Managed to stick this chunker this morning on a black/blue Rage Craw. She fought GOOD and almost hung me in some brush. My 50e handled her like a champ! Love the drag system on that reel. Can't wait to spool her up with some flouro.

Reelcrazy- A lot of my ponds are very overfished. Sometimes you can't buy a bite! Once you learn the contour of the bottom and locate any oddities such as rocks, rockpiles, timber, ridges, etc., you can key in on them and usually get a good one or two. Learning that kind of stuff makes you a better fisherman. Give me a fresh pond that never gets fished, however, and I will go to town.

these fish aren't SCC fish put are pond fish. And the rage craws left at SCC if they are attached to monofilament then they deff. aren't Hayden's haha. We actually haven't fished there in the past 3 weeks busy schedules working 40 hours a week ect. I also understand why you want to get on us for fishing ponds, but alot of the times it's the only place we are able to go. At least we are out fishing. I thought other fisherman were supposed to support fishing!? Especially younger guys that have a passion for it!

I was just wondering. You look too old to be in high school. That fish wasn't caught at SCC. It was a private pond.

I agree with you Reelcrazy about how it is easier on ponds, especially private ponds. I guess that seems to be the knee jerk reaction when we see someone have access to private ponds and we don't. I remember the days when i had access to some and even if it did get crowded, they were incredibly fun to fish and the numbers of 5 lb plus fish was wonderful! But, i guess the point is, they have access to it and if I were them i would guard those spots with their lives! It's always fun to see them catching nice bass out of them, and the rest of us jealous anglers must enjoy the posts.
I guess my only pet peeve with these debates is when pond fisherman really hang tight to "it's just as hard if not harder" to catch bass in "this" particular ponds as it is in public lakes. Yes ponds do very, but the likelihood of frequently catching nice bass is increased. But, they are doing great at these ponds and it is fun to watch their progress. It is just a matter of time till they post that 10 pounder! Hopefully they get her on film.

i have access to tons of private ponds i fish them when i dont have access to my boat or time to take the boat out what it boils down to is you are catching nice fish point blank im sorry to even start this whole mess but i stand by my guns with the statement it is too easy to fish private ponds fishing lakes and rivers is just a completely different ball game and i think hookingem can vouch for me there have fun at least your doing something you like to do and catching big fish how could it get any better and no im not in high school i went to manchester 4 years ago

Yea I have to agree with shimmy and reelcrazy about the private pond thing. I have a private pond im allowed to fish and they catch a 6+ # fish atleast once a week and multiple fish of the 2 - 5# range on a daily. I dont know if its just my competiveness or what but I like have to work for a bite. And go through my tackle according to weather conditions. Cause the pond I have permission to fish I can catch fish on the same bait all day any day of the week. Not taking anything from yall or anything by any means. Its just a complete different feeling when you hook up to a 5+ # fish in a public fishery versus.a private stocked pond. But yall are doing good and like shimmy said when the 10#er comes hopefully yall get it on video. Good luck to yall boys and keep on catchin.
