Product reviews of KastKing Folding Fillet/Fishing/Camping/Hunting Knife, Razor Sharp G4116 German Stainless-Steel Blade, Non-Slip Handles, 13 ½ inch Overall Length, only 7 ½ inch Folded, Includes Sheath
Jerry Luong : Really sharp
Super sharp and very comfortable to hold.
Jon Steigerwaldt : Well Made
Sharp, well made, durable, love it for the price. Great buy.
Jeff Ferguson : Can do the job as needed.
Not as sharp as I thought.
Lauri Trexler : Another great product from KastKing
I love that the blade folds into the handle. This protects the blade and makes the knife super compact. The handle feels great and gives a lot of control. Once again a slam dunk from KastKing!
Edenbayou : Good quality folding fishing knife
I needed a folding knife for kayak fishing and this knife appears to be a good quality knife for a very reasonable price. Has a thick sheath and an opening for a carabiner. Feels solid in the hand and should be a great tool for cutting bait, fish filets, etc
JP : Awesome for the price
This is a great great kinfe.I Love the fact that it folds fits perfectly in my tackle box, also the sheath design can fit on a belt or just slide in your pocket. The grip has a very nice feel and has not slipped from my hand,I find that the blade length is perfect for the Flounder and Pompano that I have caught
Simon Adventum : Very sharp compact folding with a low price tag
Got the item very fast a few weeks ago, but I wanted to wait to use it and then leave a review. Yesterday and was finally able to use it on a fish, it was so nice and compact to carry it around, I cut bait with it and then fillet, I was lucky I caught a nice fish and it is so sharp that I could use it to cut thin slices for sashimi. Kastking is on fire with innovative products, can't wait to see what they come up with next.
Braden Schut : Starts sharp, and stays sharp
This knife is sharp! It made short work of some bluegill I caught. I never had to sharpen it while I was filleting fish. I would highly recommend this knife.
txmedic1 : So sharp!
Literally the sharpest knife I’ve ever seen. I have many knives, from cooking to tactical to fishing, and this knife by far is the sharpest right out of the box, that I’ve ever seen. The rubberized grip is a great also, which will help while cleaning fish.
Brandon T. Barrett : Don’t buy
Straight garbage, flimsy, crooked blade and dull out of the box
Dustin : Nice folder
Excellent little knife, especially for the money. Needs to be sharpened out of the box, but most knives do. No complaints.
Amazon Customer : Great knife, easy to keep always on hand.
When packing light to go fishing it is always hard to find a spot in my tackle bag for a full size knife. This folding knife solves that problem! It’s plenty sharp right out of the box and based on my experience with Kastking’s other knives I know it will hold it’s edge well. It is very comfortable in hand and quit easy to open and close. I really like the belt holster as well. I will probably buy another to keep in my second bag.
Jake : Hard to get sharp
This knife did not come sharp, so I had to sharpen it on receiving it. It will be a good knife, but it is hard to get it as sharp as I want it.
Paul Stewart : Great fillet knife!
Seriously a great fillet knife to either bring camping or straight on the ice. I got to use this the other day and it worked like a charm definitely five star rating
?!? : Grandson's Joy
Folding feature perfect for the tackle box. Blade styled just right to help a novice filet-er do his work.
YJJ : Great product for the price
Bought this knife to fillet fish. Love this knife. Versatile, compact, lightweight, and very sharp. Great product for the price!
PMR : Great knife for backpacking, canoeing, etc.
The pictures show this knife side-by-side with my beloved folding Buck brand knife that has accompanied me on multiple trips to the Canadian wilderness. They both have very comfortable rubberized grips, but I really like the contoured shape of the KastKing knife better. The Buck knife is build like a tank and weighs almost an ounce more than the KastKing, so only time will tell if the KastKing can withstand the abuse the Buck knife has over the years. It seems sturdy for as lightweight as it is.
One major plus of the KastKing knife is that it comes with a very durable sheath with thick Velcro closure and a big accommodating belt loop on the back. I don't plan to carry this knife on my side, but it will definitely find itself attached to the outside of a backpack! We keep our fillet knife tucked away in a pack so it doesn't get lost - a nightmare on a 10 day wilderness trip when you eat fish daily - but the option to keep this knife safely external on a pack is going to be a nice alternative that I look forward to.
As for cutting ability - I have not tested it, yet. In my experience, fillet knives all hold a sharp edge - its just a matter of how well the edge holds up to filleting pike and big lake trout day after day. My Buck knife uses 420J2 steel - which is pretty much crap for a fillet knife though extremely corrosion resistant. I have gotten good at sharpening it over the years though it is not fun. This Kastking is 416 stainless - which is superior to 420J2. The KastKing knife also has a slightly thinner blade, which makes it more flexible and easier to work with.
This was not intended to be a comparison of 2 knives, but it seemed to be a easy way to review a knife I only recently bought as I have LOVED my Buck knife over the years and have even given several away as presents. But this KastKing at 30% cheaper, lighter, more portable, and made of superior steel is my new knife of choice.
Tony : Great Utility
The knife is sharp. The grip is rubber and should work with wet hands. The blade has some bend to it ideal for filleting fish. It is great to have a full size knife that can fold and he carried on a belt with the provided sheath.
Hunter : Great knife.
Good size for walleye.
Amazon Customer : It's a good fillet folder.
It's a good fillet folder.
Don Adolpho : deseoso por usarlo
Buena calidad, deseoso por usarlo
R & L : Sweet Fillet , or hunting Knife.
Very ,Very , nice build. Sturdy . The sheath sucks . But the folding lock blade is EXCELLENT !!!!!! Came sharp , but a little touch up and it's scary sharp. 100% worth every dime paid for it. If they had made a decent holster for it. They would have a bestseller , I'm telling you. The knife is Fantastic. Great for fishing or hunting . It's solid as a rock . Love mine !!!! I'll have to get a leather sheath made for it though. Why do great knives always have crappy sheaths ? Peace
Donald Crocker : Good
Good
Milton #KASTKINGHOLIC : Fantastic folding knife
The New Speed Demon Pro Folding Fillet Knife 6.5in. It feels great it's a manual open and close not automatic. Kastking come out with another great product.
Michele : folding fillet knife Hell Ya
fits in tackle box and works great I m not a pro weekend fisherman
?!? : Grandson's Joy
Folding feature perfect for the tackle box. Blade styled just right to help a novice filet-er do his work.
Ryan : Great little folder fillet.
This is an AWESOME little folder fillet knife from Kastking. VERY sharp. Good flexibility. Love it. Comes with a neat little "sheath" I guess you could call it. I gotta say, Kastking is one of the best value fishing companies out there. I own polarized glasses, and reels made by Kastking as well. Quality items, look great, work even better.
joe weibeler : Don't miss this knife!
Great value! Coolest filet knife I have ever owned!
Amazon Customer : It's a big handle...
I forgot that I bought this knife, and I have since lost it, so I have no idea how it cuts fish. The handle is very large (which makes sense because it has to fit the blade), but I'd recommend measuring out 7.5" before ordering and decide if you really want that large of a handle on a fillet knife.
I'll update the review if I ever find the knife, catch a fish, fillet the fish, and remember to update.
Jake : Hard to get sharp
This knife did not come sharp, so I had to sharpen it on receiving it. It will be a good knife, but it is hard to get it as sharp as I want it.
Charlie D : Space saving foldable fillet knife includes a belt pouch.
The overall construction is excellent and the foldability allows for space saving and keeps the blade safe. Stainless steel hardware and coated blade should allow to handle the harshness of the saltwater fishing environment. I like the feel of the knife especially the textured and curved handle. It fits well in my hand. The blade lock feels secure and safe plus the blade springs closed when folding the blade back in. A durable pouch is included with Velcro closure and a belt loop. The blade is thick but still allows a decent bend to clean fish fillets. I would recommend this fillet knife for anyone who wants a well built compact fillet knife.
Ellie???? : Great gift
Bought this for my father in law and he LOVES it! He is a hard-core fisherman and so far it holding up great!
Amazon Customer : Not bad
It’s nice I like the fact that it’s folds away especially when you have it in a tackle box comes in handy. Only wish it was sharper therefore 4 out of 5
basssssin : Great knife and fits in my pocket!
Awesome for my catch and cook session. Got it in, brought it to the lake, and cleaned fish on the ice. I like the pocket knife method and it's razor sharp.
Brian : Quality
Like always for kastking, great quality item for the money. Love it
Amazon Customer : great compact
I like
Tez22gun : Exactly what I expected
Very sharp and nice blade very firm grip and just nice use it to skin or cut meat very good
RENE R. : Quality
I just got the 3 knives, I am impressed of the KK presentation, box and the knife looks and feels great. This is my first KK product and I like it. Will take a look at your baitcaster reels.
Robin : Great knife and value
Best filet knife I have ever owned, also the least expensive. It feels great, has just the right amount of flex to filet easily and fits great in a small tackle box. It did get a small amount of rust along the back after exposure to salt water even with thorugh daily rinsing. Can be hard to open.
john : Very convenient.
I used this knife to cut a lady fish for bait and it worked beautifully. Would have given it 5 stars but it needs some sharpening before you begin to use it. Love the fact that it can fold to save space.
LSire : Bent blade
It’s hard to see the bend in the photo but the blade came bent, and it wasn’t ground evenly on both sides. It’s not very sharp at all, from the reviews that I’ve seen so far, people have had nothing but good things to say about it.
I can almost get behind them because it’s comfortable, bright, convenient, sturdy, seems to have a decent heat treat( I cannot bend the blade back), they just need a little bit better quality control, to not let a bent blade out of their doors. And to make sure it gets a proper edge put on it, considering it’s supposed to filet fish/game and cut through rib bones and whatnot. Giving 3 stars because everything that makes this a knife I have something to complain about but at least it has a decent Heat treat.
Jeasy Wilson : Great constructed knife
It is light to carry. Appears to be very well constructed. Has razor sharp blades. Seems pretty well balanced all around. Comes with a case to loop around belt.
Amazon Customer : Refund Please
Don’t get me wrong I loved it for the one time use I had was very stable n sharp but today I went to cut up a fish and took it out the Case it comes in and the blade was not locking in place and closing I love this product and don’t wanna give it a bad review I just want another one if possible
LORI : Fit for the bigger hand
This is a big, clunky knife. The handle is molded to fit bigger hands. The opened length is very long. The blade doesn't offer much flex as a fillet knife should. I expected the blade to be sharper as well. It is heavy in the hand. On the plus side, the belt pouch is a good fit. For the price, it is just okay. It comes beautifully boxed for gifting. I gave it a 3 because of how the knife feels in the hand. I use filet knives a lot in my kitchen. I wanted one to travel.
Jeremy : Not Sharp
If you're OK sharpening this knife when you get it, it's a decent knife. If not, get something else.
Jeff Ferguson : Can do the job as needed.
Not as sharp as I thought.

Rob S. : Awesome knife
Quality
?!? : Grandson's Joy
Folding feature perfect for the tackle box. Blade styled just right to help a novice filet-er do his work.
Kyle Fancher : Compact and balanced
The blade is sharp and it seems to be sturdy. The handle feels long at first, but it actually balances very nicely when the blade is extended and ready to use. This knife folds down to less than half the size of my Bubba blade so I’ll probably take this filet knife with me on my kayak and leave the Bubba for use at home.
