is it lead or the plastic sinkers for the weights?

Answer: I hope the guys above know the difference between plastic weights and lead...Based on their answers I received the net only to find out that it's plastic weights with steel core. The picture you see on Amazon is nothing like what it really is. Fitecs own site is also misleading...They say 1 pound lead but it really is steel weights covered in plastic...The net is also very bulky and poorly made. It's lead line attaching to the net comes apart on first use.

We recently bought this net. The hubby is new to the cast net fun. We received a blue thingy in with the bucket containing the net. What is it?

Answer: If the net stretches. Memory in the line Will still be 1 inch. Unless your net is older and well used.

Answer: I'm not a metal expert but I would say lead it's a soft malleable metal the same metal that fishing weights are made out of. If you bit it there's an indention in it

I may have over read it but what is weight per foot 1lb 1.5lb 3/4lb etc

Review is on the 6ft radius. Much easier to work than the 8ft radius version I first purchased. I'm able to get it to fully open with only a small amount of swing. I use if for 3-6 inch bait like Gizzard Shad and White Perch for live baiting Rockfish. The net is only used from my boat on the Potomac and Chesapeake Bay. I've pulled in 3-4 lb catfish with the bait at times and the net has held up fine. Very satisfied with the construction.

The were Q&A about the bottome weights. The lead weights at the bottom are approximately 1 inch long tube type sinkers, not the round ones. It will get twisted periodically, but easy to free while hanging the horn over the rocket launcher.

I really like this cat net. It's pretty tough, relatively flexible, and throws abd spreads nicely. The only downside is that it seems to get tangled easily, and it's harder to untangle than other nets I've used. I don't know if this is just an error on my part, or has to do with the net design. But overall, it's a great value and i really like it.
