How large is the mesh? I need something water will flow through easily to reduce resistance when netting a fish at trolling speed.

Answer: I have the standard net and use it at trolling speed with no issues. The thicker catch /release material might be different.

My net doesn't secure tightly to the pole and unthreads during use. How do i secure it?

Answer: If it comes loose after tightening with your hands, I would get plumbers tape and wrap the threads with the tape. Plumbers tape comes on a spool and is made of thin plastic. It is not sticky and could easily be removed. If this does not work , I would buy some type of clear sealant like you use for boating applications and let it cure according to instructions. You may not be able to unscrew the net after doing this.

Answer: Never had same problem.....you might want to bring net in ac to chill down before attaching.....you might want to call company’s service dept.....easy to deal with.

Answer: The handle is 48" long when collapsed and 108" long when extended, just like the listing says.

Answer: Don't know exactly but has 3 different lengths I think it's about 4 ft. Then extends out to 5 then 6ft. Is very good not. Easy to get fish out and eady to extend and retractm

Answer: The handle aka slider and the net are two separate items. You have to buy each one separately. You can buy the handle and then buy any size net you like to attach to the handle or you can buy the gaff to attach to the handle. The net screws on so it's completely removable after a day of fishing to fit in your car.

Answer: It depends on the net head you select. I have the Ego Larger - Deep Rubber Net Head, and it is approximately 24" deep. If you selected a net with a different head I can't say for sure how deep they are. I have a friend who has the Large Rubber Net Head, and it is around 12"-14" deep if I remember correctly.

Answer: There are at least six different nets available. The depth of the net depends on which net you choose.

How deep is rubber mesh net?

Answer: From memory, the standard Rubber Mesh head depth is around 12"-14" deep. The Deep Rubber Mesh head is 24" deep.

Is this the newer heavy built model that can hold more weight when fully extended?

Answer: I don't believe so, the only thing they did was make the threaded part where the net screws on a little stronger.

+ Amazon came through with the replacement in time for weekend.
- We tested the ability of the net to float while in the water with it. It did float... for maybe a minute at most, and then began to sink.
+ I do like the handle design. We'll see if it holds up.

Bottom line = Not sure if this is worth the extra $$$ over other nets. Was really buying for the floatation claims as we bought this to replace a previous net that made its way overboard and sank.

Third fish in..I used the button to extend the net and the handle broke free! Look on the back of the handle and you will see a cheap aluminum pop rivet holding it in place. Thank goodness Amazon stands behind the product and is issuing a full refund.

With the 9' reach on this bad boy loosing kokanee at the boat is practically a thing of the past. The deep rubber net eliminates tangles allowing you to get back on the fish quickly. The net is also deep enough to handle those incidental bass occasionlly hooked,.

I think it is well built and works well when bringing in fish at a long distance from the boat. I think that I ordered the longest model and I would recommend not ordering this model if you plan on using it with one hand while bringing in a fish because of the weight. You really need 2 hands to use this when you extend the handle very far.

This net is a must have if you are a serious crappie fisherman. The reach works great when you are spider rigging out the front with long poles or longlining out of the back of the boat. However, it would be difficult to use by your self. I fish with two people 95% of the time.

This is probably the best net I have ever used and have. The construction of the net was very impressive and of quality material!
This will be the last net you will ever need, of course you will probably need a smaller version for smaller game fish.

Great product, great company. I love the rubber nets because I'm not wasting time untangling treble hooks. I hardly ever have to use the full reach but it's great to have it there when you need it. I can haul a huge largemouth out or reach out and get a rainbow trout before they do their death roll upon seeing the boat. Ego also sells a bunch of accessories for the handles. I find the boat hook most helpful it tight docking situations.

I use this net on my boat and makes landing a fish solo very easy with the telescoping handle. I also like the various attachments you can get. Loses a star for not floating and this is my second one as a result.

first impression, very nice net. great design. first few uses it worked great. then on my most recent trip, it broke. the extension handle broke, something on the inside mechanism. it will extend, but it won't retract. i wish the clear rubber net was a few inches deeper as well. easy for fish to bounce out. i contacted the manufacturer and they're sending me a new handle, no questions asked, so good on them. at least they stand behind their product. i just think it should've lasted longer than 4 trips, no matter if it's a cheapo or an expensive net.

I bought this net primarily for it's extended reach and the fact that it should not cause hooks to be embedded in the net material. I also put a thin film of silicone on the extended inner shaft mechanism and now it is silky smooth. The only issue I had was the poor packaging. It came in a big box with no other inside packaging or fill. The box was almost completely destroyed by the time it was delivered to me. Fortunately, I did not see any visible damage to the net. One last note, I also took white plumber's Teflon tape and wrapped the threads where the net screws onto the handle. Now, it's really secure and won't twist. I primarily fish Lake Erie for walleye and a net like this will be handy.
