How do you get the drag to work and the reel to lock in place?

Answer: On the front of the reel is a knob, turning it left or right will loosen or tighten the drag, if u just got it and out of the box the reel handle is off and ur trying to put the handle on and lock it u need to stick the handle shaft in all the way on the right side(unless ur lefty) , then with the end cap that came with it threads on to the other side, tighten it snug but not too tight or it will strip

I purchased the 4000 model, filled it with braid and I matched it to a 7’ rod. I have been catching rockfish, sand bass, calico bass and twice had to fight big fish that broke my line after 25 min fight. I like how light the reel is yet very strong and the drag is very smooth. I am going to purchase the 6000.

I use this reel for saltwater shoreline fishing, sometimes in my kayak and surf fishing, its a bit heavy i noticed right away, also after the 3rd outing the drag clicker stopped working which I can probably fix, other than that it casts 100 miles out with little weight and 30lb braid

Plastic body with felt and steel (not stainless) drag washers, 5 +1 bearings (not stainless), only pinion bearing brass others are cast zinc. In the picture you can see my small magnetic screw driver holding the spool shaft and bearings. Drag washers , bearings and shaft all have a "strong" magnetic attraction. In the second picture you can see the plastic body and cover. The rotor is also plastic but it does have a aluminium bail and spool. How this reel was given 5 stars by anyone is beyond me. IT DOESN'T COME CLOSE TO IT'S DESCRIPTION.

Amazon Customer : Don't buy, waste of money at any price!

This reel has a plastic frame, not metal as in description. The frame on the reel flexes while reeling in with any amount of weight on it. I bought this rel to keep on the boat just to snag bunker and it couldn't even handle that. I don't know who put these good reviews on but they must be paid. This will not handle any snook or striper or blue fish. bearings are not sealed, bearing siezed from washing it off after use, lol. do yourself a favor and speed a few more dollars on something decent.
