Answer: No warranty if you buy from amazon... Nice trick though, how someone replies with the warranty info from Bubba's web page that talks about warranty in the first paragraph, which is where many will stop reading, but in the middle of the second paragraph you will clearly see that amazon is not an authorized deal, so NO FACTORY WARRANTY. In my option, this info should be transparent and easily seen on amazon when purchasing this knife. But that would probably lose sales, which seem to be more important than the customers.

Answer: I have not tried to do so, it has really sharp surrogated blades, so it is definitely sharp enough to do so. The 2 blades reciprocate back and forth by each other, so if you can get the material to hold and not shake back and forth with it, I would think it would.

Lee : Exceptionally good for large boned fish

I purchased this fillet knife for red snapper and other fish with large bones. The blades are sharp, long, and heavy and are able to easily fillet 30 or more fish at a time. I have not used this knife on smaller fish, like trout, but have a feeling that the knife would be overkill for them since the blades are so heavy. That is why I did not give it 5 stars. However, for larger fish, this is definitely a 5 star knife.

Man, I was disappointed to say the least. These blades absolutely suck for cleaning crappie. They massacre the filets. The jagged edges may be good for big fish but not for crappie. 100 bucks give urself a break and just get a mr twister for 30 bucks. I would be willing to bet the bubba ceo 20k. He can use his bubba knife I will use the mr twister and will have a five person panel judge the filets. It’s not even close. Sorry bubba u best find some new blades.

Don't buy this knife. Several reasons. One, it cleaned 8 1/2 fish and then one of the blade guard screws came loose and wedged between the blades when being used and caused the knife to squeal and stripped the gears (which I am sure are cheap plastic). Then, when I went to get a warranty claim on the defective knife blades that caused the whole thing to crap out, they refused to honor the warranty because I bought it through AMAZON and not and authorized retailer. Please tell me why it matters! You either have a good knife or you don't and they do NOT! Please save your self the grief and money and go by a Rapala! My rapala is still working after 15 years! I will never buy another BUBBA product, nor should you.

The blades are top notch. But the gear that drives the blades not so good. After about 200 fish cleaned the gear which is made from nylon or plastic failed. Really liked the knife. It really worked great. I had to use my 10 yr old electric fisherman knife the next time I cleaned some fish. Trying to get ahold of seller to get this resolved. Bought thru Amazon 6/10/2019

I absolutely loved this knife until it quit working! Was used less than 10 times to filet freshwater bass and it broke. For $130 this knife is a joke! And because it was bought on Amazon the company will not issue a refund. Will be going back to the much cheaper Mr Twister electric knifes! For the high price point this Bubba knife is not worth it in my opinion.
