Answer: I have it on a telescopic rod, works fine. A little big for the rod length I have it on but still works great.

Unfortunately this performs at exactly what its price point would lead you to belive it would preform. Drag seems on off switch with absolutely no middle ground. As soon as there is even the slightest bid of load in the reel some rubbing noises can be heard and some resistance is felt reeling. I have no idea if mine is defective or if that is just how this is made. The extra spool is made of plastic and has no business being used for anything other then garbage. That said this cost me less then 20 dollars hence the 2 stars. If you goal is to catch fish for as cheap as possible this reel might be of value to you.

Very attractive reel. My first spinner reel too haven't used it yet but i can tell you that it already feels smooth. I had to return a kastking due to the handle hitting the reel, needless to say it was a bummer. But I'll definitely post a 2nd review after use.

Got this reel for ice fishing. I was pleasantly surprised at how great it is. Decent drag, nice anti reverse, and very smooth. I would definitely buy again, and other sizes. I did switch the handle to a folding one, but that is just a personal preference, and for easier fit in rod holder. Very happy with purchase.

The reel seems substantial but the spare spool is absolutely garbage. The main spool uses metal on the bail spring, but the spare spool uses cheap plastic. If the entire package was presented as advertised, this would have been a 5 star product.

I received this reel just in time for trout opener in my area and had no problems reeling in these two nice steelhead. The drag worked great with no hesitations or jerkyness even on that 7lb fish. With a comfortable handle and a smooth line retrieval this reel has quickly became one of my favorites. Feeling as good if not better than the aforementioned well known brand and now has a permanent spot on my rod.
