Answer: I have owned one and is has held up surprisingly well. Much better than one I bought from a big box store. My only problem was one of the medal eyelids came loose but I was able to glue it back with gorilla glue and its been fine. I love this rod combo. I keep it in my truck all the time so im always ready to just hit the water if I get the itch to fish.

The rod and reel felt great at first. Although I wasn't happy that the rod didn't come with any type of grip whatsoever. Yesterday I went fishing and the whole rod started to fall apart. Unfortunately the rod broke the first time I used it, literally the first cast. The reel itself is nice, smooth when casting and reeling in (put it on a different rod to use) but the rod snapped and is of very poor quality. I would give the reel 4 stars and the rod -10 stars.

I was really excited about this rod/reel combo when it arrived. It felt lightweight and retracts to a small size, which was what I was looking for. However, when I was loading the reel with fishing line, the tip of the rod feel off... It was broken before I even got to use it. I would be really bummed if I cast with an expensive lure and the flies out with the line or if I have caught a fish. Unfortunately this does not inspire confidence... I give quality a 1-star, but I added a star because I like the look and feel of this rod.

So we did catch a fish with god pole but the knob that screws onto the reel handle feel off mid cast. Made reeling in super annoying as the handle would keep falling out.

The reel is super smooth and it looks and feels like it's more expensive then what it actually is. The fishing pole itself looks really good and the aluminum parts on the pole look and feel like actual aluminum and not just painted plastic. It's a little bit rough and stiff extending the rod, and felt like the pole was going to break when I tried to close it. When I opened the package it arrived in, the guides were broken off and not attached to the rod at all. As far as being light weight it's not. A full size non collapsible fishing pole weighs less then this one does. I got it in the 7ft 8 inch version and considering it cost $42 before tax and shipping it's a bit of a disappointment that the fit and finish is crappy. The $15 Dock Demom midget fishing poles from walmart are a lot higher quality then this one.

Well I am Impressed with the quality of this rod, however it seems unusually easy to tangle it up --- rod is beautiful and worth the money, Its just a pain in the ass to keep it maintained...

I was very happy to receive the fishing rod. Looked good at the first look even if the lures were quite smaller than what I expected. But the rings came off, as you can see on the picture, the second time I used it. So it is cheap, but for 1 hour of use that still pretty expensive!!

it's a great idea but there's no way to lock it in the open position and the fittings aren't right enough to keep it open. I found that often just seeing the hook would cause a complete collapse
Peiyu Rang : Great All Included Set to Get Me Started but Poor Quality Rod
This product is great as it's light weight, includes everything you need for getting started fishing. However, the quality of the rod is bad. I went went fishing with it for 4 times. And in the last time, two rod rings flew out with the lure when I cast. I have to buy a new rod but will continue using the tackles and reel.

One of the great things about this fishing rod is the way it retracts down to the size of my arm yet extends to the size of my body because of that I can hold this in my car to have it with me at all times should I have that random urge to go fishing. it's very portable and out of the way and it's built with quality material so it doesn't seem like it'll break easy and for the price

The fishing pole is great, easy to store, use and even for a beginner. My daughter is only 8, and caught a first the first time on her own, in less than 5 minutes.
Ben Key : Don’t waste your money
Rod is decent and packs up nicely. Reel is a complete piece of junk. I used it once and rinsed / oiled it and it is completely locked up do to cheap non stainless steel parts. Took it apart to fix and replace and this is just the start of it. Ball bearings not pictured are all locked up which is the main reason for the problem. Wish I could get my money back.
