I've never thrown a cast net before this one. But I found this one is pretty easy. But mine is so long I can't hold it high enough to keep the weights from dragging the ground. I am going to try the method in the video where the guy folds part of the net up to make it shorter my next time out. I did catch mullet and pin fish in my first 5 attempt.

Just received my cast net. There were no instructions with the net but the video on the add gave me enough insight to go from a complete neophyte who had never thrown a castnest to a level 2 amateur in 2 or 3 throws. I haven't gotten on the water with it yet but I think it is going to work out.

Honestly? This hoop doesnt help at all. I ignore the hoop and throw like a normal cast net. I will buy normal cast nets or the real, actual EZ Cast Net and not the knock off in the future. I dont recommend this product.

The wrist band isnt bad and it is comfortable, well stitched, etc. but if you have big ole' manly man hands I bet it would feel tight. I'm female. The rope is a nice quality nylon; it isnt going to fall apart before your cast net wears out. I wish I got the lead and not aluminum weights so it would sink faster but they work well and are heavy for aluminum. I left them wet once for about 12 hours though... Yeah, it rusted. My mistake though. It rained and I booked it for shelter and got distracted. Dry and clean your cast net!

Funny story. The first time I used this net was in a small, local lake so I could just play with it. Apparently there was an (approximately) 18" big ole' blue catfish that was dead... And half rotten... Fins stiff as a board and all those fun spines straight out. It was being held down by debris and guess what my cast net brought me? I almost lost my lunch while untangling this thing from my net. I tried to GENTLY shake it out at one point. It tore the HELL out of my net. So I cant say if the netting is super cheap and easy to break or if I just had the absolutely worse catch of the day. It catches my perch, minnows, shad, all wonderfully until I find yet another big hole that needs repaired... This net won't last me long at all thanks to the Undead Megalo-Catfish of Doom.

This is the worst net I have ever had 1st throw was nice and smooth but 2nd throw it came back up tangled and twist so but I couldn't get it back apart and had to throw it in the trash can
