes on a longer distance strike and I got paranoid about how many nicks the line had in it.
I think that the rule of thumb for fluorocarbon is different than for mono. I change it when I think it needs it and that is often a couple of years.

i try not to change mine often normally i will change it once it gets brittle and starts breaking on hooksets that it shouldn't be

I have several spools of fluorocarbon in my den drawer since the mid 1990s.
They're still like brand new

I fish a lot and go a year. We're talking 3 or more trips a week. I always turn it around and I get to short and then respool.

I go at least a year, and often two. By the third year, even the good stuff usually needs changing for one reason or another.

Depends on the condition of the FC after using it all day. FC is very different from Nylon mono/copolymer line that both degrade from UV and high temperatures. All fishing line is degradated by abrasion, nicks, cuts and severely flatten spots and should be cut back beyond those damaged areas. FC has 1 characteristic that other lines don't have, it permanently stretches taking a set weakening the stretched area without being able to see or feel the damage. If you snagged a lure and pull hard over 50% of the line strength before the lure comes loose you may have weakened the FC line severely and should change that length of line.
As Roger said you can store FC for decades in a cool area like in your home.
Tatsu is expensive but isn't any different regarding damage than any other brand of FC.

I usually respool when my line runs low on my spool. After fishing I usually strip off a 12" to a yard of line and cut it. This means with regular use I spool up once a twice a season.

The old stuff I still have was right after fluorocarbon was first introduced.
I only used it for leader material in saltwater, which came in small plastic snap-cases.
Probably a collector's item today

Switch as often as you feel necessary. Some guys don't mind that their line has so much memory it's like a corkscrew. I'm pretty picky and hate that. I used to respool every month or 2. I've since switched to braid with fluoro leaders, been doing it for 4 years now it's the way to go for me.

I fish 10 pound test Tatsu and change it often, unfortunately. I tend to helicopter my lures and twist the crap out of it. Yes, I know how to drag my unrigged line in the water to untwist it. Sometimes, though, you just have to change it. Look at what a 20+ pound foul-hooked carp did to my line after a 35 minute fight, yesterday:

Well I see I'm not the only one changing it every 2 to 3 months. I change it because of the memory and yes I use KVD conditioner on it.

Probably not as often as I should. Usually when I have retied and broken off on snags enough that there isn't enough left on the spool to cast efficently, or I see or feel some type of damage to the line. Flourocarbon does not recover from being stretched, so it is not uncommon for me to cut off 10 yards that's damaged and retie.

I use a lot of wide arbor shallow spools that don't hold much more than 50 or 60yrds of line. i change them out when I can see the spool.
