How large is the mesh? I need something water will flow through easily to reduce resistance when netting a fish at trolling speed.

Answer: I have the standard net and use it at trolling speed with no issues. The thicker catch /release material might be different.

My net doesn't secure tightly to the pole and unthreads during use. How do i secure it?

Answer: If it comes loose after tightening with your hands, I would get plumbers tape and wrap the threads with the tape. Plumbers tape comes on a spool and is made of thin plastic. It is not sticky and could easily be removed. If this does not work , I would buy some type of clear sealant like you use for boating applications and let it cure according to instructions. You may not be able to unscrew the net after doing this.

Answer: Never had same problem.....you might want to bring net in ac to chill down before attaching.....you might want to call company’s service dept.....easy to deal with.

Answer: The handle is 48" long when collapsed and 108" long when extended, just like the listing says.

Answer: Don't know exactly but has 3 different lengths I think it's about 4 ft. Then extends out to 5 then 6ft. Is very good not. Easy to get fish out and eady to extend and retractm

Does the extension length include the net or is it just for just the handle?

Answer: The handle aka slider and the net are two separate items. You have to buy each one separately. You can buy the handle and then buy any size net you like to attach to the handle or you can buy the gaff to attach to the handle. The net screws on so it's completely removable after a day of fishing to fit in your car.

Answer: It depends on the net head you select. I have the Ego Larger - Deep Rubber Net Head, and it is approximately 24" deep. If you selected a net with a different head I can't say for sure how deep they are. I have a friend who has the Large Rubber Net Head, and it is around 12"-14" deep if I remember correctly.

Answer: There are at least six different nets available. The depth of the net depends on which net you choose.

How deep is rubber mesh net?

Answer: From memory, the standard Rubber Mesh head depth is around 12"-14" deep. The Deep Rubber Mesh head is 24" deep.

Is this the newer heavy built model that can hold more weight when fully extended?

Answer: I don't believe so, the only thing they did was make the threaded part where the net screws on a little stronger.

My dad bought this off of amazon for us to use while pier fishing. We live in Michigan and fish the piers in Lake Michigan quite a few times of year when the different runs take place. The piers are just high enough off the water where it makes a longer reach net necessary. This net i more than enough. We only have to extend it about half way to have the reach we need, which is nice because it handle more weight when its not extended out all the way. Even if it was extended out fully it wouldn't be an issue. We are netting fish form directly above and not having to reach out or extend the net horizontally. The webbing is great. Drastically reduces the time we would spend untangling hooks and lures from the webbing. If your willing to spend the money, this is hard to beat.

Net is awesome. Used them on my buddies boats and they work great on smaller fish. I personally wouldnt use them on anything much bigger than 10# though especially not extended.

My only 3 stars rating though is combined 5 stars for the net and 1< for the delivery service of Amazon. THREE TIMES the net was ordered and THREE TIMES the wrong item was sent. Only because the net is modular do I have what I want and was eventually able to piece the correct handle to the net I wanted. Granted, after numerous calls to Amazon customer service, they made it right, but what a completely unnecessary s*** show and whoever is packing their orders should be fired.

Smoothest extension net ever made. Great product. I use it for kokanee salmon that like to go crazy when you get them near the boat. And with their soft mouths, they often tear loose from your hook at the last second. Having the Ego Reach means I can slip a net on them before they get in close and lose their minds. Perfect for my needs and rugged enough to stand up to banging around a boat.

This net is a must have if you are a serious crappie fisherman. The reach works great when you are spider rigging out the front with long poles or longlining out of the back of the boat. However, it would be difficult to use by your self. I fish with two people 95% of the time.

The net part did not screw into the handle with any degree of ease. I needed help from another person to get the threads started into the handle. Net threads were nylon and handle had metal threads and they did not want to go together. It took some force to accomplish. Aside from that, it extends and retracts well.

This is a great net. The telescopic handle makes landing a fish very easy on a pier. I like the coated net material, it doesn't seem to take the protective slime off Speckled Trout, and hooks do not get tangled. At first I thought it was a bit pricey, but it's well worth the investment.

+ Amazon came through with the replacement in time for weekend.
- We tested the ability of the net to float while in the water with it. It did float... for maybe a minute at most, and then began to sink.
+ I do like the handle design. We'll see if it holds up.

Bottom line = Not sure if this is worth the extra $$$ over other nets. Was really buying for the floatation claims as we bought this to replace a previous net that made its way overboard and sank.

This is probably the best net I have ever used and have. The construction of the net was very impressive and of quality material!
This will be the last net you will ever need, of course you will probably need a smaller version for smaller game fish.

I bought this net primarily for it's extended reach and the fact that it should not cause hooks to be embedded in the net material. I also put a thin film of silicone on the extended inner shaft mechanism and now it is silky smooth. The only issue I had was the poor packaging. It came in a big box with no other inside packaging or fill. The box was almost completely destroyed by the time it was delivered to me. Fortunately, I did not see any visible damage to the net. One last note, I also took white plumber's Teflon tape and wrapped the threads where the net screws onto the handle. Now, it's really secure and won't twist. I primarily fish Lake Erie for walleye and a net like this will be handy.

Okay to start this net was fantastic. The two way extending handle is great and very easy to use. It is light and has a perfect reach for getting Kokanee to the boat. And the plastic net material makes getting your hook out quick and easy. The only problem I have found is it does NOT float. During a flurry of Kokanee take downs the net was bumped out the back of the boat and gone before the boat could be stopped to attempt to retrieve it. This was a real bummer since we only had it for a month.

first impression, very nice net. great design. first few uses it worked great. then on my most recent trip, it broke. the extension handle broke, something on the inside mechanism. it will extend, but it won't retract. i wish the clear rubber net was a few inches deeper as well. easy for fish to bounce out. i contacted the manufacturer and they're sending me a new handle, no questions asked, so good on them. at least they stand behind their product. i just think it should've lasted longer than 4 trips, no matter if it's a cheapo or an expensive net.

After much hesitation I decided to go with this net... When it arrived from Amazon, only the hoop was in the box... no handle. And in this day and age it is impossible to get a problem like that resolved without just returning it, so that is what I did. I have tried the slide handle feature on the S2 and the first time I closed it I pinched my finger... I think I will end up getting either a Ranger with the octagonal slide handle or a Beckman.

The part number shows handle with net and the packaging says right on it sold as a 2 peace set DO NOT SEPARATE I’m sure this is a great product and would like to leave a good review but it will continue to get bad reviews until Amazon changes description along with part number or get the handles back with the nets and shipped with them
