Well day started off slow, very slow. I managed one bit eventually on the buzzbait, and my buddy hooked into one on a sweet beaver exact same time. Mine was just over 2, his was just over 1lb. I swithced to a bullribbbit, which seemed more practical due to the weeds. A couple of strikes, but all lost fish. On one particular cast, i got a strike, and the fish clearly missed the bait, and i continued my retrieve. Luckily i hit it again moments later, and i hooked into an ok fish. It made a bulldog run by the boat and eventually i got it up. HOLY $#!& the head on this thing! I got it in, and needless to say, new pb! And i just bought these baits today. I think i like them. This beats my old pb caught on a buzzbait. Any guesses on the weight of this fish? I also ended the day with a fish going 3 1/2 lbs. And caught 2 little guys going around 14 inches each. My buddy also caught another smallish bass. Well here is the 2lber i caught in the beginning
and the 3.5 i caught later that day
And the moment youve been waiting for, the fish of a lifetime, for a michigan guy like myself at least. Any guesses?
Great fish! Congrats! 6-7lbs.
i would say its about 7lbs. way to go on the new PB man! thast a big fish.
nice fish, not sure about 7 lbs but probably close to 6
How do you know it's your PB? Don't tell me you weighed all the other fish but not the biggest or is this a contest ;D ;D ;D ;D
All of 6 lbs, SWEET!!!!
Do you know the actual weight?
7lbs if its an ounce Congratulations!
looks every bit of 7lbs to me, great job!!
That is a really really nice fish man. Congrats.
5 lbs 11 oz, big head, skinny body...but still one hell of a fish. Congratulations and now you have something to chase after.
I will say 7lbs. WTG! Great looking fish.
Regardless of the size that is a nice fish.
BTY, it looks like you could use a cheeseburger. Perhaps you should have kept one of those for dinner
Just kidding dude! You are just making us all look bad.
Super 6-7 lb BASS young man!!!
Dan
Well i did weight it and was wondering what results i would get. It was an ounce shy of 7lbs. But the head on this thing was unbelievable, i thought it was 8 or better for sure when i saw its mouth surface. I could fit both of my hands in its mouth. If it had a full belly with eggs, im sure it would be an 8lber. Lets wait and see what spring has in store..
infidel- i actually tried really hard to gain weight, its impossible!! I ate like a pig and lifted every day. I got up to 140lbs, but shrank back down to 132 after track season. I didnt get big, but i got my bench press up to 195lbs, which is totally necessary for hoisting monster fish like this.
Head looks all of 7lbs, but body is much smaller, and looks more like 6ish. I'd say for sure between 6-7. Congrats man!
Great fish, nice pic.
Congratulations!
8-)
Congrats!!!!
That's a nice looking fish! Congrats!!!
great fish, looks to be about an ounce shy of 7 pounds, but i am only guessing
Congradulations (notice i didn't say congrats )
I love the way this picture turned out, i might have been able to convince a few people i got a 9 pound fish

Like I said, I'm just screwing with you. It think it is just funny because the stereotypical bass fisherman has a few pounds to lose. Enjoy it while you have it.
What?!! Are you calling me fat? ;D
I obviously need to get an updated photo in my avatar. I mean..I got a lot of shirts on in this pic.
" I'm a g d dam good looking man" ;D ;D Anybody recognize that?

I'm in the same boat as RocknFish, I'm 19, just hair shy under 6ft, and weigh 140. For about 3 years I was stuck weighing 125-130. No matter what I eat, no matter if I drink weight gainer, or whatever, just can't get past the 145 mark. I'm sure that will change, but I'll enjoy it for now.
Great fish, if I had to guess I would say it is 6 lb. 15 oz.

You guys don't have to feel alone any more.
Shortly before my 39th birthday I finally managed to get 135# packed onto my 5' 10" frame. For 20 years I was stuck at 115 to 125.
The weight will come guys believe me. ;D
I weighed a whomping 148 lbs when I graduated highschool.
I'm now 27 years old and have flucuated between 198-210 for the past four years.
Now I can't lose that gut!!! :'(
Congrats. Healthy looking Michigan bass. Must be a good year for big bass in MI because I've been seeing more 5lbs or better fish than I remember over the last few years.

That's the way a lot of people used to look... before McDonald's came on the scene. >
Later on you'll wish you could get to that weight, believe me, I know.
BTW GREAT fish, I'm jealous
Very Nice! Congrats
Nice work! That is a nice target for you. Imagine the fish that will be your new PB! sweeeet!

Don't worry, when you go over the 30 year mark, gaining weight will be so much easier and the closest thing to a six pack you will see will be the beer you have on the boat.
Outstanding.
Out of all the posts I enjoy reading on BassResource.com, the "new pb's are my favorites.
I love it when a member, especially a new member catches his biggest fish .....yet!!
