Q:
If i buy the blackhawk 2 which reel woul be best?
Answer: I recently purchased the KastKing Lancelot 2000 and coupled with a 6.9 ultra light rod and the first cast caught a nice bass. Using P/line 6# test this reel is my favorite. I have 40 other rigs of top brands and this KastKing is smooth and I have used it more than the others without issues.
Answer: The kastking Lancelot would be a great option! I own the 2000 and use it with a 6’8 ultra light fast action graphite rod and it’s just such a smooth reel
Answer: Hi Phillip,
Q:
can i use this for my spinning boat jigging rod
Answer: l dont see why not, i have never tried with this reel so i really could not tell you honestly,i use a baitcaster for that.

where can i get a spear spool for a lancelot 3000
Answer: I don't you do. Because I didn't get one with my Lancelot 2000.
Q:
Can I use 10lb test line on the 2000?
Answer: Yes you can. I am using 15 pound braid as main line attached to 20 yards of 12 pound fluorocarbon at the end for casting
Answer: Yes, I’d say so. I have the 4000 and I have 15lb test on it and it works amazingly.

Answer: Hi Omar,
Answer: If you have the right line most definitely.
Q:
Can i use 5000 for light salt water fishing

Answer: 5000 would definitely work in ocean Situations
Answer: Hi There,
Q:
Can I use 10lb test line on the this reel?
Answer: Yes. The 4000 and 5000 series are rated for that in mono. The 3000 could probably handle that too because these are pretty well-made reel but it’s not rated for that.

Q:
Can I add 6lb floro line to the 3000 reel or should I stick with the 2000?

Answer: I think the 2000 should be fine
Q:

Answer: Hi there,
Q:

Product reviews of KastKing Lancelot Spinning Reel, Freshwater Fishing Reel, 5+1 Steel Ball Bearings, Up to 17.5lbs of Smooth Drag, High-Capacity Aluminum Spools, Aluminum Handle.
ART44 : Good quality for price
I ordered the 4000 series and could not be more happy with it. I ordered it to withstand the long hikes and big fish the boundary waters of Minnesota offers and it did just that. It is as smooth as can be and I have not had a single problem with it even with the taxing conditions I have put my reel through.
Seth Robinson : Doesn’t work!
Terrible. Wouldn’t lock even with the switch. This means you basically have to be holding the reel so it doesn’t unwind, or hold the fishing line. Basically useless. I ended up spending the week using a cheap Walmart reel instead.
PB Backenson : Great Value
Really, you can't go wrong with this for $20 (or whatever it's going for right now). No, it's not the most technologically advanced reel with the most ball bearings or things like that. But if you want a budget reel that is not absolute crap, you can't really go wrong with this one. I bought the lightest one for an light line setup, and it is a pleasure to use.
T. J. Haun : Hands Down Best Reel for the Money!
This review is of my initial impressions if the Kastking Lancelot 2000 Series reel. For $25 I'm very impressed. The fit and finish is top tier, and the reeling motion is incredibly smooth and it feels so sturdy for being so light weight. I'm thoroughly impressed. Compared to what you can get for $25 in a big box store, this seems to be the best sub $30 value. I will keep this review updated as I get to test the longevity of the reel.
Edit 05/20/19: I've been hitting the lake hard since I got this reel. I've probably landed close to 45 crappie and slab bluegill since I purchased this reel. I was so impressed with it, I bought the Brutus to try. It's pretty nice, but the Lancelot is better in all regards. I like this reel so much I bought a 4000 series for my catfish rig. The catfish rig is gonna get used, and abused and beat to hell, so I will be back to report how it holds up. But I cannot recommend this reel enough.
bacaruda73 : Solid reel for the money
As always Kastking provided me with a great reel for the money. I see claims that these are 100 dollar reels for much less. I wouldn't know, I never buy reels in the 100 dollar range. Never the less, it's work more than what I paid for it!
This is my 3rd reel from them and I think it fantastic. I am glad that there are still companies that try and not kill your pocketbook.
Patrick Scaramucci : Not bad for the price
This is my first kast king reel I ever purchased, I saw a lot of decent reviews and I was looking for something inexpensive to put on a rod for small freshwater fishing. The reel looks great, holds good amount of line on the spool, and overall for the price it’s a good deal. My only complaint is that it’s a little noisy while dealing, almost like a slight grinding feel, not as smooth as some other obviously more expensive reels. That’s the only reason I gave it 4 stars. But if your looking for just a basic reel to do some once in awhile fishing, I would recommend it, like I said for the price it’s a good deal.
Klabeff : Watch Out Bass!
Update! I love this reel. I have had the opportunity to use it several times and it is so smooth and cast beautifully. Watch out Bass!
TH : You get what you pay for
Received today, put line on and went fishing. Very smooth, and had no issues reeling anything in. I got the 2000 series to use in mostly creeks. Caught a few small mouth and one trout. So far couldn’t be happier. If something changes I will update. This is my 4th KastKing reel, and I’m very happy with them all
Update: I will reduce my rating to 4 stars. It is still a good reel, but fished for trout 4 straight days, all day, and now since the newness has worn off, or grease has started breaking down it has a little grinding sound, still reels good and all, but kinda sounds like a plastic on plastic sound
New update: very disappointing, reel is all but useless, froze up on last trip out to the creek. I have other KastKing reels and they are above expectations, this one will have to go in the trash now.
C. Raines : Great price for the quality
Great starter real for someone looking for an entry-level priced spinner reel but not an entry-level quality. Comparing it to another newly purchased reel from a competitor and you can already see the differences upon initial disassembly, and the better quality KastKing offers by having heavier gauged materials.
Kim D. : Already catching fish
I purchased this reel for my dad who loves to fish. It came in yesterday and it's already catching fish. He took it down to the harbor and fished off the docks last night. He as very impressed with the reel, said it was extremely smooth to reel in and durable. He was happy it had a reversible handle to make it easier to operate. He had nothing but good things to say. He was catching red fish and trout with ease and was surprised when I told him the price. Great quality for the price you pay.
SendLoops : Lightweight, sturdy, great value.
Fast shipping, product exactly as described. Lightweight and sturdy. Stacks up with more recognizable brands. I’m using for freshwater so can’t comment on saltwater durability. Bought together with the telescopic rod which is also excellent.
Greg : Awesome reel
The price was right. It’s extremely smooth reeling. Also what I like about it is that it doesn’t spin back at all, other reels don’t have that feature and you can lose some fish by setting the hook and having that space of excess line snap when you set the hook.
christopher wilson : Great for the money
Great reel for the money. I have caught several decent bass (2.5lbs) on it and it does what it should. I put 2 "cheaper" set ups like this together to let other people use while I use my "nice" sets up. I find myself loading this up on my Kayak and using it pretty frequently. Nice reel, would recommend.
I took it to the river, where I stand in the water is reels frequently get wet. Using in that condition has destroyed reels before, they fill up with silt from the river and lock up. This reel got a little "grindy" but still work great!
Seth Robinson : Doesn’t work!
Terrible. Wouldn’t lock even with the switch. This means you basically have to be holding the reel so it doesn’t unwind, or hold the fishing line. Basically useless. I ended up spending the week using a cheap Walmart reel instead.
Travis Tanner : Good Value.
Out of the box, this seems to be a pretty good quality reel. It reels smoothly, but at some positions, the bale seems to stick open after casting and doesn’t click over as smoothly as I’d like. However, this is a $20 reel and for that price, it would be very hard to beat the quality of this one. I’m going to throw some Ardent reel butter on there and see if that corrects the issue!
mojoe8 : Solid and Smooth Reel
This is my first KastKing reel and I got the S3000 as I wanted to get a larger reel to use for largemouth bass in GA. Paired it with Cabela's Fish Eagle Light Rod 6'6". The reel feels very solid and is smooth and fast and works well with the rod. Still new to me but I will come back and update with more details as I fish more with it this summer.
Wanda J Prescott : Buy it u will not regret it.
Very good brand for the price.
I have caught some nice size bull red fish and even black tip shark with no problem.
I now own 3 KastKing Reels and I am very satisfied with the performance of them.
Nunya D’Ambisness : Not sure this is a real Kastking.
I’m a Kastking fanboy. I bought the 2000 & 3000. I like the way it looks and feels right out of the box. My experience so far is that the reel tends to freeze up after every single outing. I lent one to my buddy who used it for two trips and probably forgot to rinse it and the anti-reverse bearing with the unsealed adjacent bearings have all rusted terribly. Unless you enjoy tinkering with your reel, this is not for you.
Robert rolett : $100 Reel for under $30
I got this reel in yesterday it showed up really fast. I immediately put it on my zebco 6'6" medium rod. I took it fishing today and it casts like a dream. Hands down one of the best spinning deals I have bought. Well worth the money
Fustino Santos : I love this reel.
You can't go wrong with this reel. I fish mainly in fresh water so I don't know how it will hold up to salt water. But this reel is awesome with fresh water fishing. I've caught large mouth, small mouth, strippers, and catfish. I've had this for about three months without cleaning or rinsing them and it's still working smooth. I have a 2000 and 3000 series, and I'm getting the 5000 series. If your looking for a budget reel, get this one.
lycanthrope : Super solid and smooth reel
Granted I've only had this reel for a month, but I absolutely adore it! I went with the 2000 series; the weight is perfect (neither too heavy nor too light) and it's as smooth as glass. I'm really pleased with this for the price; I had been strongly considering reels in the $80-$100 range and I'm so glad I decided to try this instead
Russell Maltby : Blown away!
Was shocked how nice the quality for the price point, has the feel and look of a much higher price reel, if it works as good as it looks and feels I will be buying more!
Andrew : Light yet strong! Very nicely oiled to for a new reel!
I really love how this reel feels in my hand. Especially on the Kastking Centron spinning I have on it. Again Kastking! Amazing love tour products. I myself have been a Shimano/Daiwa guy for years. But when I got interdouce to your products I'm very impressed. Again keep up the good work and tight lines!
Tony Iaconelli : Awesome reel at an unbeatable price!
I purchased the Kastking Lancelot 2000 to replace a reel that I recently broke. I didn’t want to spend much, but was looking for the best bang for my buck. The reviews for this reel were great, and at a price of $20-25 you can’t beat it.
I am thoroughly impressed with this reel. Far exceeded my expectations! If your looking for a high quality reel at an unbeatable price pick one up! I will definitely be purchasing more.
The reel itself is lightweight, extremely smooth and looks bada** with the flat black and gold finishes.
Highly recommend
Eduardo : Unlucky? Bad rusty bearings??
I like kastking products and thought I would give this reel a try. I have 2 baitcasters and 2 spinning reels from kastking that have worked flawless for the past year. This one not so much! I haven't been able to use it much and when I finally got it out to fish (fresh water) I noticed a rough and grinding noise when reeling in. I took it home and took it apart to inspect, a bearing was full of rust so I thought I could clean it up and oil. The grinding noise has cut to half since but I think I got a bad reel. I hope it's just a fluke since my other kastkings reels have worked well.
Michael : Works just as well as those 100 dollar reels
Works well so far I'm able to cast 10 to 30 feet farther with this reel vs my 15 year old reel but it is like comparing apples to oranges the kastking has more ballbearings a much smoother reeling then my old reel. The one thing I wish this reel did have was a casting trigger then the reel would be perfect imo for most fresh water fishing in the Northeast of usa
bacaruda73 : Solid reel for the money
As always Kastking provided me with a great reel for the money. I see claims that these are 100 dollar reels for much less. I wouldn't know, I never buy reels in the 100 dollar range. Never the less, it's work more than what I paid for it!
This is my 3rd reel from them and I think it fantastic. I am glad that there are still companies that try and not kill your pocketbook.
Sidney Lorentz : Solid unit for the price!
Construction of this reel feels solid. Mostly made of metal with some plastic parts. Spins super smooth. Haven’t had a chance to fish with it yet but feels like it’s going to work well.
Raymond : Absolutely perfect for what I needed.
Spooled and test casted my reel. Works beautifully! Very happy with the weight! I got my kastking blackhawk 2 and the KK lancelot for my backpacking rod and reel works like a champ!
Allen : Backup rod works
Can't attest to the long term durability but so far so good. No bad for a 20$ reel. Wish it felt a little faster and smoother but for what it was intended for it works great. Caught my 2019 PB with it... 24inch LMB
ART44 : Good quality for price
I ordered the 4000 series and could not be more happy with it. I ordered it to withstand the long hikes and big fish the boundary waters of Minnesota offers and it did just that. It is as smooth as can be and I have not had a single problem with it even with the taxing conditions I have put my reel through.

dward232004 : Fantastic Reel
This reel cast very smoothly and holds a lot of fishing line. I'm amazed by the smooth retrieve. This reel feels and works more like a $50-$60 dollar wheel.
Alayna : Overall, a solid budget reel
Pros:
1. The drag system is excellent. It is highly adjustable and I love the sound and haptic feedback of the dial.
2. The construction seems durable. I'm in no hurry to drop it, but I suspect it would hold up better than most reels if I did.
3. Line comes off the spool very smoothly (although I don't recommend heavy braid for this reel)
Cons:
1. There is more material in the reel base than I like to have. It feels thick and adds weight that seems like it could be eliminated.
2. The part that actually connects to the reel seat is particularly thick. I had to force it a little bit into the reel seat of my rod.
Mr. Lincoln : Not their best reel
I bought two of these after I fell in love with the summer/centurion series. After comparing the two, I find these reels to be the less impressive. Feels like the reels are filled with sand after using the summer series. Price point the same so trust me, go for the summer series. 7/10 would recommend if they were on sale for half off or more.
zander laurent : Ok reel for 20 bucks
It is an ok reel. Especially for 20 bucks.
However, i don’t feel like it is anywhere near close to a five star reel.
It feels somewhat cheep, and it looks better online than it does in person.
It is fairly smooth, but doesnt feel amazing.
It doesnt wow me. I probably wont get another kast king, but I will throw this reel on a cheap 20 dollar rod and let other people use it when I take them fishing.
I think maybe the reason this reel and the brutus have such good reviews is because kastking offers free fishing line if you leave a review. (At least they did to me-there was a little instruction card in the box)
Wanted to leave this review so that other buyers dont get duped by the full 5 star rating. This reel is not bad, but it is far from great.
Anonymous : Great deal for a quality pond fishing reel
This reel felt very smooth during casting and retrieving. My two year old was able to reel up a nice little rainbow (the 4000 was overkill) this morning. If you are familiar with kastkings line I would say this falls just below the crixus but the price justifies that. If you are looking for a larger sized reel and arent expecting to buy a stella quality reel for 20 bucks then grab this one!

riguy63 : Lancelot 4000 series spinning reel to master the beasts!
I bought the 4000 series Lancelot spinning reel by KASTKING for big bass and catfish. I must say I am very pleased with it. The reel is very smooth, solidly constructed and has a very powerful drag to haul in any fighting lunkers.
Amazon Customer : Good bang for the buck!
A decent reel for the $. Seems to be well built with quality components. Some components seem identical to the Centron reels. Similar price point and quality. I'd like to see a 500 size!!!!!!!!!

Ed : Dissapointed
I cannot believe I'm going to say this about a Kastking product, but this reel does not work, the inside gears don't fit correctly, if I try to reel in, the spool stays still. It looks like they don't check the pieces they put inside, now, what am I going to do with a product I cannot return because of my location? I'm really dissapointed Kastking
Update: I compared the pieces with another reel I have and found the differences, you can see how the piece should be (red Grease) and the one that came with the new reel (white Grease) the red one is bigger
Kyle : Awesome value
Seemed like a really good price, and I usually go with the reviews. I ordered 2. They just showed up and I spoiled up some 5lb line and they are buttery smooth. Can't wait to try them at the lake tomorrow
Chen Wei : The reel is ok! Fit my rod quite well
The reel is quite ok, do its job pretty smoothly, though after using it for over a month, I hear some squeaking sound from the bearing. I feel like I could get better reels with this price. But it does not affect that it's a fine reel. Working well so far, and I had fun with it.
SLeger : Top notch
Im a beginner Fisher so didn't want to spend a ton on my first reel but still wanted quality. This more then meets my expectations! It's only been on the lake once but so far so good.
you can compare the product price from Costco, wayfair, bestbuy, lowes, target, homedepot, Walmart, ebay, amazon to find the best price for you
