Would they work as line winders for tenkara rods?

Answer: that's why I bought them. Work fine.

Answer: The o-ring they use break after a very short time, the idea is great but get your own o-ring the green ones they last and i told these guys about it an they did nothing

Would they hold a small fly?

Answer: unless they changed the O-rings that hold them to your rod they will not hold them very long maybe a week at best.

Answer: Yes! Small hooks would work! My larger hooks and heavy line just pull them apart.

Answer: Yes. No problem with small hooks. They also make good line winders for tenkara rods.

Awesome idea but like a lot of the reviews said "piece of junk" like mine the first time i put it on and went fishing the plastic end broke off. Bummer i really wanted them to work

The product is very hard to install. I used the smallest O ring that would fit on the fishing rod. You get 3 in each pack, the largest was too big, the smallest would not go round so the middle size was used. While fishing the same night it was installed the hook keeper came loose. I do not know if the O ring broke or the keeper itself broke because it apparently blew out the boat. Product is a waste of money.

I had high hopes for these things to work . Unfortunately they never made it on any of my fishing rods. After installing one or two they would snap off the fishing rods.
Ended up using white zip ties with a hole at the end to be able to hold my hooks in place .

Not ONLY is it nearly impossible to get onto your rod, no matter small or large rod,the rubber gaskets are too big for the tine tiney little skirt reels they are intended to hook onto. Another example of extremly poor Chinese workmanship.....overall I hate even giving it a one!!

These did not work well for me. They would not stay on the rod and constantly fell off. Might work better on smaller rods. I used them on medium heavy rods.

Good line wonders on my "blue collar" tenkara rods. I plan to replace the o rings since reviews say they are substandard.

Too small and flimsy. This would be a good product if a bit heavier material. I have tiny hands and it took a while to attach it. It will not last long.

Great idea, I was really hoping these would work and they did for a short time. The O-rings that they came with broke 4 days after I installed them. I will have to go to the local hardware store and try to find a better O-ring. Good luck if you purchase them I hope the O-rings you receive are better quality.

When you use this for tenkara, you need two pieces for one rod. So, I thought 4 sets were for 4 rods, so 8 pieces. But, I got 4 pieces for 2 rods. Well, I basically misunderstood; 4 sets means that you get 4 pieces of hook keepers accompanied by difference sizes of rubber rings. But I would like to have more detailed product description. That been said, this product works well, so I still recommend this.

Argon1 : The o-rings included are crap

The seller replaced the whole package but the problem remained the o-rings that hold the hook retainer on the rod crack and fall off after a month or two. I still loved the idea so i set forth to find a o-ring that would last , i found some at a hardware store they are HNBR (Hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber) these have lasted almost 7 months so far they may want to adopt these for the product.
