Nice trick though, how someone replies with the warranty info from Bubba's web page that talks about warranty in the first paragraph, which is where many will stop reading, but in the middle of the second paragraph you will clearly see that amazon is not an authorized deal, so NO FACTORY WARRANTY. In my option, this info should be transparent and easily seen on amazon when purchasing this knife. But that would probably lose sales, which seem to be more important than the customers.

Answer: I have not tried to do so, it has really sharp surrogated blades, so it is definitely sharp enough to do so. The 2 blades reciprocate back and forth by each other, so if you can get the material to hold and not shake back and forth with it, I would think it would.

This is my first Bubba knife, and it’s great! I borrowed one from a friend and loved how well it works. I have used and worn out several Rapala electric filet knives, and I won’t buy those again. Blade insert and removal is easy, and love that it comes with 4 blades and a functional case. The Rapala has a button to release the blades right where your thumb goes, plus putting the knife and cords back in the case is crazy hard. This knife is more like a power tool than just a filet knife. It has way more power and cleans crappie like they have zippers. It’s amazing! Totally recommend for those that fish a lot and want a dependable filet knife.

My latest Rapala electric knife only lasted six months. It was good while it lasted but I expected more than six months. So I decided to spend a little more and get a Bubba because they are highly rated. I was surprised when I tried to clean my first flounder because it wouldn’t cut. The motor would run and the blades were moving but it wouldn’t cut. I tried all four blades that came with it and none of them would cut. I’ve had many electric filet knives over the years and have cleaned hundreds of fish so I know how to use an electric filet knife. I can only imagine that the blades were defective. I saw a few other reviews with the same problem.

Man, I was disappointed to say the least. These blades absolutely suck for cleaning crappie. They massacre the filets. The jagged edges may be good for big fish but not for crappie. 100 bucks give urself a break and just get a mr twister for 30 bucks. I would be willing to bet the bubba ceo 20k. He can use his bubba knife I will use the mr twister and will have a five person panel judge the filets. It’s not even close. Sorry bubba u best find some new blades.

Knife works well. But after I almost finishing cleaning a five man limit of walleye. It quit on me. I had 2 filets left to skin. The knife over heated and shut down causing me to have to wait about an hour before it would work again. I suppose this is a safety feature to make sure you don't burn the motor up. But I thought it would at lease be able to make it thru 30 walleye. Or 60 filets total. Guess not.
