i have a 6 year old quntaum smoke pt 40, is this the same reel?

Answer: I think they've revised it. Many reels on the market today are tweeked more often to meet the needs of demanding anglers. Check the specs on the company's website ,etc.

what would a quantlm 80 olympus reel cost?

Answer: It’s blue. The salt water version made with corrosion resistant parts is blue. The fresh water version has red accents.

This reel have waranty ?

Answer: Quantum warranty is 1 year. If you fill out the warranty card and register it they will give you an additional 2 years no charge. So it is 3 years as long as you register it with quantum

Does the 50 have an automatic closing bail?

Answer: Of course… turn the handle & the bail closes…

Answer: Depends on line being used. I use braided, on that reel. 12lbs you will get about 240 yds

Answer: Of course, just don’t submerge your reel. Don’t rinse it with water. Wipe clean with “Corrosion X” and apply a few drops of reel lube and go fish.

What braid is good for this reel?

Answer: 20LB is the recommended weight. As far as brand there are a lot of good ones out there. Power Pro and Seaguar may be 2 of the most popular. But that is all preference
